Watch out for the camels, they spit.

Looking gorgeous as ever, Darcy mate....
may be one of the last until spring. Leaves are starting to turn though. I love the Fall colours.

You've been watching this again Jeff, haven't ya.

Okay, I just scrolled back through and looked for my posts. I thought I'd put something on here, but I'm not seeing it. Oh wait, I must have because Randall posted his really good job gif and Norm posted his emptying his RV tank on my lawn in his robe comment.

I got the job in Orlando. Start down there on the 22nd.
Things are a bit hectic right now. Normal job, umpiring, paperwork for new job, house hunting (rent for first year or buy), which area...short commute or lower price, trying to figure out logistics of who's moving and when, sell our house here or rent it, etc. etc.

I'm excited, but my new TR will be very slow going until I get settled down there.

Yes, you told us but didn't give us details. The 22nd of October? That is fast. I'd go with the rental thing and take your time to look for houses. Of course, I'm not the one smart enough to move to Florida and get a job, so maybe don't listen to me. :lmao: :sad2:

Cheers CJ, you are deeply missed…
Joining! DISDad number one of a two dad household.
Welcome to our little piece of a happy place.

Congrats Doc

Winter BBQs are great, as long as you can get the grill in a sheltered area.
I know several people who do it. I have never tried. I have often thought about pulling it into the garage for the winter and using it that way, but I only have a 1 car garage and prefer to use it to park a car.

I hoping to get out on Monday to get a few pictures before turkey dinner #3.
I only have 2 turkey dinners. Heading to the in-laws overnight Saturday, turkey on Sunday, then back to town for my parents on Monday.

It would be CJs birthday today, raise your tea cup in honour.
I had a busy day yesterday and didn't get on FB, I only noticed that this morning. I do miss him around here. I will be sure to raise a glass for him tonight.

So do the Princesses, but more about that on Friday.

Don't knock Bob. Any man with the balls to sport a 'fro like that, has to be doing something right.

Knew about the job, but didn't realize when it would be starting. Good luck with the move and transition. I would be tempted to do what Norm suggested, rent for a while until you get to know the area better and decide to buy then.
Take your time with the trip report, your readers will be there when you're ready. I've been enjoying writing mine and trying to get an update out each weekend, but it does take a fair chunk of time.

Hey, congratulations, Doc!:thumbsup2

Good luck in your new life, Doc! Just my two cents as an old guy. If you can buy a house, if that is what you want to do, do that instead of renting. Why move twice when you can only move once.

Morning boys from a foggy London. It feels like Sherlock Holmes should be solving something, and we should all be going round in top hats and horse drawn carriages. And no, that's not normal for the comedians of you out there.

Congrats Doc, good luck with the move. I would buy, but I hated the year I rented for a job with a passion. Mainly due to the hasbian Ballerina I was living with at the time (she was a frickin' nutcase), so I'm probably not the best litmus test for renting property for employment.
Welcome aboard! Always good to have another Dad from Massachusetts in here!
Yeah, because that's the vastly under-represented demographic on here (cough)

Bob. Is. The. Man. If I ever can't sleep at 2-3AM, I mosey on downstairs and stick Bob Ross on. Works like a charm. I didn't know you were doing a TR, I'll jump in.

Have a good Friday chaps.
I'll try and be back later, but I'm halfway taking my radiators off in the back room, and the Lady K will expect to see progress.

These are the two competing ideas I have bouncing around in my head. You guys hit the nail on the head.

If I rent, I'm paying someone else's mortgage and I have to move twice, but it gives me the ability to learn the area.
If I buy, I only have to move once, but if I end up hating the area, then I'm possibly stuck or move twice anyway.

That is the dichotomy I'm in.

Also, even though I'm getting a good bump in pay, if I don't sell the house here, then I'm paying two mortgages or one mortgage and rent. I'm excited, but it's also kinda stressful.

As I mentioned before, there will be a spare bedroom which although DW might call it something else will be the DISdad room. Okay, fine...might be kids or grandkids room as well. It won't be on property, but I guarantee you'll have great Southern hospitality and the best price around.

A very good point. It's not an easy decision either way.

:thumbsup2 Been there, done that!

Yeah, I started one a few weeks ago. I didn't bother to advertise here. I didn't want anyone to feel obligated to read. I know some of the Dads are into trip reports, others aren't. If you jump on mine, I appreciate the read. If not, no worries.

Hmmm....I will have to keep this in mind. Might be able to do a solo trip one of these days....

Morning from sunny Fredericton. In case you all missed it, another New Brunswicker popped up on one of our other threads last night. We're taking over!!

Should be a quiet day in the office heading into the long weekend. Might get to see some baseball before packing it in.

You mean you don't always dress like this?

We don't have a garage but our lower deck is sheltered a bit so I have used it down there a few times. As long as it doesn't get too cold for the propane.
