"Tapping Out" at FP Touchpoint still okay?

No. If you book 3 FP at HS you can't book anything at another park till you use, or the 3 FP expire. But you can book 1, or 2, FP for HS and as soon as you use 1 FP at HS you can book 1 for Epcot.
Otherwise, you are correct.

You can delete them out and book for the next park without waiting. I do it all the time. You don't have to use 3 at one park to be eligible to get fps for the next park. I don't remember if the next park is limited to 1 at a time or if you can get the difference right away though.

I want to add that the only time this was an issue was for Big Thunder Mountain.
There was a second tapping point at the top of the stairs so mine wasn't actually used.
So now I give my band to my husband to tap and I go shop at the Brier Patch or whatever it's called (under Splash) while they ride.

What you quoted was a slightly different issue but in your situation of a different park it's not an issue period. It's only when it's in the same park that you have problems with deleting/not using and the whole fake tapping, tap and run, whatever you want to call it comes in to play. Park hoping, not a problem. 4th and more and tiers in the same park it is.

that I agree with, your post read like it was changing parks only.

It is getting a bit confusing and 2 different scenarios are being discussed at the same time.
And they work very differently, which makes it more complicated. And where the tap and run can come in to play. But that specific quote was addressing changing parks in response to a question from PP

If you are not park hopping and have a park with tiers you may have a need to use the tap and run if you want to get to additional tier 1 rides faster because if you are not hopping you will have to book 3 FP before you can get additional tier 1 FP in that park. If you are hopping to another park the rules change totally. There is no need to use the tap and run option if you plan to hop. There are other ways to get that to work so I was trying to show some of those options

After reading this thread I'm now a huge fan of fake tapping. In fact, I would love to see a whole thread created and stickied on how to take advantage of this super secret, ultra elite touring technique so everyone knows how to do it and can start wasting.....wait, I mean "upgrading" their chosen fast passes to get to that uber 4th fast pass quicker (so you can get into Mickey's Philharmagic quicker at 3:30pm). Seriously people, start doing this. You ain't cool...unless you fake tap your fastpass!

I don't see anything wrong with this but I am surprised Disney doesnt make you tap the second one for at least the popular lines. What keeps someone from jumping into the FP line after the Tapstile point?

Disney has stopped using the second FP+ touch point for most (if not all) attractions.
A few definitely still use them. Kali river rapids does. I assume because the line is not separate and would be easy for a standby person to jump to the fastpass queue.

Disney is watching you. Always watching. Cameras are everywhere, especially where you can't see them. If it's done often, they will intervene. On rides where this is a real issue 2nd touch points are still used. In general, rails/ropes keep it from happening and it's just not something that happens enough to be an issue where they no longer use them.

Many of them are opened again. depends on the crowd and day. They will use them if needed.

In the context of this thread, you don't need to hit the second one to mark your FP used. I usually have a new FP or moved the time of my next fp before I even hit the second tapstyle.

You're either going to wait at the touchpoint to tap, or in the FP queue. Very rarely do you immediately walk onto a ride with absolutely zero wait with FP+.

Finding Nemo at epcot... Almost always.
The Land (I don't even think it has a FP) A few others too.

Wow! Some people need to put that kind of creativity into something far more important. Seriously...how to 'game' the FP system???? That's sad to me.

Then read the SDFP thread. The only reason I know of it is today is the first day it is officially banned and saw it in disney news blogs. I'm so happy I never knew why I could never get a 4th FP for anything useful.

We've done that before. We had to pick a 3rd FP at HS and there was honestly nothing we all wanted. We did it for the Little Mermaid show and then left to go to another park. No big deal!

you may need to sit down for this, but living with the land used to be a tier one FP. I never understood this one.

but mesa boy2 is right.
Oh, I like the "Living with the land" but I don't think I would stand in a line for more than 5 minutes for it. Certainly wouldn't waste a FP on it (unless it was just for this reason of "Tap-n-Run")pixiedust:
