Hopefully someone with a more recent stay at the Poly will chime in! They are still being advertised on the WDW website (though I didn't check specifically at the Poly). I know for a while they suspended watercraft rentals after the tragedy with the child and the alligator at the Grand Floridian but I feel like I have definitely seen the Sea Raycers out since then.
We’re here now. My DD is planning on doing this on Monday, so I’ll report back:thumbsup2 We did do them in September though

:wave2:Lol! I find so many ways to spend more money on the DIS!
I mentioned the cabanas and my husband said I'll never use it and only go the lava pool.....but still, I might need it!:rotfl::rotfl:
I'm taking a resort day while my family goes to AK. I will be spending the entire day at the pool. I don't want to have trouble finding a chair by the pool. I like the idea of having my own quiet retreat at the Oasis pool. Then whenever they return to the Poly for a swim, the Cabana will be waiting for them.

That sounds like a relaxing, wonderful day!
We have a down day planned and I thought the cabanas would be a good way to stay out of the sun for a bit. I just wish the cabana was at the lava pool!

Yup they have them, $32/30 minutes. I’m sitting on my balcony watching them out there now.

Can someone describe the leis that you get at the Grand Ceremonial House upon check-in? Are they live flowers and greens or are they silk? Just wondering if I will be able to bring it home and hang it up somewhere or if it will be dead and brown by the end of vacation.

Think cheap plastic. Itchy cheap plastic at that! We usually hang them in the room somewhere - but they don't make the trip home with us. (Have to sneak them in the trash while the kids aren't looking!)

Trying to think of something other than the fact we are in the middle of an ice storm on April 14, ugh! So, I'm directing my focus to our August trip :)

Can anyone update on what IS considered standard view now? Are both sides of Rarotonga considered standard view? I'm very torn about what to request (I know it's just a request - but it's worth a shot!). I don't know how I feel about facing the monorail. I'd prefer to be facing the Oasis pool, but unsure if that type of room would be in a pool/marina view - so I'd hate to request it when it's not even a possibility. We previously stayed in Fiji, facing the beach, and absolutely LOVED it! It's my understanding, that side of Fiji is still standard view. But when we visited the Poly 3 years ago, it was when the Oasis pool was under construction, so we wanted to avoid the mess that went with it. Now, it might be nice to be closer to the pools. Any insight?

I always make the kids get them and they always take them off immediately! Way too itchy. I hang them on the wall lights by the bed. Room decorations!

Hey Mickynut1. You might know this..when did the Polynesion rename the long houses? They did quite a name shuffle especially for those of us early guests.

Sorry for the long delay, I've been hit or miss on the Dis the last few days. I actually didn't know when the long houses were renamed, but I see Dave006 answered :).

Got the email this morning - our magic bands shipped!!! woohoo!!!!!!! 30 days!!!!

:cool1::cool1:

I'm so happy today-we paid our reservations off in full-what a wonderful feeling!

Congrats! That is a great feeling! :jumping1:

Sorry for this repeated question...I know it's been discussed but I can't find...what bathroom amenities are in the CL rooms at Poly (specifically wondering about shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, liquid hand soap, hair dryer?) Brands would be helpful too if anyone knows. Thanks!

I know they are H2o as they have always been but not sure what they include now, normally it was a bottle of shampoo, conditioner and lotion all in Sea Salt I think? I would call housekeeping daily if you need more

One side of Rarotonga has views of the Oasis pool (even # rooms). We stayed on the monorail side in Feb and loved it. Plenty of trees if you want to sit out on the balcony. Super close to everything and easy to get a cup of coffee in the morning. Quick walk to TTC. I’d request that building again if we stayed standard.

I literally had a different selection of toiletries EVERY time I stayed at Poly this year... :confused3

Bathroom was in good physical shape. My last bathroom was showing a little bit of age, this one was fine.

In case his photos don't come through with my quote, here's the link to @GADisneyDad14's excellent room tour pics from earlier this year. https://www.disboards.com/threads/d...-and-questions.3414590/page-680#post-58645054

Looks like your mileage may vary with the toiletries but I have never received liquid hand soap at WDW. I pack a pump bottle of hand soap or use shower gel.

Hi - I'm arriving at the Poly on Friday and can't wait! My question is related to transportation to get to MK for a PPO reservation at Be Our Guest. I'd like to arrive between 7:30 and 7:45am. I see in the times guide the monorail is running starting at 7am. How accurate is that? So if I'm waiting at the platform at 7:30am I should be at the park by 7:45am - correct? If anyone has had recent experience with travel times I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
