A little less housekeeping would be nice

Wow! This is real talent. I was just trying to do something like this with the old song skater boy changing it to painter boy. (We had the painter at our house last week. )Feel free to work on that one. Lol

He was a boy
It was a house
Can I make it any more obvious

He worked in paint
The house was plain
What more can I say

He wanted work
House'll never say
It secretly wanted paint as well

But all of the rooms
Sealed up their lips
They had a problem with his paint chips

He was a P8r boi
House said see you later boi
He wasn't good enough for it

House had solid bones
But it's head was in the twilight zone
it needed to come back down to earth

I think it's misleading because you act like Dreams and the Dis are not connected at times.

I take offense to anyone saying that we are being misleading. I have personally explained the relationship between the DIS and Dreams Unlimited Travel many times on these boards. We have talked about it on the show more than once.

I actually feel like we are incredibly transparent. You see the owners multiple times during the week on various shows and our email/twitter/contact info is available to everyone. We even do Dreams shows that explain how we work as a company - I invite you to go back to our first one we did where we explain the company.

The relationship between the DIS and Dreams is that we share an owner - Pete Werner - but they are run very differently. Again this has been explained before many times. Dreams Unlimited Travel is treated as a sponsor of the DISUnplugged podcast. To equate it to a super bowl commercial for a product is just not accurate. If it were one giant commercial for the travel agency the content would be very different (hence the Dreams Unlimited Travel podcast).

The Patreon sponsorships are voluntary - like everything else. They help offsite the cost of all the podcasts produced by this site and I'm sure you know they have increased significantly over the past few years.

I think it's fair to say that everyone is entitled to their opinions on these boards (and we may not like when other disagree with our opinions) but please don't question my or Pete's integrity when it comes to our businesses.

Now that's a mic drop if I've ever seen one.

I feel bad that you and Kevin have had to defend yourselves and your business here. It's such a ridiculous thing to complain about. I've never once for half a second felt mislead or lied to.

I feel badly that Kevin and John feel the need to justify any of this. Patreon is what it is and helps pay Craig, Ryno, Steve, ect so they are able to produce more, but is entirely optional. We are provided with a free website and message boards, free shows each week, and free Daily Fix videos. Without Parteon supporters I doubt we would have gotten Craig and Kylie's AK or Poly hotel reviews.

A suggestion was made here, and Pete and the team listened. My suggestion... I would sit through a 50 minute commercial about Dreams if there is a hidden 10 of Kevin reviewing Coral Reef again. MAYBE a 20 minute commercial of Dreams upcoming cruises offers with a short video of Theresa getting that ice cream (up it to an hour if she threatens twisted treat unless they open now).

I've worked in the public domain and presented to technical audiences (much more experienced and educated than me) which opened myself, and our company, to an onslaught of negative/constructive feedback. As such, defending a company and it's products is the very nature of a passionate and well-armed employee/owner. A private company that doesn't give transparency to it's customers/clients, would make me more apprehensive about their business practices and products. I don't find that the case with DU or it's majority/minority/equal owner(s).

Now what I do miss is the dining reviews by Kevin and John; that combo with their food descriptors is incredibly entertaining!

AND we're forgetting that this week Pete said he's gonna start trimming housekeeping. This show actually listens to what it's fans say!

A few months ago I was critical of the video segments where Steve would call in. Steve said that he read that thread and started to change to make it a little better. And he's been killing it lately, doing an awesome job.

For a show this successful, it's kinda amazing that they still put so much weight into fan suggestions. They could easily just brush it all off. Plus you get direct communication with some of them, as we've seen in this thread.

This show does a lot right and is willing to change if they think it's going to be better for the audience. But to complain about 5 minutes each show that they dedicate to their business is a little ridiculous.
Yep, I've said that earlier in this "discussion" also. Totally agree.

This!

I have no problem with this. What I do think is a little misleading is when Dreams and Dis are presented as separate entities and then asking viewers to donate to support the Dis on Patreon. It's like if Coca Cola asked me to donate to fund their superbowl commercials.
Coca Cola DOES ask you to fund their Super Bowl commercials.

It's called buying a Coke. You choose whether or not to do that the same way you choose whether or not to fund the Dis through Patreon or even through booking with Dreams Unlimited.

I will say that if you are somehow missing that there is and always has been a direct relationship between the Dis and Dreams then I really don't know what to tell you. That info is right up there in the open and has been from day one.
