Were you offered gift card to opt out of mousekeeping?
Have a great trip ... we will be at POP in 2 days!!!

No and yes. We did OLCI and got the room ready text just before 3PM... while I was still at work in Ohio, lol! So we weren't "offered" in that sense.

However, when we arrived, we stopped by the desk and asked. Got an awesome CM, and same as others reported - $15/nt, length of stay minus one.

Status of building 7? Does it look ready to open?

I'm glad Georgina had a status update on this! We JUST got in so I have no idea! Was going to offer to check but it sounds like the reporting is already done :)

For those going to Pandora... AK has 8AM EMH today. We arrived at the bus stop at 6:30, applying our usual "15 minute wait, 15 minute transit" rule. It's 6:49 and although we've seen busses for MK & DHS, a bus time for AK hasn't even been *posted.*

ETA: Just kidding, as soon as I posted it popped up for 6:59.

can you please post how it went with Pandora.. how long was FoP that early and how crowds were.. we are late in sleepers, but DS is all hyped and now wants to be a morning person and do the mad dash..:crazy2:

products please, shampoo etc.. they are new..

I can take pictures when I get back to the room. :)

On bus now. Our driver seems to be a trainee. Fit *almost* the entire three-row line on it. Next bus posted for 7:14... actually, just revised to 7:13.

I'll post my experiences with crowd etc. We're only going for FoP so we packed no bags. Hoping it helps expedite things.

wow that many were waiting for the bus.. uugh

I am hopeless with photos, but the products are all H2O+ Beauty brand - soap bars are Sea Salt, shampoo and conditioner (both 'revitalizing') are Sea Marine.

I don't like bar soap for showers, it may be the water here not the soap that I don't like, so I use my own shower gel.

Searched thread wanted to be sure, the gondola construction should be primarily in 50's area?

Has it started yet or is there an anticipated start date?

We were shocked at how the entrance to CBR looked in July. Not sure i would want to stay in that sort or work zone as it's just plain ugly.

There is a recent discussion about it on page 396 of this thread. There is also a devoted thread here.

Guests staying at Pop Century in October and November have started getting e-mails alerting them to the construction will be happening during their stay and there could be noise between 9:00 a.m. and dusk. No one has noticed any real noise yet at this point. They've basically been moving equipment into place and setting up barricades in the parking lot and along the bridge. I would think the 50's & 60's will be the most affected as most of the construction will be at the bridge. They're building a boat launch at the end of the lake but I'm unclear as to whether that's a temporary launch that will just be used to get supplies and equipment to the station construction site at the bridge, or if it's a permanent launch that will be used to service the Skyliner station forever.

Interesting, thank you so much for the links. Have stayed at different resorts during construction projects. Noise never bothered me, moreso that were uneasy on the eyes.

The way the construction staging area is in the parking lot/access via roadway seems as though it will limit actual physical intrusion into majority of guest areas other than the bridge to AoA itself. Do enjoy the stroll over to AoA food court.

Normally, I'd request the 50's/60's area, this time the goal would be for the refurbed rooms. Need to do some thinking over the weekend.

For the record, people with an AOA stay are getting those emails now too. I'm concerned enough about the bridge being closed that we might be shifting my parents to AOA from Pop for our visit. :sad1: I think they'd love Pop, but the walk around the lake would put a real damper in our plans. I emailed Disney, but they really can't guarantee the bridge won't be closed during our stay.

At the moment there is nobody working on the bridge, though it is walled off right down the middle. Everyone can still pass. There is construction going on right now between the 50's section and the LM rooms at AofA.

Hi! I have a question about room numbers at Pop century. We haven't stayed at Pop for a few years, we mostly stayed in a Preferred room in the 60's building close to the food court. My daughter is disabled. I just spoke to a cast member and she told me if I could remember the room number she could put it as a request, no guarantee of course. My memory tells me the room number is 4108 does anyone know if that would be the 60's section, preferred room on the first floor near the food court?
Thank-You for any help you can give me.
Thanks,
PammyPoppins

Room 4108 would be in building 4 of the 60's section, first floor, 5 rooms away from the main building. It is a preferred room (pool view) but it is not an accessible room (not sure if your daughter requires any special accommodations in your room). You can see a room layout map in this link. You'll probably need to scroll down a little bit on that link to see the correct map.

Thank-You so much for replying and the great, great info.

We will have a car with us for our Pop stay. Will we be required to park in the corresponding parking lot. For example if I'm in an 80s building can I park in the 90s parking lot?
