Jubilant July Mousekercise Challenge

I love all the Classic Six character photos you've been sharing! Feel free to share more if you'd like.

Now for some color changes:

Congrats to Kathleen27 and The Team for reaching Daisy Duck Purple!

In addition to being a fashionista, Daisy also has a fiery personality, for both good and bad. But she is in much more control of her temper than Donald and many times has tried to reform him. Take a look at the following clip that showcases that combination:

"Cured Duck", 1945

I also really like the following clip in which we see Mickey and Minnie being all cute and adorable, Donald and Daisy on the other hand are bickering and miserable. M&M try to cheer them up but things don't go exactly as planned....

45 minutes walking with my dog pal house guest Luna last night! This calls for a Pluto photo. Totally giving the pooch a smooch.
525/700 = 75% :dogdance:

I love everyone's photos too! Post 'em if you got 'em this final week of July.

We all know Minnie as Mickey’s gal but this was not always so as seen from the first in a series of 12 Mickey Mouse cartoons released in 1929, “The Barn Dance” in which Mickey and Pete rival for her attention on the dance floor:

It wasn’t until “Mickey’s Follies” released later that year when Mickey sings a tune about Minnie that establishes them as a couple: (skip to 3:37 to hear only Mickey’s song, although the rest is cute too)

Congrats to Courtneybeth for being the first team member to reach 90% of goal and Mickey Mouse Red!

““I only hope that we never lose sight of one thing—that it was all started by a mouse.” (Walt Disney)

We can thank Lillian Disney for dissuading Walt from naming our favorite Mouse Mortimer. Smart woman for suggesting Mickey instead. Can you imagine how the following classic song would sound like otherwise????

And finally congrats to the first team member to reach 100% of goal and Goofy Green: GalaxyGirl76!

Did you know that Goofy character originally appeared with the name Dippy Dawg and that his first appearance featured him as an old man in 1932’s “Mickey’s Revue” (as an audience member)?

This was also where Goofy’s trademark laugh was introduced. I just LOVE Goofy’s laugh (although I would find it incredibly annoying otherwise).

Dippy Dawg became younger in his next appearance. It wasn’t until the 7th appearance in 1934’s “Orphan’s Benefit” that he would be given the permanent name of Goofy.
