Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

I am booked in a SV villa on cash for an upcoming trip. I was thinking of putting in a room request based in the the location of standard view rooms, but now I am unsure what to do. Should I stick with my original request? Should I forgo the request and hope for a better view? Make a request for a pool or garden view room?

Any recommendations or experiences are appreciated.

Update, I decided to put in a request and ended up with the room next door!!! I was surprised and and pleased to have the request met so closely. I think stating my rational and priorities for the particular request helped in having it met.

Hi there! I’m currently looking at booking a stay at the BoardWalk next year. Between booking a room at BWI or renting DVC points for a studio at BWV, the latter is much cheaper (would save us more than 50%), so that seems the way to go.

However; from the photos I noticed that the decor / furnishing of the rooms on the BWV side is much more simple and basic than the BWI side, which looks a lot better.

Are the rooms at BWI really a lot nicer? And worth a lot of extra money?

Thanks so much!

Hi there!
I have a question about cash BRV rooms and view categories. I have read that studios paid with cash through Disney are usually a garden or pool view, even though it is listed as a standard view.

Is this also true for the 1 Bedroom villas? With the passholder discount I was able to get a 1 bedroom for the same price as our studio rack rate (disney math, right?) So I was wondering what the chances were of having a garden/pool view.
Thanks!
For a cash reservation through Disney, a standard view will usually get you what is called a preferred view on points (since they comprise 60% of the villas and BW view and BW Standard are usually booked up quickly at 11 months out). Preferred will usually be pool/garden.

We have done both the BWI and BWV (1bd rm villa) and thought the decor was about the same.

We like the BWV side better because we can rent a villa, closer to the main pool and closer to walk to DS. But they are both in reality not that far from anything and it's really not that much farther from one spot to another.

You can't go wrong with either side!

Thanks for the replies folks. I'll check in about the key cards - old magic bands will get too confusing with their own......

Boardwalk wait list comes through again! I had a split stay (views, not resorts) for December. Waitlisted the two pool view days for Boardwalk view and got notified today. Rarely fails.

You can get waitlisted for a particular view? How? Thanks.

I was doing some research on this rainy Saturday and found BOARDWALK TO GO. They have hot dogs, cheeseburgers, pulled pork and other fast food options. It looks like a food chart located on the Boardwalk. This may solve my lunch dilemma on arrival day. Does anyone know if it is always open or if the food is decent for a quick meal?

It is know as a food Kiosk and it is by the Bakery / Pizza window on the Inn side of the Boardwalk. It serves Lunch / Dinner / Snacks ( 11 AM - 11 PM ) with seating limited to outdoor options only. There are some tables & benches in this area and benches all along the Boardwalk. We have been know to grab a bite there, while not a 5 Star Michelin option the food is good.

ETA: If you are considering the Boardwalk To Go Kiosk then add the Boardwalk Bakery or even the Screen Door on the (Villas) side of the boardwalk for "Grab & Go" sandwiches and salad options.

Thanks Dave. The kids have looked at the Bakery and Screen Door info - and not interested in anything there... LOL

I have an unusual question! Are the air conditioners at BWI very noisy? This is our first time staying here and every time we stay at the Poly, the air conditioners are so loud it’s difficult to get to sleep - even after an exhausting day! Just curious- thanks!

Nope.

We will be arriving at BWV around 11 am. Can someone make a suggestion for quick service lunch somewhere near the resort. Two teenage boys and myself. After lunch we will walk to HS and start our vacation. The kids will not want to wait for lunch at HS. Trying to avoid the pizza window. lol
try ESPN. My boys love it.

I think OP was asking for quick service, and ESPN is not quick service.

I keep linking AllEars.net because you can search by dining locations, and it includes kiosks. On the BoardWalk itself you are pretty much limited to the BoardWalk Bakery, the pizza window and the kiosk across from the pizza window. Or I guess the pool bar has food.

I did not notice that they were noisy and we would notice.

We like noisy and bring a fan/white noise machine with us.
