Can someone point me towards the best dates to change my payment due date to to try and get my SW CP faster? I know it's a risk, but since I pretty much can't use CP on the trip in January, I'm okay taking a risk trying to get the points to post earlier in general.

Currently:
  • Biz card closed on 25th, due date is Dec 22nd
  • Personal card doesn't have close date posted, due date is Jan 11th
Looking, maybe personal card is okay as it should close a few days before Jan 11th...? So really just want to move Biz to earlier in the month if possible.
The statement close date are 3 days after your payment due date except when at the end of the month (26, 27, 28). So if your payment due date is 12/4 then your statement closes on 12/7. If your payment due date is 12/25 then your statement closes on 12/28. If your payment due date is 12/26 then your statement close date would be 1/1 So you either want to move it to the 26, 27, 28 or move it to 1, 2, 3.

New cards- but I already had a 12/2 statement for the biz and will have a 12/15 for the personal. I’m currently 1300 in on the biz and 700 on the personal.

I can wait till feb for the companion pass - our first planned flight is 3/2. So I guess if I make it by the 1/15 statement for the personal and the 2/2 statement for the biz I’ll be good. Leaves me with a month leeway for the points to post.
So your biz payment due date is the 27th of the month, correct? So anytime from 12/16 or on, you can complete your spend so you will have bonus points post in January and have CP.

Thanks -- I'll see if I can install on my ipad tonight and figure out how to use it to shop at Boxed.
There will be a link to click through to shop Boxed. I’m not sure what current bonuses are but there is usually one for using a ‘support’ link to sign up and sometimes one for making your first mobile purchase.

Maybe something changed but that wasn’t my experience in January....the RR bonus points show up in my account a few days after the statement in which I hit the MSR closed
Agreed. I had to very carefully track my spending last year to make sure I didn't meet spend until by Dec statement closed. Then around 12/15, I wrapped up the spend to make sure there was sufficient time for the transactions to post and then the bonus posted in Jan just I expected it.

Really? So if my statement closes 1/2 and I hit the msr on 1/7 I won’t have to wait till 2/2 for my points? That seems.... unusual.

Interesting... this is news to me and a change from before. Wonder if Chase is doing this with all their cards now. I know URs post at statement close. Marriott I'm not sure. Ritz free nights used to post when the charge putting you over MSR was still pending. I'm almost certain this was a cause of issues on Reddit last year though, Southwest points were posting before statement close and messing up the CP.

Also I think I'm just more confused now. If the points post at statement close, what difference would it make at this point for @Jax1023? It's within the statement period for 1/2, so conceivably all spending up to MSR could be done now safely and the points will post at statement close. But that's not the conventional wisdom that I've seen. What difference does it make at this point to finish the spend on January 1?

I think there were some issues with people not realizing that returns still counted so if you bought something for $1000 and then were returned it, you were still + $1000 towards the spend. Or they didn't really know when their Dec statement cut and their Dec purchases still counted towards Dec and not Jan.

Lowe’s worked for me. Giftcard and it credited. Same with Dicks. Got 30% off on one of those so real nice. Waiting on staples I’ll update when I know
dang it I need Dick's and don't have it.

The offers will show up if I log in, but if I log in as DH they don't. I delete app and then get it again and log in as DH and they show but then relog as me and they don't. Anyone else have to delete the app to see them on 2 accounts?

We are cruising in Feb (RCCL) did the uber work out? I was debating a car service we need ride from Disney to port and from port to universal and then back to MCO from uni
We did the uber from yacht club to port. It worked out fine, but I was scared that no one would want to drive that far plus we need an XL. The guy was super nice. We have also done happy limo a couple times without issue. The Minnie vans go there now too. If we were going to be at wdw I would do that for sure!! they don't go airport to port though. :(

No, I am able to logon to my and DH's account accounts without any problems on my iPhone.

I just did this app and funded 500 with CFU. Where are you transferring from to meet the 1k DD minimum?

I'm thinking about trying CapOne360 again, there's a recent DP on DoCs list that it worked. I still have to do a little leg work while I wait to be approved ( hopefully), but I opened up Schwab and Fidelity earlier this year that I think also work. I have to go back through the posts I saved here and from Reddit to confirm that though.

Transferred the 25k into my Discover account. Now to await the $200 bonus. I guess it's time to open an account for DH so I can move that 25k to his account for the bonus.

