Official Wine & Dine 2018

I’m probably the only one, but I’m glad it got delayed. Dh and I won’t know until maybe the end of March if we can go so it’s nice to have a better chance of getting to go. We really want to try our first half marathon!

Shoot. Accidentally hit enter before I posted the screenshot of my DVC page about the races. They've taken away all pre-registration info for not just W&D but for the Marathon, too (which I'm pretty sure was up there). They do have the Princess and Dark Side dates for 2019 here at least. Not sure why RunDisney doesn't... weird.

Your logic is sound, and that may be the problem with your conclusion. Almost nothing RunDisney has done over the past week has made much sense from a logical standpoint.

Brilliant! and sadly, quite true.

I had my eye on this race since I have an offer to rent some DVC points and am looking to blow them before end of next January. This delay keeps me from having to explain to my decidedly non-Disney enthused husband why I am going back after I said never again!

Maybe runDisney is ditching active.com? (Or is that just wishful thinking!)

Wine & Dine (Full) Marathon!!!

I don't know about other areas of the country but the number of races using Active.com around me has shrunk to the point that I am totally surprised when I click a registration link and get to Active. I don't work on the race director side of the running aisle but I wonder how they managed to bleed so much market share if that is the experience everywhere. I just checked my current registrations and only on is Active. The rest are RunSignUp, ChronoTrack, GetMeRegistered and Events.com (including Events.ie for a race in Ireland I'm doing).

I would say there is no reason RunDisney isn't using a Disney system for race registration but they aren't exactly know for great customer facing systems either. They are probably better off using a third party.

Maybe but you hope they would’ve planned that prior to a race registration.

So when we do we get runUniversal. They should seize on the opportunity. :D:D:D

The only way we’re doing that is if they bring The Walking Dead attraction to Orlando and have a TWD themed race. Other than that, no interest from our family. Though I’m sure some out there want to run with Potter. :)

I'm about to register for run and ride at my local cedar fair park. I'm sure It won't he as fun, but I bet it's a bit more organized...and cheaper...closer to home...

That's what I was thinking. Maybe they got some sort of custom solution from someone and it wasn't delivered on time.
Or maybe they know they don't want active but haven't decided on what to use instead yet ...

The package I booked for this weekend was only available to book from Princess weekend until March 3rd. You only had to book a room plus registration. No ticket was required which was good for me since I have an AP.

In case I was blurry in what I was saying, they are selling actual Dvc memberships based on race weekends and early registration. Like people paying tens of thousands of dollars for Dvc in order to link up with registration.

I didn't realize about the IT department coming from Amazon. I'd definitely expect better.

Well not all of them, lol. But enough of DH’s former colleagues have gone over you would think they’d know better.

I'm glad you brought up the CCV. I was just commenting to a friend that I was *so* glad we hadn't bought one of the guaranteed weeks.

Yep.

I was unsure of the way they worded the registration bit, so even if I wanted Ccv I would have had to ask more pointed legal questions. But it’s certqinky their sales spiel, and many read it differently than I did.

runDisney looks like they are messing with other stuff.

How embarrassing for them.

If only.

So, I have this fuel here, might as well throw it on! :)

My wife and I are both Legacy for W&D Half and since year 6 we've been getting emails anywhere from 3-5 days before registration reminding us about registration. This year, nothing. I don't think that speaks to any huge conspiracy about the race, but it is telling about RD's rather awful lack of communication.
