Cousin, eat until you sleep! Mom/Dtr. Trip, 2/17-2/24/18.*NEW TR Link* 5/1*

Cont from the last post.....

We headed out of Epcot to BC resort, it took us awhile to figure out how to get to Beaches and Cream without going through the pool area. I didn’t think we could go through the pool because we were not staying there. We finally found a route to get there. Our ADR was at 11:10 so we did get right in. I had never been in here. Such a cute place but like everyone says it is very small.

We had a very nice waiter, he brought us ice water right away and let us review the menu. We decided to share today because we wanted a sundae. We started with the loaded fries, there are different choices and we went with the cheese and bacon fries. These were loaded with cheese, bacon, onion, and a peppercorn ranch. The fries were very good, hot and fresh with a good amount for sharing.

We decided to share the Chicken sandwich, this was grilled chicken with cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and ranch dressing. Do you see a theme here. Andi loves ranch dressing. This sandwich was delicious, it sounds so basic but the bun was fresh, lettuce was crisp, bacon was done perfectly and the grilled chicken was done perfectly. I was very happy with this choice. We so often split a burger and this was a nice change. During our lunch, 2 different parties ordered the kitchen sink, so this was fun to watch the lights flickering and the ceremony that happens before the delivery of the kitchen sink. The one party that ordered it was 3 late teen girls and they ate a few bites and spent the rest of the time on their phones:confused3 why girls, such a waste, oh well to each their own.

Andi and I decided on the Fudge Mud Slide for our sundae. This has a nice chewy brownie covered with hot fudge and 3 scoops of vanilla and Oreo cookies, whipped cream and more chocolate sauce. This was so good. I haven’t had a sundae in ages so I really enjoyed this. I would say we put a pretty good dent in it.
I was full and happy when we left. Andi’s friend from Minnesota had arrived with her mom at the Swan. They were so happy to be here out of cold Minnesota, they were at the pool area waiting for their room to be ready. We walked over to visit with them for awhile, it was so nice, do I dare say it was actually really hot sitting by the pool with them.

We made plans to meet them later at DS, they were not starting in parks until tomorrow so this worked well for us. We didn’t know if we would get to DS this trip so I was happy to shop and eat with them this evening. Andi and I walked back to Epcot, we didn’t spend much time in the WS, we planned to do that another day. We decided to do the Visa meet and greet instead of Character Spot because the FP line was long and we were not feeling the wait. The Visa greet was so fun as usual. We always have a good character experience here. Today, it was Minnie and Pluto.

We decided to head out after this, I had wanted a pp in front of the park with the Festival arts decorations but the pp wasn’t there on our way out. Oh well, maybe tomorrow. We did get this one before heading to the Visa meet.

Monorails were great for us this trip, never had to wait long, almost always were able to sit and no breakdowns yay!:dancer:

Stay tuned for Day 2 Part 2. A new dining experience with friends!

Nice morning in Epcot! The chalk art and artwork is all so pretty!

All your food at Beaches & Cream looks really good! Glad you enjoyed it, it's so cute in there.

Love the pics from the Visa Character Spot!

Beaches and Cream is our first stop when we arrive on the 24th this month :goodvibes Going to start the trip by getting disgustingly full lol. We've been there twice but unfortunately the last time I was in the midst of my 2015 Thanksgiving stomach bug and didn't get ice cream, so there's a No Way Jose sundae with my name on it! Your chicken sandwich looks good, also. I've gotten the grilled cheese and tomato soup before and love it but I think it might be too hot to be a soup day when we're there.

Following along, sorry you were so ill. We were there for the same week.

Where did Andie get her EPCOT shirt? I love it!

We were off and on a monorail in no time, Lime monorail this morning. Yes, the two security checks are still in play, ugh! I hope some creative mind at Disney fixes this soon, I mean look at the animatronic in NRJ! Come on people there must be a way to funnel the monorail people directly to the park lines so no one else can slip in there, maybe??

I agree! This is so frustrating!

Wow! These are amazing!

I had never been in here. Such a cute place but like everyone says it is very small.

I remember being really surprised at how small it is inside when we first went. But definitely a good spot!

The one party that ordered it was 3 late teen girls and they ate a few bites and spent the rest of the time on their phones:confused3 why girls, such a waste, oh well to each their own.

What a waste! That thing is huge and expensive! Why!?

Monorails were great for us this trip, never had to wait long, almost always were able to sit and no breakdowns yay!:dancer:

Nice! You had very good luck this trip!

Here was the morning view from our deck, not sure what the smoke is but so nice to look at and drink my coffee, while Andi gets ready.

Amazing view :love:

Totally agree! That's kind of annoying!

It is so cute in there, though we don't make it a point to get to each trip. The ice cream at The Plaza is just as good to us, and usually more convenient.

Those look yummy!

Decadent! It's nice to splurge on vacation, isn't it? :-)

I agree! ::yes::

Fun! I've never been to B&C, but would love to give it a try someday.

Yum! Looks delicious.

Great update, love the pictures in Epcot :goodvibes And your shirt is awesome!
I am in the old version club on many rides:flower3:
I would definitely go back to B&C, food was good.
Epcot was so colorful in FW with all the art work! Thanks I got the shirt at Kohls, excellent price and the saying fits for sure!

I really enjoyed checking out the artwork! We didn’t do the paint by number mural because we forgot about it, oops.!
B&C was really fun and very good. Have you been?

