Can someone please explain to me why they would raise direct prices again. I mean now BCV is going up to $225 a pt what is the reasoning for that since its shorter than most in years. I was gonna buy direct for perks and stuff but I cant now .

That one blew my mind. Unless their waiting list for that one is so long that they think they can sell it at $225/pt?? People who bought BCV initially can probably sell on the resale market now for triple what they paid!

It is possible, disney does not want to sell that inventory.....so they price it so high to discourage it....but will take any offers at that high price.

Why?

Because not sold inventory can be help back and sold on a per night basis that more then makes up for any lost funds form pre pay or dues.

There is a reason disney, or any business for that matter does anything, and it is to drive the $$ to their bottom line. Some finance person crunched the numbers and decided $225 was where they make more money selling then holding.

I think the bigger concern is right now IG has 20-50 people at it in the mornings at rope drop and is pretty much walk up the rest of the day. It is pretty much a "private entrance". After the skyliner traffic traffic joins, it will get more crowded. Hopefully not too much....

I am thinking that they have to expand the amount of gates there. Going from two hotels (maybe 4 if you count Swan/Dolphin) to 6 (or 8), with Caribbean Beach, AoA, and Pop all being so big, will have to lead to more capacity at the entry.

Actually if they do the security checks and magic band checks at the gondola stations and drop off people on the "inside" of the IG, then it might not present to big of an increase at the security checks there, but I don't think we know what the setup for that area is right now.

When I met with the DVC agent in December he told me that Disney has closed the waiting list for BCV because it was so long. The demand is obviously there, so they are capitalizing on it.

so u think they are going to call people up and say.... "We have your 100 points at BCV, its $25k" and people are going to say "okie dokie" no way, they will pucker up & decline

I had a guide flat out tell me in October that they are jacking the rates up super high in an effort to discourage people asking about those resorts.

They need to sell aulani. Hard to do with the other properties priced under $200.

That sounds great.

But what about leaving? What’s going to happen every night after illuminations let’s out.

The line for the skyline is going to be insane. Which will cause massive traffic jams all over the place since there is a natural choke point right there.

I just added on 25 points. Albeit at the $185 or whatever it was. I needed the points, so I really didn’t have another option. I didn’t need more than 25, so buying resale wasn’t really an option.
