Canadian Buffoon's Disney With a Teen Vacation - 08/13 - The Wrap

It won't let me see it! Shoot! Ok, fine, now to learn how to load a video...

Ok, that's just weird!!! It will play in my post back to you, but not in yours!!

Let's try this:

Try again - I got a dud the first time and re-posted! Copy and paste the URL at the top of the You Tube page while the video is playing.

Now I've wanted to go to DL since I was a wee lass. Unfortunately no one would take me. Now that I'm paying for myself, it's so much more expensive than WDW!!!

Yes I have to agree we are more costly than wdw/ I feel you get a better value for your dollar out there. Don't get me wrong we still have our passes (I work extra duty over the summer break to cover those) and go quite often. sometimes just the two of us and sometimes we take lil missy. Looking forward to taking our youngest granddaughter (those people she lives with insist on being the first to take her there tho' jeesh lol) but carrie when you do make it out here we will have a great time and will show you all the tips

She looks pretty happy, guess she feels ok.

Not sure about our trip now for next year. Have to talk to our lawyer. We're so ready for that nonsense to be over! Sorry, don't want to go into detail on a public forum.

I do like that I kind of know Alison. That's why I'm seriously considering renting points in the first place. The sites are confusing and a little expensive and with a private renter you wouldn't know who you're getting.
hey we rented dvc points for our Jan trip coming up. worked out to cheaper than a mod (just a little) we are staying at Saratoga springs (we liked it when we stayed there b efore back in 09. we are getting a preferred studio.. pm me on fb for the link if you want.

I don't understand the "more expe8nsive" Passes are cheaper because you need less days, there are value Good Neighbor hotels across the street, and lots of restaurant choices all around the park, even Mc D's. You can drive straight down the street to the beach and be entertained just for parking. I think parking is free at Huntington. Oh, I guess you need a car for that. There are shuttles from the airport to DLR if you are skipping the beach. Anyway, we always spend less at DLR....

Yes if it's just park tickets, hotel and dining it would be cheaper. It's the air fare that kills us! Air fare from Cleveland, Ohio out to LA costs about double than to Orlando. I can do a week at WDW for the same price as four nights at DL. Of course if someone wants to pay my airfare I'd be out there in a second!

Where the heck is Ponzi? He's really letting us rum amock and he isn't even gone yet!

While he's gone, you can pop over to my thread- I would love your ideas/suggestions for your favorite places to buy lotion, soap, and stuff.

That makes sense! We used to drive from Oregon on most trips. Funny though, we can fly from Texas now cheaper than from our small Oregon town. :rotfl2:

When we went to Cleveland for the GGVI we had to fly to Columbus and drive otherwise we had crazy transfers which we didn't want to do.

La de dum de dum de dum......

Hmmm?

What's this?
There appear to be some posts here.
Perhaps I should stop relaxing
so much and reply to them.

Nah....

Oh, okay.

Nah. You're too pretty to be the worst.

Ok I will.

Now didn't that feel good?

Somebody's got to win right? ;)

But did it have to be me??

Imposing doesn't mean fat Ponzi - it just means everyone can't help but notice you - like this guy

So you're saying Ricky Gervais is fat?

Some of the most epic things ever have occurred over relatively short time frames - like the Anglo-Zanzibar war for starters....

You want me to go to war with Disney?
That should last even less than 45 minutes.

I've got a law degree so I'm happy to do it for you if needs be.

Gee... thanks.

After seeing all of these great nominations, I'm feeling woefully inadequate.

Carry on.

So now you feel like I do on a regular basis!

Canadian Buffoon disappoints the English ladies

:lmao: :rotfl:

Now that's funny!
(And probably prophetic!)

I think I'm going to award points for
funniest title... and this one's the
clear front runner!

Lol lol lol lol!!!

giphy.gif

You agree!
My reputation (unfortunately)
precedes me.

Or maybe
Canadian Buffoon would have had more fun if he had taken orangecats2

:sad2: Remember, you're the one
who said you couldn't go!

I had a dream that we were at Disney but I had to stay at the resort.

Well, of course.
What with you prancing around
in your birthday suit all the time.

orrrr Canadian buffoon comes out to the original house of mouse sounds good too. I think franandaj would agree

One trip at a time!

Well that would be nice, but he doesn't seem to have any desire to see the original.

