2/3 Passholder in my family did not get a resort discount e-mail. Waiting for the 3rd to respond. I really hope its because I have AP rate rooms booked, but I doubt that is why

I've been getting the AP emails but didn't get this one. I also have a room under.this special already so I think that's totally plausible.

My mother got the email, and she has booked using AP rates for our trip in August.

I have a non-activated AP fully linked to MDE account and was just unable to book the AP room offer for August. While chatting with a CM he said because the pass is not activated, I am not eligible to book the discount online. I would have to call the hotel directly to get the discount. Does this sound normal? Or is it an indication of how they are going to handle non-activated APs for the SWGE previews? AKA only active APs get in...

That’s not how it has worked. Were you signed into MDE? You should be able to book AP rate with just the voucher. Of course, it could be a glitch...

But given that there is no real precedent for this, I could see it being true. But given that fact, Disney should be releasing the dates soon so more people might activate their passes.

Yes I was signed in, hopefully it was just a glitch. There's probably a lot of people checking AP room rates for August right now!

I’ve heard this on another thread and I’m still saying that’s bs. My daughter has an unactivated AP and she booked her July trip recently on the discount as well as discounted after hour tickets. All my family except me have unactivated AP’s and can see the discounts for anything available. Unless this just went into effect, it can’t be right. Btw, you never call the hotel directly to book. If they did change it, that seriously sucks. There’s no reason your ap should have to be activated to book online. I have had to call before, it that was only when I had no AP at all, just had to have one when I checked in.

The other issue that may be relevant here is that Disney has been fluctuating the AP rates, so that the weekends are full rack rate. It comes and goes. So, if you were looking at weekends and they were at rack rate, it’s what we’ve been seeing. Usually, after a few days, weekends are back to being discounted.

If you are looking at weekends, try looking at a Tuesday and Wednesday and see if the discount appears.

I also have an unactivated AP. However, I was able to make a reservation for August in April on line using the AP discount without a problem. I actually won't be activating the AP until the next morning at MK. When I spoke to someone at the AP customer service they said it wouldn't be a problem. Not sure why you weren't able to. I just checked again and am able to get the summer passholder prices. I'm just logged into my account and then look under the "places to stay" tab and the passholder prices automatically come up when I put in the dates in early August that I am going. Odd!!

Thanks for the help everyone! Turns out I'm going to have to call technical help. I was looking for rooms again and my AP keeps disappearing from MDE on a desktop but i can see the passes for myself and family on the app. That has to be why i can't access the room offer.

I have an inactivated AP. I have an AP discounted room rate for August booked & have access online to see discounted rates for MNSSHP. So, I imagine I should be able to register for this if I have the correct link once it’s live. (My thanks to whoever posts it!).

That’s true, I dealt with that when I was booking my reservation. However, you should be seeing the selection to choose the AP offer that is out regardless of the rate.

Yup. And keep in mind you often have to have it set to US for any of the passholder stuff to work properly. Their IT doesn’t seem to accept that Canadians could go often enough to be APs.

It was the same Passholder discount for dates through August 28 that is in the website.

So how optimistic is it to pre-emptively book 3 nights at the All-Star Sports (August 21-24) (the cheapest room I could find for those general dates)?