:welcome: Glad to have you here! Wasn’t the weather awesome that week? How did you feel about the crowds? I thought it was pretty busy for sure.

She got it from either Redbubble or Tee public, both websites have some unique Disney shirts:thanks:

I always worry about monorail travel because of all the horror stories I hear but it was wonderful, except for the double security, yuck:crazy2:

I couldn’t believe the teenage girls just ignoring that huge kitchen sink, ugh! They literally took 2-3 bites each then back to the phone:confused3

Amazing view :love:

I’m jealous you will be at BLT soon, I so enjoyed it!
Th loaded fries were very good, we had them at the Plaza too in August and really enjoyed them, yummy!
What a treat to have a decadent ice cream sundae!

Time to continue with Day 2, Part 2. DS, new dining experience with friends!

Andi and I had a nice relaxing afternoon at BLT, we did check out the pool area and the activities in the pool area. We of course, did not swim (Andi has a pool phobia) but it was fun checking out the area.

We went over to The Contemporary to get the bus to DS, I noticed a new design on the screens with the bus times. We didn’t have to wait long before we were on our way to DS. It was a beautiful evening, a nice breeze to keep us a little cool while we shopped around.

Can anyone guess our first stop? It was Uniqlo. We love this store. I usually always find something I can’t live without. I found a really cute pair of linen shorts, they felt and looked really comfortable but I decided to wait and never did go back for them. My wallet was probably happy. We saw a new store called The Disney Corner? I think that was the name of the store. It was really cute, I forgot to get a picture. It had all the usual Disney clothes plus some unique items. It had children to adult areas.

We went to the Co-op area and checked out the cutest Mary Poppins dress, purses, and backpacks.
Here are a few pictures of those items. I loved the SW backpack, WOD was a big chaotic mess, a small area was only open and just way to crowded for us so we peeked in there and left. The WOD is being remodeled. Basin was calling us for some hand washing, we exfoliated our hands with some really nice smelling scrubs. Andi was texting with her friend and we met up with them by Uniqlo. They both had found some clothes they couldn’t live without. We hadn’t really planned an ADR because I wasn’t sure what they would be in the mood for, so when we talked about dinner, they were pretty flexible and enjoy most types of food. Andi’s friend is a vegetarian so that was the only thing we really took into consideration. It was pretty busy in DS this Sunday evening. We were all hungry and didn’t want to wait to long so we settled on an ADR at Bongos.

Bongos is huge and was busy, we did get seated right away but it felt like it was miles away from the entrance:scared1:. We were seated upstairs on the patio, it actually was a very nice spot, with a great view of DS and the balloon. We had a nice waitress, she got us water and took our drink order. I decided on the red sangria. This was very good! Andi and I decided to share some appetizers. We went with the Baked Cuban Empanadas, fresh baked and served with guava bbq sauce. We got one of each, which were chicken, pork, ground beef, and spinach. These were delicious, the spices with the filling was so good. We really enjoyed these. We also tried the Lechon Flatbread, award winning roasted pork, mozzarella cheese, sweet plantains, organic honey, and truffle oil. This flat bread was also a winner. Wow, so tasty, the plantains and honey added a slight sweetness which complimented the pork with the cheese and truffle oil. Our friends had a Cesar salad and the Cuban Risotto, this came with flank steak or vegetarian style so they had it without the meat. I didn’t take a picture of their food but they loved it. The risotto looked delicious! This was a great choice for us, it was different and new, plus the food was delicious. Service was fine but rather slow. We enjoyed visiting so it was fine with us. Two thumbs up!

Our friends were very tired since they had been up since 3:00am so we all decided to head back to the resorts shortly after dinner. Andi and I did go in Amorettes and bought a mini Mickey dome cake to try. We brought it back to the room and tried it. I thought it was very good. It was like a mousse texture. Andi didn’t like it very much. More for me, I saved the rest for morning. This was a wonderful evening at DS. Another great Disney Day in the books!

Food totals for Day 2
B&C=$35.91
Bongos =$42.00
Amorettes =$8.52
Total =$86.43

We of course, did not swim (Andi has a pool phobia) but it was fun checking out the area.

Is that for all pools or just public pools? I know a lot of people who won't go in public pools because it skeeves them out. It's weird because I am usually very squeamish and a germ-o-phobe, but public pools don't bother me. Probably because I grew up swimming in a pond :rotfl:

We went over to The Contemporary to get the bus to DS, I noticed a new design on the screens with the bus times.

Pretty and more colorful :goodvibes

It's so pretty, who cares what it tastes like :thumbsup2

B&C was really fun and very good. Have you been?

I have been once and really enjoyed it! Even though I didn't even get ice cream when I went, so I guess that's a good reason to go back :thumbsup2

What a nice evening at DS! Sounds like you made a good choice in going to Bongo's! What a great photo of the 4 of you with your nice view!

Oh really? Is it a germ thing, or a swimming thing? If it's not personal, of course. We don't typically do a lot of swimming, but it's mostly just because I hate being wet and have to get dry more than once or twice in the run of a day. We broke down and swam a bit in the summer though.

We went to the Co-op area and checked out the cutest Mary Poppins dress, purses, and backpacks.

I loved the Mary Poppins stuff!!

This is such a cute little bag! I almost took this one home with me, but I restrained myself.

Nice picture! It sounded like you had a really nice visit :)
