Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

We are arriving 2 weeks from today! Really looking forward to see all the upgrades. Does anyone know what time the buses usually start running in the morning? We have an early ADR at Chef Mickeys one day and I wasn't sure if we could take a bus to MK or if I need to get an Uber. Thanks for any tips.

Buses start rolling at 6:30AM every day. Unless there's a 7AM park opening, then they start rolling at 6AM for that park.

We stayed there last week and loved the resort! We will book there again the future. Our room was in Aruba but we never heard any construction noise. There is still a small construction area in front of bell services though. The room did have a minor mildew smell when we first walked in but after the AC ran I never noticed it again. Yes, the rooms can use some TLC but for the discounted rate we booked at - I’m not complaining. The staff were helpful and friendly and the grounds were lovely.
That’s very reassuring. I’m one of those people that likes to try things myself first so I’ll leave our reservation there and see how it goes.

I stayed at CBR in 2015 with my family. The rooms were just refurbished and they were beautiful. We stayed for 1 night but I wished we had stayed longer. I loved the fact that we were so close to HS and Epcot. We stayed in Martinique section. Very close to OPR and the main pool. The hidden gem is the main pool especially if you have kids. I'm planning on staying there again for Christmas/New Years of 2019.

No kids with us but I’m sure we will still like it. I’m hoping we get the Martinique section

First of all, dansdad...your helpful advice and answers on this thread are amazing! Thank you for taking the time and helping us get to know CBR.

DH and I are staying at CBR for the first time in July. We booked a King Bed room.

We are taking an Uber to everything, so our priority is being close to where the drivers will pick us up which I am guessing is outside OPR.

There are a total of 2 king bed rooms in Martinique (25 and 26) and one is handicap accessible. There are 2 in Barbados 31 and 22 in Barbados 33.

Which building do you recommend that I request? (Sorry for another boring room request question!)

Cool. There are King Beds in Martinique. Didn't want you to request a location that you couldn't get if you had a Standard.
I only did online check in and requested Martinique. I’m not sure we will get it. If not, it’s not a bit deal.

You're welcome.

I don't know who told you those numbers but they are wrong. There are a total of 8 Kings in each building, 4 on each floor. To up your chances, I would word your request Martinique or Barbados.

I think we’ll keep it and decide for ourselves if we like the resort or not. Thanks!
I think you will like CBR, Haley! We're staying there for 4 nights in May then again for 4 nights in December. The last time we stayed we had a great time even though the bridge from Jamaica (that's what village we were in) to OPR was closed....for reburbishment, I think? We enjoyed the leisurely walk around the water to get to the main area and pool. Please report back after your trip!

That sounds right as far as the bridge renovation is concerned. We were there around then, too. It was November 2015, IIRC.

We'll be back at CBR in just 5 more sleeps!:cool1::banana::cool1::banana:

Lucky you! Yes, sounds about right. I think we were there at the beginning of Dec 2015.

I’m sure we’ll like it. We tend to like the more spread out resorts when we have free time to relax and enjoy it. Hopefully the weather cooperates in early February so we can take advantage of the size of the resort. We like to jog so I’m sure we will do that.

That's great news! Thank you! (I got the numbers from Touring Plans website) That really increases my chances :dogdance:

We are planning a trip in March 2020. Does any think that Jamaica will become preferred pricing because of the skyliner? Also, I'm planning to do the week if March 7th. I know with SWGE opening this fall, it will not be a typical March but any ideas on crowd levels? Easter is April 12th.

Wait what? Details pls

So tues and Thurs mornings at the main pool from 8-9 is mermaid school. $50 you get to borrow a tail and learn to swim with it. The photo of the advertisement I’ve seen said to book at concierge and space is limited so I was hoping someone can confirm that’s all I do and it’s not a specific call in thing and my daughter misses it because I wasn’t on top of it

SERIOUSLY doubt it.

If they made Jamaica Preferred, they would also have to make Aruba Preferred because of its proximity to the DRR Station.

Don't see it happening.:)
