The Bachelor Arie

I think the show is scrambling to make everything alright for Becca as Arie & Chris, (maybe others, like Lauren?) have gotten threats in social media. Now they are trying to gloss everything over in Bachelor Nation that everything is fine now.

Chris to all the girls: "None of you knew each other before."

None of them had signed non-disclosure agreements before.

They only have each other to talk over things with.
I really liked the ‘girl pile’. It was super cute.

Nah. The whole thing has been scripted for weeks.

At one time, the producers DID care (somewhat) about the contestants - at least, the Bachelor(ette) and the F2. But when it became obvious that more than likely the current couple would end up broken up too, the producers changed tactics.

I don't think the producers ever cared too much about the contestants. By far and away the #1 thing they care about is ratings.

Slightly O/T, but does anyone follow Reality Steve? How does he find out everything ahead of time? Is there a mole in the production?

He is just all over the place. I've met him a few times. A girl I worked with is a personal friend of his (I witnessed this when he came up behind her and gave her a hug). They met at one of his appearances. I wouldn't be shocked if he was using this just to move his racing career along/ try for the Indy 500 again.

I assume it’s someone in production or perhaps the contestants. The whole thing was over by the time the show aired.

I don’t check reality Steve until after the show is over. I was spoiled once and it was hard not to spoil it for others.

He probably does it the same way TMZ gets their stuff. Has several sources all over the place. As far as I know, TMZ doesn't really do spoiler stuff, so Steve may even use the same people, as it wouldn't be a conflict of interest. They are camped out at the airports anyway for TMZ. It would be easy for him to slip someone $50 & say, "Be on the look out for this person. She's now the new Bachelorette. Let me know when she comes & goes, and if she looks sad & weepy or really happy & in love." And every time they get dirt, they get another $50.

Lauren and Arie on Kelly and Ryan. They annoy me, constantly kissing and holding hands, ogling at each other. Yuck. I think this is so disrespectful to Becca. I know they are probably obligated to do press, but the whole engagement and constantly caressing and kissing each other is a bit much.

I wonder how this season would have played out with all the women had Peter been the Bachelor! I actually thought Becca and Peter would be cute together, especially considering they are both from the same region.

The guys they brought out for Becca were a bit disappointing. No stand-outs for me.

I can see why some people think Becca is the wrong choice for Bachelorette at this point because its too soon, but if not her, then who? No one else would have made sense to announce after all this hype and support around Becca. And now tons of people will tune in to see how slighted Becca can bounce back. It's similar to Jojo who was screwed over by Ben, though not nearly as bad, and then was a fan favorite Bachelorette IMO.

ET just reported, "An ABC exec said, 'They were definitely excited to get this unbelievable ending because the season had been critiqued as boring and was relatively low rated.' Last night's episode came in SECOND behind The Voice, and was up 22% in a key demo. Expect another ratings up-tick tonight [with ATFR.]"

Yeah, the choosing & dumping of Becca was so natural & not scripted by the producers. :rolleyes1 NOT! :sad2:

I don't believe it was "scripted" per se, but given Arie's track record of cheating and womanizing and being unable to commit to ANYTHING (much less anyone), I think they thought it was a very good bet to think he would do something like this. And, since he's dim as a box of rocks, if he didn't do it voluntarily, he could be easily manipulated into doing it. They were right, obviously.

Reality Steve DOES NOT get things from production, at least not directly. He's been sued over this, and he KNOWS he can't get it from them. However, any show like this has people working on it or behind the scenes who are not bound by the same rule that production is bound to follow. Dates are public often. Hotels where they stay have maids, front desk people, etc. He puts his spoilers together from a variety of "sources," which he checks and rechecks before releasing anything. This guy has done this FOR A LIVING for years now (amazing right...). He's very, very good at it, and generally extremely accurate (a few blunders aside).

Since I discovered him, I ALWAYS do the spoilers. For me, it's a great (and highly amusing) way to watch the show. The production company's manipulative tactics become very obvious, and I get a lot of laughs out of the show. It's not about "finding love" (if it ever was, it clearly isn't anymore). It's a show. And, I think it's more a comedy than anything else. I am highly amused by anyone who takes it seriously.

I didn't watch or DVR as I am done...but my friend called to tell me next season is Beccalorette. Insanity. Like I said before, if she went ahead with it? Half-baked. I guess she does have the safety net of saying "in hind-sight, I realize I wasn't ready to get back out there" when it all blows up again. At least I don't feel AS bad about viewing the train wreck now , but they lost me on the ending/choice of Bachelor. Best part, as always, was seeing the various locations and I can do that thru multiple other sources. I just want The Carol Burnett Show back..or the Love Boat if I want to see fake couples.
