Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Thanks for the pics of the sand with the ropes up. Prepares us for our trip in August. I guess they took away the swings? We have a pic of the kids and I on one of those swings in November 2015.

So who wants to report back on how getting to frozen ever after works out from entering from the back? I am desperate to know if we'll have an advantage or disadvantage.

I'm interested too! I was wondering what would be better from the IG, rope drop frozen ride or soarin first?

It will be interesting for sure, today's opening to the bloggers caused 6 hour waits for FP+ times and they had a breakdown on this ride to complicate things further though to Disney's credit they did give out some items to stop folks dehydrating while they waited. No doubt they will iron out all the bugs before we all get there. They are usually fairly good about that kind of thing.

Please could you add me to the list?
We're at Yacht Club concierge 23rd-30th August. I know I said it's few weeks away, but that's when we arrive. We're over for 5 weeks, starting at the end of July, the Yacht Club is our final resort stay :-)

You are going to love it there, they take such great care of their guests and really make you feel special too. Enjoy your stay.

We loved our CL stay three years ago and any questions were immediately addressed and answered. They even helped us plan and book some special events so feel free to ask away before you get there. The lounge staff were wonderful always keeping the chillers restocked with beers or sodas and cold items. They had some amazing desserts to take with a great range of snack items both hot and cold. We never saw a mess once during our two week stay and the turn down service was wonderful. All the maids were friendly yet very respectful and kept the rooms to the standard we expected.. They soon learned our names and it was fab being wished a good day or good evening every time we went to or from the lift to the room...we kept our gold cards for the scrap book to remember to holiday with.

Thanks for those helpful photos.

May I post your first picture on Page 1. I am going to try to keep up with the rapidly changing beach/water news and post the info in the first post.

My comments on the second picture with the security team with the dog. This makes me both relieved and sad at the same time.

Sure but happy to take a better picture. Is it the rope fences you are interested in? I could take a better one. This was just with my phone from my far away room balcony.

Thanks for posting the picture of the new fence at the beach. I was very curious to see what they were going to do there. I don't think that the fence looks bad at all. The water never looked too appealing anyway.

It looks like they left the bench swing on the beach. Did they remove the lounge chairs?

I've never seen them use dogs to search the bushes before. Maybe they are looking for alligator nests.

Thanks for the great job of reporting. There are a lot of new things happening right now, so of course we all want to know what they are. ;)

There are lounge chairs stacked up (clearly not to be used) behind the campfire pit area, on sand but mostly hidden from the sidewalk.
I was thinking how lonely the swing looked, as its there but inaccessible. I'd think they could just move it to the grass near the volleyball sand or frankly the volleyball sand (haven't seen one person there - my room overlooks it, been here since Thursday).

I'm going to edit the dog post to say posters believe it's for duck eggs. I don't want to worry people. They made me feel safe but maybe not everyone thinks that way.
Maybe that is in direct response to the ducks that were always present at SAB this trip...many more than I have seen before.
there are ducks everywhere at sab! And bold. They stand about 2 feet from you and stare. It's just like having my dog here! We were eating a meal from HHanna at the tables near it and sab and one "went" right there, where so many kids have bare feat. Yuck. I mentioned it to a janitor type cm and while she did clean it up she seemed surprised to be asked (I just couldn't clean it myself - it was, uh, a lot (sorry) and she had gloves on anyway).
And saw many kids feed the ducks while their parents watch...

I liked your picture because it showed both fences, the one at the water line and the one between the sidewalk and the beach. I do have individual pictures of the fences taken by a friend that is there now (I posted those after yours)

We're booked in a BC lagoon/pool view from November 29 through December 4. For the first time ever, I got a UOC via snail mail...so even though we decided not to Disney this year, we're going  . I stayed at BCV years ago and YC three trips ago. Looking forward to the new rooms at BC and (hopefully if weather cooperates) SAB!

Got most of my ADR hopes too, so we are stoked! pixiedust:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

59 more days and then I'll be checking into the YC for the 1st time! Very excited! I have always done the online checkin for my other trips and have always been happy with our rooms (well except last May at AKL where we were given a bunkbed room ... that wasn't going to work for mom whose 70+ and me 40+...but it would have been great if we had small kids with us). I have a standard room booked at YC. So I know I can't be too picky on my room options, but I'd love not to have a view of the roof...and am a bit nervous about ending up with one of the standard rooms that shares that balcony in the front of the building. I've looked at touring plans room map and it looks like most standard rooms are on the 4th floor. So wondering of the 4 selections they give me for online checkin.... ground floor, lower floor, higher floor, near elevator.....which would you guys pick? I'm Soloing it this time! Any advise as to what to select would be great.

Wonder why 2 fences? So no beach access at all? Pictures I've seen from GF and Poly only show a fence at the water line?

If the entire beach area is blocked/inaccessible, I wonder where they will relocate the corporate and group parties typically held on the beach. Many of those gatherings are very deluxe and include buffets with multiple food stations, bar, live entertainment, activities for kids, etc. During one party, I became a bystander (or freeloader, perhaps), to a private party's fireworks show; it was one of the most beautiful fireworks displays I had ever seen. It originated just offshore from the party. I found out the affair was thrown by an international shipping company and easily cost $250,000. I can't possibly imagine another area at the resort that could accommodate such a party, as well as the beach does. Part of the "magic" for such events is the beautiful waterfront setting on the beach.

@natebenma - please add me to the list! Just booked my first BC stay for 1/31-2/4/17! We've planned a split stay between the beach resorts, Caribbean Beach (1/27-1/31) and BC. I had never given much thought to BC before, but my TA had a pretty sweet deal on it when 2017 rates opened up today, so we went for it! This will be a first visit to WDW for my grandmother (age 70) and a first birthday celebration for my nephew. We can't wait!

I have read some where that when staying at the BC walk to the YC to catch the bus to avoid it being full. Does anyone still recommend this when going to MK? If so what time of day is it wise to walk to the YC for the bus?
