Trial Club Level Fastpass+ Purchase Program Planning & Discussion

Dumb question....when posters say "double up" in reference to their FPs, what does that mean? Duplicating rides in the same day, or overlapping FP windows?

Doubled up for me was to book one of the regular FPs to be the same as the CL FP.

So on my HS day, one of CLFPs was for SDD and then I made one of my regular FPs to also be SDD.

Thanks for the double up answer! My CM told me I had to make all six FPs for different rides, and double ups were subject to cancellation. I don't want to make a post about circumventing rules, but I'm curious as to whether this has happened to anyone...

I doubled up on three days and nothing was ever cancelled. I had to contact DSS once and was scared they would see the doubles and cancel them but nothing was ever said.

Thanks, JJ2017. The rules seem pretty nebulous, especially since no one at DSS seems willing to put anything in writing.

This board is the only place I get my info from. I know the program can end/change any time. Since we are looking at a December 2019 trip and would love to do this program again, I'm looking solely at Dolphin qualifying rooms b/c for us that's the best cost savings. But if the program ends, we'd prefer a 1 bedroom DVC rental. I wish the program was official to make planning easier!

I’ve read here that a 2-night CL stay is required to “unlock” the ability to purchase a 3-day minimum FP+ add on. But how does that work in regards to the calendar?

If you stay 2 nights but buy 3 FP+, can you use the passes any day leading up to your check out, or perhaps afterwards? I’m trying to determine whether to begin or end our vacation with those 2 qualifying CL nights. Thanks!

The 3 days of CL FPs will be:
Check-in day - Day#1
Full Day of Stay - Day#2
Checkout Day - Day#3

These are the only days of your CL Stay that are applicable for the FPs.

Thanks so much!!!

Do you happen to know if all CL rooms qualify via DVC? I am finding contradicting information. Some say only the 2BR CL at AKV qualify. Yet there are Studios, and 1/2 bedroom CL there as well.

The only DVC rooms that are CL are those few AKL 2BR DVC rooms (I think there are like 6 of them, and they’re very hard to get). They are physically located on the 6th floor of Jambo House, which is the same floor as the CL lounge. That’s the only place across the resorts where you have DVC rooms that are also classified as CL - a setup unique to AKL.

Thanks but according to the points chart, AKL has CL designation for their Studios and other rooms as well. I chatted with DVC Member Services and they alluded that those rooms would qualify but didn’t come out and directly address my FP+ questions because DSS handles that. If it’s an issue of a room being designated as CL then maybe we’re in luck. However if DSS hand-picked those 2BR units out of the bunch then I’d guess not. I’ll call tomorrow and try to get clarification.

10-4. I’m not a DVC pro so maybe I don’t understand exactly how it works at AKL. I’ve only ever seen people talk about CL and the handful of villa rooms on the 6th floor, but maybe I’m misinformed or have something wrong in my head. Hopefully someone well versed with DVC/AKL can clarify. I suspect someone on the AKL thread on the Resorts board probably knows too.

We were told by the CMs at the concierge desk at AKL that DVC club level bookings would be eligible for the CL program. No distinction was drawn with regards to room type. They know that we are DVC and that we usually stay in studios and one-bedrooms, so I’m confident that any restrictions on room type would have been mentioned at that point :).

I spoke to Signature Services today. Any Club Level room at AKV qualifies for the FP+ benefit. You need to book two nights and you get three days of passes, so six passes per day per person. All will be reserved 90 days prior to checkout. DSS takes care of it all. No more reserved fireworks area perk though.

I know some of that was already known, just updating the record as of 11/25/18.

So what's the latest CLFP have been booked out to now? A while back we had a report that someone had set theirs up for January 2019. Anyone set for late February? Crossing my fingers that the program keeps going!

My 90 days from checkout for late February is this Wednesday. I've been assuming the program is still up and running, so fingers crossed that it is! I'll report back here after I've made the call. :)

Working on my club level FP plan for HS right now. I'm curious what people do in between Toy Story Land rides. Alien Swirling Saucers and Slinky Dog seem very short. Those of you who have done these in a row, did you end up with time in between? What did you do during that time? It seems much easier to fill the gaps in the other parks. HS has so many longer shows which are not good gap fillers. TIA

My 90 day mark was this Sunday and i must say... this was the most stress-free fast pass gathering EVER!!! Loved the CM I spoke to at DSS (thanks Christina)... While I had a good idea of what FPs I wanted she was able to make some wonderful suggestions re: balancing our day. And... I was able to get Illuminations with my CL FPs. Also booked Fantasmic with the program. However was not able to double up on any of the rides (we tried to get a Club level FP as well as a regular FP for Toy Story Midway Mania but was told that this was not allowed.) All in all a WONDERFUL experience. Can't wait for our 2/17 week visit to the Club level at BWI. (our first CL visit there) Thanks to all of you for your help!!

Not only that, but TSL is down a loooong dead-end pathway, so it's far to the other attractions. Our solution is to do one FPP late in its window, one earlier, then have dinner at Woody's, then do the third early in its window. This would be for all 3 rides- AS2, TSMM & SDD.