Both of ours posted the next day after it deposited into the account. Happened to be on business days, so it was something like deposit posted 11/15, bonus posted 11/16. Nice $400 for the same $25k

I was going to do in-store pick up, so I thought I could order through the app and then pick it up.

I was going to say that even though you do in-store pickup the charge comes from the online store, so cartwheel doesn't get applied - BUT I'd have been wrong! They have rolled out the change and your in-store pickup is supposed to apply the cartwheel as long as you add it before checking out. Also I don't think it applies to ship to store items, just the ones that say Order Pickup.

Been waiting for that, now I'll consider the online ordering. :)

Sometimes procrastination pays off. The Santander checking account $225 offer has been on my list to open, but with waiting to see if I got approved for the Alaska Biz card so I could use the CC funding towards MSR just hadn't opened it yet. After seeing the new offer for $300 now that DoC posted, with all the same terms, I decided to apply tonight. (https://www.doctorofcredit.com/santander-300-checking-bonus-nh-ma-ri-ct-de-ny-nj-or-pa-only/)
It's pending, bleh. :worried:

That was a crazy app though, I haven't been asked about how much money goes in and out of my accounts in years... I didn't even think they asked that anymore! And then they ask, 'Do you anticipate using ACH transactions', or something like that... um yeah, isn't that required for the bonus you're offering? I think I will, thank you very much. The worst part of the app is when they ask you your occupation - it's a text field but it's not really. If your occupation isn't part of their predefined list, it gets wiped out without any clue you are supposed to be searching for a matching occupation. That took several tries to figure out that's what was going on.

On the plus side, if I get approved I've got 500 UR coming at me on my CSR. First time I've got a fraud alert on it. I cleared it from both the text and email and then tried again and seems to be no problems... just gotta wait for someone to review it and hope a handful of Chex inquiries over the last 6 months isn't too much.

Thanks for the heads up on the process. I think we are going to open an account there too. DH's job is commission based, and every once in a while people want to pay cash (pity the fools). The company reduces his paycheck by any cash that he collects, and he keeps the money. We thought it was so weird when it first happened, and expected it to be a rare occurrence, but he probably gets a cash transaction every week or two. We pretty much never use cash (obviously), and our current banks are all online only, so we could either spend the cash (and give up the credit card points? NEVER) or we need to open an account with a bank that has a local branch so we can put the cash in the bank. Santander looks like the winner (for the next few months at least) because of this bonus.

Santander is pretty good. You have to read the terms to see how long it takes to get the bonus (around 90 days I think), but they post like clockwork after that period. Really easy. The account just requires some kind of activity once per month to waive the fee.

You'll probably see it in the next day or two. Discover pays super fast.

I just opened a Santander checking also. I received a targeted offer in the mail for $400, but it said "this offer ends November 30". Of course I stupidly waited until the 30th to do it, assuming it would automatically be opened. But no, I got the message that they would review and let me know. Then yesterday (December 3) I received an email - "Congratulations your accout is open".
I'm probably going to call and ask once I have my account number, but wondering what people's thoughts were on this.

Will I still qualify for the bonus? I applied by the deadline, but don't think the account was officially open until a couple of days later.
And if the bonus isn't attached to my account can I just cancel/close it?

So sad that MD isn't included! The Santander and the other banks in Hanover are actually closer to me than any bank in MD.

Has anyone closed Discover bank accounts yet? Does it have to be done over the phone? thinking of getting one for DH, but not if a phone call will have to be made when it's time to close.

I opened the Amex Plat last month after being targeted for the 100k offer. I finally saw that my statement close is mid-December. I can do the Triple Dip, right?

Plat Travel Credit:
We only have plans to fly American next year for one round trip...already paid for, seats assigned. We might check 1 bag, but that won't be decided until packing time. I read a recent article on MMS about which airlines credit the $200 travel credit for purchasing gift cards: Delta, SW, and American. Anything change? We have no use for SW, and am planning on listing any GC on Raise, but I probably would pick American just in case it doesn't sell.

In case I can't sell the American GC's, and I get them in $100 denominations, can these be used for general airfare, or if I want, to pay for the checked bag next year? Any other thoughts?

Saks Credit:
I have only seen very few reports of the credit working for in-store GC purchase. Any other insight? I don't really have any need for anything from Saks (especially that can be bought for $50 or less).
