Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE RESORTS Information & Questions

After I book an online rental with Costco I usually check back at least once a week as prices often drop. I have never called. I hate calling, would rather book online, but next time maybe I’ll have to call.

I was frustrated with the site because I couldn't make the exceptions I needed to. The exceptions were VERY minor. When I called, the rep was extremely knowledgeable. Total breeze. He even offered some suggestions for Disneyworld, like REAL ones about Fastpasses and ADR's. Even entered a room request. I gather they have some extra fields they can tinker with.

Again, Costco FTW!
My countdown is getting close. I'm happy it seems as smooth as always, but I'm always expecting some snag. I'm dreading setting foot into the Walmart on my way, but, I'm guessing it's the safest bet for a place to be open if we run into any snags when we arrive that night.

Hi-remind me, do I need to contact s/d to ask for a Disney compatible confirmation number to enter in MDE?
Thanks!

Only if your reservation is made via a third party like Hotwire, Priceline, etc... If make your reservation via Marriott, SPG or directly with the Swan / Dolphin then you just use the "Marriott" Confirmation number (9 digits).

You also need to be sure that all members of your party (e.g., guest 1, guest 2, guest 3, etc.) are listed on the reservation to properly link them. Provided they are all listed in MDE, you simply add them to correctly link.

Thanks for that! So, it’s my kiddos and me...should I call the front desk and have them listed?

Yes, I believe you should contact the concierge and be sure that all members of your party are listed on the reservation. It may take 24 hours for that information to translate to the Disney system. Just be sure that the information is sent to Disney before linking.

Just so I’m understanding correctly, am I asking for their names to be added or just the fact that 2 kids will be with me (Marriott already reflects this btw)?
Thanks for all the help!

The end goal is to have everyone on your reservation to be "named" in the Disney system and shown correctly in your MDE.

In your case, if Marriott correctly shows you and 2 children then you are all set to link the Marriott confirmation number to the Disney system. During the link process you will be able to match your children's names up within MDE. The reason to get all the names setup correctly in MDE is to allow for FastPass+ selections.

Do you already have tickets for everyone?

Yes, and have gotten them linked in MDE. The last time we stayed at the Swan, it was only for 1 night for Galactic nights and I didn’t need the 60 days FP benefit.

THIS!

I just looked at Swan/Dolphin site for a December 2019 reservation. I can't book anything checking in later than October 12th, 2019. I have no idea why I thought I could book farther out than that. Maybe I'm thinking of Disney reservations?

You will only be able to book 350 days in advance (I believe that is from your check-out date). Starwood used to accept bookings up to about 550 days in advace, but that was changed when Marriott came into the picture.

Question about grocery delivery. This will be our 4th year in a row at Dolphin and each year we have used Ultimate Towncar with a grocery stop. This year however we are getting in at 9am(week after thanksgiving) and doubt our room will be ready so we didn’t add a grocery stop so cold food wouldn’t spoil. I’ve seen a few posts that Dolphin doesn’t allow grocery delivery. Is this still true? If so would it be easier to Uber to Publix? How much would Uber be to Publix if so? Is there a better way? It wouldn’t be a ton of groceries as we will bring most of our dry goods.

Anyone with recent experience with status perks here?

DH has been doing the SPG thing for years, and has platinum status. For our upcoming trip, I'm on the reservation, too, along with the kids. Does anyone have recent (post Marriott/Starwood merger) experience with free breakfast? I'm assuming it's still offered, but does it apply to the whole party or just one or two people? When we all travel together, we frequently all get to eat free, but there are some hotels where there's a limit based on double occupancy or something. This is our first Swan stay, and I'm trying to figure out what I need to budget for breakfast.

We've used Amazon Prime Now for delivery to the Swan, worked great. YOu meet the delivery person in the lobby.

I don't know what cold items you would need but I would consider checking the Screen Door General Store over at the Boardwalk to see if you can get what you had in mind. They stock all the basics due to the DVC villas there and you wouldn't need to leave property - prices are a bit high but you'd probably come out a wash with paying for Uber. You can use the Uber app to estimate the fare by searching for Publix and setting the Dolphin as your pickup spot.
