Disney Gift Card Deals

Is it just me or is this a really dry time for gift cards for some of us? Alot of these deals the last few weeks are regional b/c of store, or rebate portal, etc. Others I haven't gotten the offers for on any of my million credit cards. Geeze. This stinks. I am living vicariously through the rest of you.

UPDATE: I called Target right now. They again gave me the "we working on it right now" When they asked when I needed it I told them I needed it before last weekend. Got transferred to the gift card specialist. She put me on hold for about 5 minutes then I got the email with my $500 gift card. She said she would send me a $25 Target gift card as an apology.

Never buying online again!

I had the same problem. Ordered on Thursday morning and talked to them late on Thursday AM and then again on Friday AM. I was told there was a problem with the egift card system or something along those lines. I got the ecard on Friday night.

It would have been nice if there was some kind of message that said there is a known problem, but there wasn't. I'm not thrilled with the experience, honestly.

My local Sams Club informed us yesterday they are no longer carrying Disney GC's. They're still avail. online/app now though. Hope not a permanent change. Puzzling to me given it seems like they are of bigger demand than some of giftcards they do carry such as BurgerKing, Bob Evans, AMC theaters. And they started the Travel site so there would be more members who visit Disney and may want GC's.

I think this time of year is always dry - the main time of year for gift card deals are November - December. I think it is starting to feel more dry because many of the easier avenues we have used have been closed down in the last 2 years, including using gift cards at target, using gift cards at best buy, using swagbucks at best buy, and now happy cards may soon follow.

That being said, I would expect some new Amex offers in July, especially on business cards since the lowes and staples offers from the first half of the year are expiring.

I converted my last $300 of happy cards to Disney at Home Depot yesterday. All cards had the new language. Did separate transactions of $100 at self checkout without problems. I also noticed that the new cards have the card number covered with a sticker so it isn’t exposed. I always thought it was odd not to have it covered up.
$100 disney gift cards okay at self checkout? I thought $50 was the "magic number"?

Hey all! Haven't chimed in for awhile now but check in every once in a while. Forgive me if this is a silly question but are Disneyland tickets coded as merchandise or gift cards at Target? I guess I'm essentially asking if they can be bought with a Target gift card?

I found a deal on Disney Gift Cards on Raise. I bought $100 ecard and used the promo code Bonus10 and got $10 off. I received the email in minutes with the link on my Raise account to access the codes. I was able to add it to my Disney Gift Account and Boom-$100. Hope it works for you. I can use the $10 to get more Dole Whips next April. oh and I went through my ebates so I get another 1% off. :) not a lot but it adds up.

I thought so too, but after 4 trips of doing just $50, I decided to give $100 a try. I was converting a total of $900 and wasn’t looking forward to 18 trips.
Why make different trips? I did three consecutive $50 cards a couple of weeks ago. Just scanned and swiped one after the other in separate transactions.

Just because you do different transactions, that doesn’t mean you need to do different trips.

This. I’d consider living on the edge a little @Eighty8Keys ;) Try 2 separate $100 transactions in a row next time. If no one bugs you maybe even give a 3rd one a go. I’ve done 2 transactions in a row multiple times at self-checkout no one batted an eye.

Because I’m a chicken. I was stopping early in the morning in my way to work when hardly anyone was in the store and didn’t want to draw attention to myself with a stack of gift cards. Sometimes a “helpful” employee comes over to help at self checkout. My last $300 was in one trip but the store was very busy and no one had time to notice me so I felt safer.

I get that! I’m lucky enough to be able to go during lunch when it’s busy with all the contractors doing their lunch time runs for supplies.

I messaged Chase yesterday about my missing 5x Chase Pay (I was targeted via email) and they said it takes 2 weeks. I don’t feel like arguing, this is playing out exactly like it did last time where it took weeks to post for the people who did it at the beginning and Customer Service Reps gave everyone different- fake- answers on when bonus points would post *sigh* I don’t feel like dealing with lying reps so I’ll just be waiting this one out for a few weeks.

DOC is reporting that Happy Cards now include terms excluding gift card purchases :crazy2:

ETA: I see this was already mentioned. Wonder how well this is going to be enforced.

I think this will make them even more of a YMMV situation, especially at BBB.

Unless the system hard codes against it, they will probably continue to work at HD self checkouts as usual. Too bad only HG is good for HD, while three HCs work (currently) at BBB.
