Yes, we were upgraded to Villa. One bed and a sofa bed. Beautiful room! Partial view of the Villa pool. I think they may have overestimated DVC interest and underestimated regular cash rooms here.
Do you remember if the coffee cups in the Studio Villa were real dishware or paper products? I like the Duncan Hines cake in a mug things for a quick breakfast some mornings and am debating packing a mug to use for my September stay. Thanks!

People have suggested that if you do not have real glasses or mugs in your studio, you should call housekeeping to request them. But if it were crucial to my plans, I would bring my own.

Just got back from a stay at both BCV and PVB and both resorts had glass mugs and paper. I’d expect the other resorts to have the same.

They are in the process of removing all the real items out of the studio and replacing them with paper products. If you need a real mug, you'll want to either bring one from home or buy a new souvenir one from the store.

That is what I thought. But then I stayed in a refurbed studio at OKW last month and it only had real mugs, lol. I will just bring one and then I won't have to worry since doing a split stay with BWV and AK Jambo.

I'm booked at the Wilderness Lodge next April in a Nature View room. I stayed here in 2014 overlooking the Otter Pond. Does anyone know the exact difference between the Nature and Nature Fireworks view? Are the Fireworks view just on the higher floors?

The category is so new that we haven't had anyone report back yet as to what kind of room is the nature fireworks view. We had a nature view room on the 2nd floor overlooking Otter Pond and we had a partial view of the highest fireworks. That same room on a higher floor would probably have a good fireworks view.

Thanks! Guess I'll have to wait until next year. I'd like to make a room request, but I don't want to request something I can't have! :)

We just returned yesterday from a 5 day stay at Wilderness Lodge. We stayed in room 4024, which was a Nature View w/Bunk Beds (surprise upgrade!) and we could see all the MK fireworks because we were just high enough to not have trees block the view.

With the high premium placed on the nature fireworks view rooms, I expect that they would be the select few with the very best view. We had three high floor rooms right next to each other, and one of the three had a perfect view while the other two were nice but slightly obstructed. I would think the perfect view one might be classified at the higher price, but the others would not.

I expect that there will be many regular nature view rooms with fireworks views, and it never hurts to request what you want as they will often do whatever they can to meet the requests. Happy planning and have a great trip.

Thank you! It would be great to have even partial fireworks view. I'll definitely be watching this thread as people start staying in these new room categories next year.

Hi all! We are booked in November 2018 with a Nature view room. Does the new "nature fireworks" category only apply to 2019 bookings? If we request a high floor with a firework view, is it even possible to get it with our booking? I realize that it is only a request and they are not guaranteed. Thanks!

Hi!! Anyone knows about changes in Roaring Forks menu? They have regular french fries now ir only tar fries? Thanks!:earboy2:

We have been planning our first trip to Disney world in December for some time. Booking a year out. We didn’t go last Christmas as wanted to stay at wilderness lodge and avoid the refurbishment.

It looks like from Humphrey’s post we will be affected by the recently announced refurbishment.

We were put off last time by the visual appearance of the main lodge area with all the screens up detracting from its beauty. Does anyone know if these are likely to be in place again in December?

Also we have booked a courtyard bunk bed room ( one of the main reasons along with the lobby) we chose the lodge. It looks like these are being removed. Does anyone know what will happen to our reservation now?

The bunk bed removal is particularly disappointing as we had an offer for club rooms that was only very slightly more that we didn’t take because we wanted each of our children to have a separate sleeping space. Had we known they would not be available we would have booked club level and taken advantage of the club level fast passes.

I wonder too as we booked a long time ago when all the north facing rooms were the same category. At the time I booked I put in my room requests, and now with the addition of other categories my room requests are not right. But guess they’ll see that I put in requests before creation of new categories. I think it’s going to be awhile before all the dust settles because they’ll have all the people who booked before the changes and won’t have enough standard rooms so will be putting people in other categories.

Did you use the sofa bed? Would there still be enough space in room with sofa pulled out? Wondering just in case! I’ve seen BCV and with pull out, there’s not much space left.

If my memory is correct CCV has some of the smallest studios as they are converted hotel rooms, I believe they are even slightly smaller than BCV. We stayed in one in April, and it would have been very tight with the bed pulled out. I don't think anyone can say anything about DVC interest yet, as CCV is not sold out so Disney still owns quite a bit of inventory at the resort, but it has been selling quite briskly.

Good to know in case this happens to us. We would need the pull out, only me and adult dd but we prefer having our own beds.

Yeah, I personally, would not agree to being switched to a CCV studio if at all possible if I were going to use the bed and sofa bed, it would be very tight.
