Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

You might be better to wait and ask this question in November because they may bring out a Christmas mug (hopefully!!) which could change the answer between now and then.
I figured the colors of lids won't change much between now and then. If a Christmas mug comes out, we could still bring other color lids to differentiate. I'd love a holiday mug, but not holding my breath since the halloween ones flew off the shelves.

I've been wondering the same about Christmas mugs. I would love to see these avilable at the resorts! I would love it even more if I could manage to get one during our Thanksgiving stay. We're still feeling sad we missed out on the Halloween ones.

Sadly had to cancel our Christmas (week before) trip, but I booked for the week of Easter to make up for it. Now to try to get my ADRs all over again. Can't wait to get back!

Just back from a stay at the Pop Century. 60's Building.
  • The new room was perfectly adequate.
  • The beds were comfy, a nice selection of pillows of different density.
  • The toilet was loud enough spook the dead. I swear I could hear them from at least three rooms away. Kaawoosh!
  • Once the Skyliner opens, this will be a great resort and I'd guess the 60's wing will be in even greater demand. I'll be watching to see what effect that has on price.
  • Note if you are returning to the park, the Art of Animation bus works just as well as one to Pop Century. We saved a lot of time that way. The AoA bus always seemed to come first.
  • The food court was nasty. Long lines for sub par food. If you need to eat while at pop, a short walk to AoA might be well worth it.
  • Overall a better experience for me than All-Stars, and once the Skyliner opens this will be a no-brainer among value resorts.

  • Yes, the toilets are really, really loud!! I felt like I could hear them flushing three rooms away the last time we stayed at Pop! I was sleeping in the bed closest to the bathroom and actually was awakened three or four times our first night by flushing toilets (I am a light sleeper; how I missed the loudness of those toilets the first time we stayed in the renovated rooms is a mystery to me. I must have been totally exhausted, lol). The next night I kept the bathroom closed and had a much more restful night’s sleep.

Other people drinking doesn’t impact me or my health other than them being annoying. Other people smoking DOES impact my health with bad allergies to cigarette smoke, and for others it’s potentially life threatening. Us non-smokers could care less if you want to trash your own bodies, but you have no right to affect my health. Sorry for putting it so bluntly, but your rudeness about those who can’t be around smoke got me riled up, I’m normally a nice person too.

Personally I view Pop Management moving the location of the smoking area to somewhere that everyone doesn’t have to walk through to get to the main building IS listening to both smokers and non smokers. If it was only non smokers they were listening to then they’d remove the smoking areas all together.
We’re not allowed to talk about this anymore on this board.

Can anyone tell me if the creamers that are in the room for coffee are flavored or are they just 1/2 and 1/2? My daughter only drinks flavored ones

Thanks for all the info, excited to stay here for the first time next month - we usually stay at AoA but they were all booked and Pop was on sale, yay!

We are looking to book over the 4th of July. Anyone with inside it even simi-inside knowledge have an idea or odds on if the SkyLiner will be active yet?

The "insiders" on a different board are saying that it should be operational by May and transporting guests by mid-summer (saying they will need 2-3 months for testing, training, trial runs, etc). I think there's a small chance it might be running by July 4th but it will depend on how things go once it's operational and they can begin all the testing/training. It's still too soon to tell for sure.

My last stay at All Star Movies they gave me regular creamer and French Vanilla

We are booked at Pop during Christmas week. Does anyone know if they decorate the windows or doors at this resort? I want to make sure we plan ahead. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas that would be much appreciated.

Yes, some people do choose to decorate their windows. I would guess a google search might show some examples until others share their ideas here.

We've decorated our window at AoA and Pop before. Just make sure you don't use anything that will leave a sticky film for Mousekeeping, or will ruin the walls. I think it looks so festive!

Here's the window I decorated a few years ago.

When are 15's and cheerleaders at POP? We are going to be there from May 1-8 and I know there will be a cheer-leading competition during that time but is POP one of their resorts?

I checked Google and they only had a few ideas-I think I know what I am going to do but wanted to get some other input. Thanks so much!

All value resorts have 15’s and sports teams that stay st them. That being said, I’ve yet to have them affect our trip in a negative way, even when staying in the same buildings.
