I love credit cards so much!

Thanks to everybody who replied on my little "touring plan" scenario. I read them all and will take all the wonderful points brought up to formulate a plan.

Also - didn't realize so many folks were interested in AA miles! Who in here is chasing a 2nd (or more) Biz AA and is trying to find mailers? (Keep in mind you don't need one of these mailers for the first card)

I'm happy you brought this up! But, I would want to do a business card and I'm not seeing a great option in the Delta business cards. I could easily use either the Target cards or the Disney cards redemption, but I would get no use otherwise out of this card. Any ideas on how I can make this pay off?
The Delta offers are pretty sad right now. I did a 60k points + $50 statement credit for delta purchase. Which reminds me, I need to sell the $50 gc I bought! I’d definitely wait for a better offer. I did the delta gold biz.

I LOVED having a balcony on the cruise! Dh and I spent so much time out there---and also a lot of time out on a "secret" forward deck on the Coral Princess. That was our first (and so far, only) cruise. We used Costco Travel and ended up with a ton of OBC :)

I knew that I wanted Glacier Bay, which limited my cruise line choices to Princess and Holland America. I compared the northerly one-way itineraries and available ships. Basically the only itinerary choices were the ending port and the choice of Skagway or Haines. Dh wanted Skagway because he had always wanted to ride the train into Canada. I decided that going into Whittier (Princess port for Anchorage) would be more interesting than into Seward (Holland America's port for Anchorage) because of the glaciers in Prince William Sound. So that's how we chose our ports

I know it’s not exactly intended towards me, but thank you SO much for all of the tips on this! I decided about a month ago that we are going to do this summer of 2020 but I know I don’t have the time to do a years worth of reading before booking (which in most cases I would also do but decided on this one sort of “last minute”) So this is super helpful!!

I've gotten to the final screen so many times in the past few months...and then stopped. Someday I'll actually do it...maybe

I'm definitely just cashing out for the deposit and then waiting as long as possible before I pay anything else. Of course, for the scenario to work, Chase would have to restart Disney bookings, I'd have to be able to find three rooms at Pop for my dates, and then I'd have to PC something to a CSR and rebook the entire thing... and then I'd feel bad about taking it away from my TA who has been very nice so far. So it's looking like a mass cashout.

@Andysol - should I expect a response in the Citi SM screen from that backdoor SM I sent for a match? I sent a message a week ago and there was no response posted.

:scared1: Oh my goodness! How is this even possible? With all the checking ID they do at the airport? Let us know what AA says. Hope getting your miles back goes smoothly!
Fraud on loyalty accounts is possible and occurs more than we probably realize. For Example...You can book a SW flight for anybody with your points. This is why I advocate having that "points balance" spreadsheet so you know everything is right, and I would check at least quarterly (personally I check all my balances monthly).

We were just discussing if those ‘magical deals’ were still as magical....my aunt has two rooms booked at Pop for thanksgiving week (8 nights, 6 day non PHer tix) through Disney. No DP. It’s been booked for months, on a whim she contacted the same TA at that agency that we have used twice before. She gave a quote of $800 less PER ROOM! So, it still is worth checking with them, even if it’s not Labor Day. I couldn’t believe she could get that good of pricing for thanksgiving week.

Is anybody in our group churning AA cards? Are people looking for personal, business, or both offers? I'm continuing to read up on this personally as it could become a minor part of my 2019 strategy and just want to know who else wants to be kept up to speed on things if I find anything out OR anything changes.
I’d love to churn Biz cards. Trying to get under 5/24. Have already had CitiBiz, Aviator Biz and Personal Cit and Aviator

Since so many people are interested, I propose accumulating data in DISChurners. I have already relied on the info there a few times when considering AA miles! It would be nice to continue adding more info there.

Well way to make us all feel like small fish Andy :P :P JK!!! How are you getting your biz offers? Purchasing them on the marketplace?

They show up at my office to the owners of my companies. Me and the other guy who basically runs the other side just use them. Owners don’t care.

Much like me on Valentine’s Day, it usually just happens even though I get no response after asking.

I think that she and I have the same name, at least in the account she has the flight booked with the same name, and her email address has part of the same name. I had a flight she booked once before in my account, and I called, and they couldn't figure it out, but said not to worry about it, since it didn't use miles and that it shouldn't happen again.
Well it did this time. I had even changed my username and password to something completely different, so I am not sure how she logged in. Before it still had all my address and phone and stuff in it, but now it has her address, email and phone, and my birthdate.
This would explain my mystery gold status mailer that I got. At that point, clearly my address was in the file because I got the gold status card sent to me. Looking again now, it seems she JUST booked this flight on 12/26 for February. Ha, you won't be taking that flight, sorry!

You lucky dog you, lol! I may end up going the purchase route at some point - seems you can get one for about $10 on the marketplace.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Mine timed out like 3 times before I pulled the trigger. But I only did $198. I'd probably be having an existential crisis doing the amounts you'll have to.
If I wanted to cash it all out...$6,037 today...I really should do it...I'm going to earn another 400k URs this year...Someday I will bring myself to do it haha.

So is it an honest mistake on her part, and she’s just as confused as you why some info in “her” account matches her but some doesn’t? Or is she’s purposefully committing a fraudulent act and stealing your points?
