SDFP: CHANGES COMING!! Beware the 7th of June?!

Not sure what you have in mind. You can't move phantoms, though you could try to delete. To transfer FP you have to be on the same MDE or connected. So all on one MDE is now ideal.
Oh! I thought I could move phantoms. Then I won't worry about it, LOL. Thanks :).

MY other MDE that I have has 3 "fake people" who have magic bands that I take to the parks and make SDFP with every time we go. (We are a party of 3). What Im asking is, with this new change that is coming, is there any way for us to get SDFP on those bands anymore (since they do NOT have tickets?). The 3 of us are annual passholders who have a separate MDE with 3 fake people with magic bands with no attached ticket.
I am no expert, but I am in the same boat with APs and phantom/fakes with no tickets. As I understand it we may be able to still book SDFPs with our ticketless phantoms, but we can't use those MBs at the rides. We have to transfer the FPs (one by one) from our phantoms to ourselves after we have used our 3 "real" AP FPs. The "Change Party Fast Pass" (CPFP) process is explained in the first post on the thread.

If you are going to buy new tickets to do this why not do it this way:
Buy tickets and make sure you order hard tickets. I just like to have those along with the code. If you later choose to use the tickets for park entry, you can use the hard credit card style ticket...you won't need a mb. After buying tickets, add brand new phantoms to your real mde acct. Attach newly bought tickets to new phantoms on real mde. No need to deal w phantom mde anymore except to book overlapoing adr's. If I'm wrong about this, hiro or scrap can delete this?

Sorry didn't mean to be confusing, I realize I wouldn't need MB's if I purchased additional tickets... The new MB would be to use at the kiosks if I didn't purchase additional tickets (since the old used MB's I bought can't be linked to do cpfp) so those are my two options I think besides just not having extra FP lol I can only purchase 2 additional of this particular type of ticket since we already purchased 4 and the limit is 6 so the plan would be to purchase these 2, use them for NBFP reassign to our kids and book them NBFP and do this each night before we go to a park to get all 4 of us to have extra fp for CPFP and then sell the 2 tickets after we get back home...

But would who ever buys the passes (hard copy plastic mailed to them) would they be able to link the tickets to their MDE? My concern is because I would have linked them to use for cpfp could the new owner link them also? The tickets wouldn't be of any use to me besides booking extra fp since they would expire at the end of the year and we live across the country and the tickets are not upgradable so keeping them isn't an option but I wouldn't want to buy and link to use for fp tickets that couldn't be linked to someone else's MDE after I use them for what I need them for. I envy all of you with non expiring tickets!

This is the BIGGEST question that I have and thank you so much for trying to help me! I understand the whole CPFP thing but I am wondering if I can even DOOOO this considering I have 3 Annual passes for my family of 3, and 3 "fake" different bands under a separate, unlinked MDE with NO TICKETS that we use for SDFP every morning we enter a park. I don't even want to BOTHER trying to master CDFP if I cant do it with ticketless magic bands.

I hope one of these experts can chime in for the both of us!

BTW- if what you say is correct, do we still make the fastpasses the same way we did the past few years (in the park, at the kiosk)? I would assume then that we would have to link the "fake bands" and the "fake MDE" to our real one, then "change party" once we use our first 3 to get the next 3?

I think you're right that you'll have to link your 2 MDEs together (and hope they don't MERGE) to be able to do the CPFP process. Hopefully, you created them other MDX with with fake names too.

As I understand it we can make SDFP with the fake MBs but we need to wait to use all 3 of our real FPs so that our AP MBs are enabled to make/accept new FPs. That means that the days of entering one park for rope drop, SDFP for the late morning/early afternoon and then hopping to another park for our AP FPs is gone :(.

*gets bowl of popcorn* Let's watch Disney manage its PR while they try to stuff this genie back in the lamp... ;)

After all, they HAD the tech to NOT have this problem when they launched FP+ but they chose to ignore some very exploitative loopholes!
If they can string people along on 60 day, 90 day, 180 day ADR planning and having them fight for their time slot, and have people in front of computers at 6am EST and subbing to TouringPlans reservation finder, etc... if there are all these hoops to jump through for restaurant reservations, why is this even an IT challenge for the FP+ system, I dunno...

LOL.

He did have a little more information about 3rd party tour guides I had not heard of before. Although, the hyperbole about about a few tour guide employees rope dropping and holding SDFP so THOUSANDS of people can't get any made my eyes roll.
It does seem like Disney never fixes an issue until the 3rd party tour guides get involved. (Saving parade/fireworks spots, GAC).

I don't really see this change as having any effect on "average unplanned once-in-a-lifetime"-type visitors. These "extra" FP+ that were formerly used by SDFP will now be used by those who are already getting 4, 5, 10 extra FP+ "the normal way" anyway.

That's not what was said.

This is all combining to a few people holding FastPass+ options from thousands of folks who are paying admission that day and now cannot find anything they want available.

I completely believe that SDFP users + 3rd party tour guides each holding 3 (or more, depending on how many fake people/expired tickets they have) extra FP+ per day for people that don't exist does indeed equal thousands of FP in total.

In my extremely limited experience I havn't seen anyone else at the kiosks right after rope drop with a bag of magic bands our last couple of trips. The article suggests FP+ for every attraction in the MK for everyone in the party? that's a pretty tall order....

Good point. They don't really care until it impacts their bottom line with other people profiting off the loophole.

I don't see it where people are profiting from the loophole. I see it where the loophole gets so abused, that the "normal" method begins to suffer.

I remember seeing lines for It's a Small World, and the GAC line was actually longer than the normal standby queue! I think that's when Disney had to pull the rug from under GAC.

I'm sure for what these "tour guide" make they just buy tickets and link them to phantom accounts so when they get booked they can do FP+ for the rides a family tells them they want to ride. So they aren't doing it same day but still those tickets aren't being used to enter.

It doesn't matter if he said "This is all combining" or not. A FEW PEOPLE cannot keep THOUSANDS from getting SDFPs on their valid ticketed MBs/tickets. Hence, the big  on my part.
