Question about bell services- on our check out day we will be leaving SOG around 6:45 for early morning magic at Hollywood Studios. My plan is to come back around 3:00 pm to get our luggage and head to airport. Does anyone know if bell services is open that early to store out luggage? Maybe the front desk can store it that early?
 
This was probably already discussed, but not sure where to find it.....how do most people travel to/from MCO to SOG?? On my previous stay, we did a day before/after our SOG stay at a WDW resort to use ME.

We are thinking of doing an impromptu trip in May and are considering all costs.

A lot of people use Uber or arrange a town car with Mears, Sunstate etc. Uber seems to be less expensive.

We user Super Shuttle (can usually find a discount code somewhere online). I've just checked my emails, and last year it was $35.20 roundtrip (one person) and the year before $36 roundtrip.
 


Got my email today to buy my tickets for January trip! Very excited. it asks for the information from the military ID card and says to put the servicemember's information, but in this case he's not going. Anyone done this before? i am thinking I will put all his info up top but just put my and my daughter's names where it asks for whose going. I'm sure they will let me know if that's not right.

This is correct. Put the service members info but put your name under reservation name.

I was under the impression that If you buy military priced tickets, a military member must be present at park gate the first day to activate.

Prices for 2019 haven’t been released yet for stars and strips or Magic Your Way. I am not so patiently waiting also

I can buy magic your way tickets today from SoG, with todays pricing, for a trip in May 2019. The salute is year specific. Not sure on stars and stripes.

Bell services checked our luggage for the airport (Southwest). They also held our carry-on while we had our last day in park. Sorry, I do not recall how early it was.
 
As for transporting luggage.....Last year we did a double split stay (in order to use ME). Disney transported our luggage to SOG where we stayed for the week. After that week, we were going to POFQ. Our luggage was transported from SOG to POFQ, but we had to call Disney to do the transport. They will send someone to pick up luggage at SOG and bring it to their resorts, however, SOG will not arrange it for you.
 
Has anyone booked FP+ for January yet with the new Salute tickets? I entered ours today (60 day bookin is tomorrow!) and we noticed they are coming up as “2017 Military Salute” although the “valid through 12/19/19” is correct. Fingers crossed that they work!

You should be fine. MDE is super glitchy. Since it says valid through 12/19/19 that is the correct end date and you should be fine! Good luck on FP day

Bell services is open 24 hours a day. They can check your luggage to the airport as long as your flight is after 10am.

This is a known issue for both SOG and Disney. You can call the tech support line if you’d like them to double check. Mine say the same and when I called they verified on the backside it shows 2019 salute.

Basically Disney tech told me due to the large amount SOG and military buy they will often reissue the unused cards under the new year salute and sometimes if goofs up.

Thanks! Absolutely no issues Saturday morning. And bonus points for being able to get all the FP+s we wanted!
 
Is there any new news on the glitch/problem linking to MDE when the military member is not going on the trip? I have 2 rooms for February - going with some girlfriends and my husband (military member) won't be along. I called to try to get all our names on the rooms since they have his name as one of the adults. They were able to fix it for one room but not the other, which means one of the ladies going doesn't have her name on the room. They told me that I would still be able to make her fast passes at 60 days as long as she is doing the same rides as the rest of us even though she is not connected to a Disney resort reservation. I know that worked for me last year when this same thing happened but that was back when they first started allowing SOG to do the 60 days. Does anyone know if this is still the case? Will I be able to make her fast passes too? I hate to have to Disney back and try (again) to get the names fixed!

Oooh, good to know! We're doing 1 day at a WDW resort (so we can use the magical express for coming in) and then switching over to SOG. Who did you contact to organise the Disney to Shades luggage transfer (and is it only at certain resort levels? We're staying at a value)?
 
Parking question. We are localish. I'm driving over with kiddos tomorrow to get APs and potentially see the resort decorations. Not going to have the APs activated (I think...these are Christmas presents so trying to be stealthy). I planned on parking at SoG, going to the ticket counter, then heading to the monorail resorts to see decorations. No park time. Would I be able to do this? I thought I saw last time I was there an hourly parking fee. Is this the best plan?
