SAME...i've been forced to taper due to a cold - like no running at all. totally sucks.
If any of our solo Dopey travelers are looking for anything to do Tuesday night (1/2) - the powers that be on the Disney dining reservations didn't want to let me make a reservation for just one. I have a 9pm for two at California Grill I'll be doing solo!
I'd love to go for a run but our WEEK long forecast is for a deep freeze. -25 (celcius) and colder for the ENTIRE week. I can't stand more than 20minutes on a treadmill-so I'll be going into Doey really well rested
So why didn’t DH feed you bacon while running on said treadmill?What's even more torturous than doing an 8 miler on a treadmill? The smell of DH cooking bacon while doing an 8 miler on a treadmill.
Did a slow 5K on the treadmill today and learned something new -it is really hard to run on a treadmill on a moving cruise ship! The sea wasn’t even that rough, so I would hate to see the gym in rough seas. One poor woman fell off (!), but thankfully was just walking at the time (treadmill wasn’t moving too fast), so she didn’t hurt herself.

you get used to it quick, I went on a 7 day disney alaska cruise and was doing the running deck, tore up my ankles so bad, it hurt to walk, didnt think about it much but later next year did a 14 night disney panama canal cruise and did the running deck and it started to hurt again. I started to do the treadmill and all the pain went away. honestly after 2-3 days you get used to it pretty quick (pacific ocean is alot rougher then the atlantic imo)
doing a cruise just before dopey, man you're brave. I always put on 15-20lbs of over eating on cruises and takes a few weeks just to get back into shape again.
Day 2 I tried the track, but running into the headwind whilst we were moving was intense! I also was being driven insane by people walking three across on the track whilst there were five or six of us trying to run around them, so quickly moved into the gym after that.
I know what you mean about food. First couple of days I ate so much I almost made myself sick, but I’ve had a good couple of days and making some smarter food choices. Tonight at the buffet I did look at the baked potatoes and Mac & cheese and had to tell myself it was too soon to carb load!
Final Port was today. Now have two days (Friday and Saturday) at sea to get back to Miami and from there, straight to WDW! It is getting so close!!!
HA funny thing if you're on the running deck, turn on your gps and track it for the LOL's.
I think it's worse for me being on a ketogenic diet, that I always eat tons of carbs on a cruise (and bloat horribly), and it takes a good week or so to get back into ketosis, I couldnt imagine trying to do dopey right after a cruise it would wreck me.
