Magic Kingdom After Hours coming back (DAH); Reviews: Page 18 >>

They can only do DAH when the park closes early. MK stays open much later in the summer, anywhere from 11pm-12am. They do need down time to do overnight maintenance/cleaning, etc.

Last spring many of the DAH nights started at 11 pm. This would not be an issue.

They also have done EMH that late. Last time I did one it was over at 2 am.

My apologies if this has been answered somewhere in the thread, do you need regular park admission in addition to the cost of the DAH ticket?

I'm planning on a May trip and so far I have not added PHs to our package, I'm thinking that I'd rather use that money towards DAH tickets for us.

No you do not. This is a ticketed event just like the Halloween Party.

And like the party they allow you to enter the park early (7 pm) so you can see the fireworks and do rides etc until the DAH event starts. Depending on park closing time that can be a real added value for MK time or replacement for park hopping that day.

Yes, I was corrected many times over, thanks.

Sorry, I didn't see where anyone said anything, but now that I looked back I saw one person did.

Do you think the first two Friday's will be busier than Thursdays with locals having to work? I'm guessing more locals or passholders attend these? Might be completely off. Also, some of these days are pretty low MK crowds to begin with (I'm attending the 2/2 can't wait!)but will be doing Epcot and while I was playing around with FP selections, I was surprised to see 7ds available past the 30 day...I would think more people would be willing to pay for this event in the summer or high months just to avoid the super crazy crowds! Not that I'm complaining! LOL that's exactly why we're going!

It is like the party but you can get in at 4:00, not 7:00 (like the parties)

Even more incentive to put the PH money toward this ticketed event, at least for us.

Thanks HopperFan!

Will it be on your Magic Band? I thought we had to use a lanyard when we get there and show them our receipt/email?
Nothing needed, as long as you purchase via your MDE account. When you enter you get a lanyard, like on a party night and they give you a wrist band when you come in the gates. At 4:00 they sit up a special entrance for DAH guests (there will be a sign)

that reads backwards. a party entrance is at 4, after hours you can enter at 7 (but some claim to get in at 4 on the ticket)
Nope, not backwards at all. We did get in at 4:00, with our DAH pass. We got our lanyard at the gate at 4:00

I just linked it to my band and didn't need to show or pick up anything. Last year it was a lanyard that doubled as a what's opened map you got at the entrance.

It doesn't matter at this event. Empty is no lines. Full is no lines. we're talking empty to the point that oyu can get on 7dmt with no waiting, except for the ride to come in so you can get in it. And if they don't need the seat when your done, you don't have to get off to ride it again.. the only way to get it emptier is to rent the whole place just for your family to be there.

I couldn't tell you who attends, you don't really run into anyone to ask. it's EMPTY.

and yes, I would pay much more if they did this on those stoopid crowded weeks.

oh I follow.. they sure do stress 7pm entrance though. I wonder if they modded their system to support a 7pm or after ticket. I just assumed 4 worked because they didn't want to invest money to make another option for tickets in the system.

That's why I assume it works too. But they do go to the trouble of sitting the special entrance up at 4:00 so in some way they intended it too. Otherwise, they wouldn't have to set the special entrance up till later

guess they learned that guests don't really listen.. :) I'm still working at 4 so I can't make that time.

I would only tell someone what Disney is saying and that is 7 pm. We were told by Guest Relations we could get in at 7 without a regular ticket and that is what Disney has on the website as Main Entrance entry time. I know it has worked out for some as 4 pm, but I wonder how many of them had valid day tickets already anyway. I suppose I don't want to share that and have someone plan on it, then it not happen.

"Official check-in for the event will take place at the Main Entrance to the theme park beginning at 7:00 PM."

But that is exactly what it says for party tickets too. Pretty sure it doesn't list anywhere in writing that you can get in at 4:00. And you can, and have been able to, for years.

It's not just a one off, random thing. They sit the check points up at 4:00, where they distribute lanyards/wrist bands, at 4:00, at the front turnstiles. There is no doubt you are entering with your event pass, not park admission. Not as long as you enter in that specific turnstile.

This thing is still new and not years of proven procedure. Getting in at 4 pm for a MNSSHP and MVMCP is a 3 hour perk. Last year, I got in DAH at 7 pm as they said, but since party was at 11 pm, was a 4 hour perk. Now maybe this year it is different since parties are earlier but everyone needs to know that Disney is not guaranteeing you in before 7 pm.

I have APs so I couldn't tell you if I got in earlier was due to my AP or DAH. I get it's just me, but at this point I am not comfortable telling anyone it's a given. So if someone is asking if it's a value, my answer would be guaranteed park time from 7 pm until the end of your nights DAH is a good value.

Still not an advertised perk and no different than this event.
So you are thinking that even if they have the CM out front with the credentials at 4:00 you can't get in at that time with your event ticket? That your entrance is using different media?