Wellll.....
Let's put it this way.
If I go to Paris (which I did)
I want to see the Eiffel Tower,
Notre Dame, L'Arc de Triomphe...

If I go somewhere, I want to see
the history, the inspiring, the astounding.

And while I love Disney...
If I'm going to Cali... it's not at the top
of the list.

It's on the list... just not at the top.

Although he doesn't know that I could help him out with the VIP package.

Perhaps I could be persuaded...

I know I am not THE pkondz,

So you're saying you're A pkondz?

but I will be down there, hopefully, within the next year or so. Gotta get Bowling Green and my son's wedding done first. I am a distant 2nd, but would love to visit you, have dim sum, try an oyster for the first time, ride some old classics, have you show me Carsland, etc....

I wouldn't mind being there
to see you try that first oyster!

I would be very encouraging, too!
"It's super slippery and slimey...
possibly alive still... Down the hatch!"

You will also be shown the VIP treatment to the best of my ability. Details coming on my TR and meets last month.

This will possibly change my mind.
Interesting.

So, I stay away for a while and come back to find a rather shocking amount of amok has been running about in here and making quite a spectacle of the place!

I know. Great, isn't it?

But then there was talk of cake and icing. That's makes everything better.

Cake always makes things better.
So does pie.
And chocolate.
And pudding.
Candy.
Ice cream.
Fudge....

I came to remind myself what the date of your upcoming departure was, but I see there's still a few days yet. Then I noticed mention of a contest, so how could I resist? So, for your consideration:

Canadian Buffoon's Whiny Food Vacation (a play on Food & Wine and suggested in case some of your samplings don't quite meet your expectations)

Canadian Buffoon Gets His Groove Back (besides being a delightful play on the film "How Stella Got Her Groove Back", we all know how much you are in need of a re-charge from work. So this one's the winner, right? Aww, come on, you know you like it...:D)

Noted and interesting, but...
Sorry dude.
Definitely not a winner with "Groove"

I'm getting as far from work as I can.
While I'm there (which is.. always)
I frequently find myself having to eat
at the cafeteria.

Which is called...

Stella's.

There are some great entries here - it will be hard to resist. I see Mark and I are the great minds that think alike - as in we think you need a nap. :rotfl2:

And I'm actually starting to feel more human!

Sleep. It's a good thing.

I think we should party and really run amok while you are gone - we don't want your thread to get lonely.

::yes::

And as Fran and Leisa have brought up, What is wrong with DL, anyway?:confused3

Nothing!
It's just... I've never been to Cali.
There are so many
other things
I'd like to see and do.

DL just happens to be lower on the list.

Let's just all go to DLR and run amok there. Last one on Alice in Wonderland loses.

Have a good trip!

Now I've wanted to go to DL since I was a wee lass. Unfortunately no one would take me. Now that I'm paying for myself, it's so much more expensive than WDW!!!

They're both expensive for me.
So if I have to pick one...
I'll pick the bigger one
and the better known one (to me.)

I know, right??

I just skip fondant all together. Why bother when buttercream is delicious?

Agreed!
But it wasn't my cake.

....oh. Still, I decorate the whole cake then! Which generally just involves me dumping everything I made and then slightly smoothing it down so everything is covered.

Sounds good to me!

Well then. See above post. I think maybe twice I've gotten ambitious and tried to pipe things....but most of the time I know it's not going to last more than a day or two so why bother? My future father-in-law LOVES my cakes. Even the ones I mess up on.

You know why?

BECAUSE IT'S CAKE!!!

CAAAAAAAAKE!!!!!!

Ew. On so many levels. I hated having to work a Saturday at my old job because it required six days straight. And they were at least normal hours.

You may want to not work my job then.

Just sayin'.

Canadian Buffoon's This Almost Didn't Happen Vacation

or Canadian Buffoon's Finally Once Again Solo Vacation

Got 'em. Like 'em.

or Canadian Buffoon's I Was Going to Disney But Instead I Visited My Good Friend In NC Vacation (no? wishful thinking?)

 You know, you're really making me happy.
I'd like this to happen some day.

I hate you.
Not really.
Well....maybe a little.
I have 267 days.

But now it's less than 267 days!
And I'm less than 7 days!
Practically the same thing!
(On a geological scale.)
