Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Can't really answer that- standard rooms are spread all throughout the resort (except on the first floor), so depending on where the standard room is, it could be close to the laundry room or it could be far away. Both BC laundry rooms are in the same general area. The rooms that are on the "Yacht Club" side of the lobby would be the ones furthest from the laundry room and rooms in the wing near to EPCOT would be the closest.

:)
Thank you. I guess I should of said I meant in the BC. I thought all the standard rooms at BC were near the lobby or close to it anyway?

It is tough to suggest what the best room recommendation is since it will be different for every family, depending on what is most important.

I would prefer the location "close to lobby" over "close to EPCOT" because that will put you nearest to the lobby/Marketplace/transportation and Stormalong Bay. Plus, the walk from the BC lobby to the International Gateway to EPCOT is just 5-7 minutes, so I find that it isn't important to be close to that exit.

Possible wording for your room request would be "Daybed, please. Close to BC lobby, if possible."

Thank you very much for the insight. Close to the lobby and pool sounds great. I'm glad I have a little time to read all about the ins and outs of the BC before our trip. It's been a while since we've been to WDW, and I have a lot of reading to do about FP+. Can't wait!!

No, the standard rooms are located all over the (BC) resort. The views either face the front parking lot or have a view of rooftops. I believe that the parking lot view rooms go all along the front side of the resort, so some could be fairly far from the lobby. The standard view rooms overlooking rooftops are in various locations.

So I am new to this board and let me say you guys are exactly what was missing from my life! I have been reading all these post for the past 3 days while the flood warnings are strong here in Texas thanks to Patricia!

My husband and I will be doing our first solo trip ever at BC from May 27-May 30 2016! This trip is very important to us for so many reason but I'll give you the cliff notes version:

*snip*

Fast forward again: we decided to take a trip back to Disney on our own! As I said we will be there in May. We have a 2 day park hopper and a platinum dining plan! Staying in a Standard view room. I am really wanting this trip to be as magical as I can make it. Any pointers, suggestions, recommendation, ANYTHING is so appreciated! Thanks for sharing all of your stories and experiences! It was fun getting to know all of you!

:welcome: to this thread!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

And thank you for sharing your story. This may be a bit of TMI, but I read your post this afternoon while giving blood in honor of a friend's husband and it put a much-needed smile on my face.

You have probably checked out Posts 13 and 14 for some resort info.

Have you started thinking about where you want to eat? What kind of food do you like? Being at the Beach Club, close to Boardwalk and near EPCOT give you some excellent dining choices! There are a bunch of regulars who post here who can give you a list of their favorites.

Just keep on following along!

So far we have Victoria and Alberts, Yachtsmen, the boat house and Fultons. We need 1 more dinner and about 3 more lunches. We like all kinds of food and will usually try anything once. I am looking for some good Epcot places to eat s we will spend about a day and a half there.

What are best Stand View club level rooms to book? Anything to request specifically?

:welcome: to the thread.

When is your trip? Beach Club or Yacht Club?

Are you looking for the best possible view or are there other things that you prefer for your stay. Possible requests are full balcony for the Beach Club, daybed or location (close to lounge or away from lounge).

Check out the following thread that shows some sample room views. The 5XXX rooms are club level. I had a BC CL SV room that had views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks. I think you can see Spaceship Earth from some of the BC CL SV rooms.

Oops, We are staying April 30th- May 8th, 2016. Yacht Club CL. What's the best view that we can expect to get? The standard view are the only rooms that accomodate 5 people, does that mean that all SV CL at Yacht Club have daybeds?

Hi All!
It's been mentioned before but what are the rooms to avoid if you want to avoid hearing the boat horns at the Yacht Club? Are they also heard from any of the Beach Club rooms?
Thanks!

Got it!

I believe the lobby received an update - new upholstery and maybe some furniture- before the BC renovations started in October. So I don't think there have been any lobby refurbishments since then and to the best of my knowledge, none are planned.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

Please let us know if you have any questions about the resort, but sounds like at least the Beach Club is just like home!

:cool1:

:welcome: back!

Will do!

:woohoo:

Thank you so much for the detailed review! I would love to add a link to your comments along with all of the reviews I have promised (to eventually) add to the Trip Report/Review post.

You can send pictures to beachclubdee at yahoo

Which reminds me... I haven't checked that account in a while, so I'll do that when I am done here!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for October.

When you arrive at the resort to check-in, ask at the front desk (even if you are given the direct to room option) whether the room assigned to you has a full balcony. If not, ask if there is a room available that has one. If there is not one available that day, there may be a room opening up the following day so if you are willing to switch rooms, let them know.

:thumbsup2

Thanks for the details about your trip. You may have heard, SOMEDAY I plan to add recent reviews to the Trip Report post. May I include yours?

::yes::

Sure.

Is there anything else you care about- full balcony, daybed, upper or lower floor?

Also, yes, there are stairs you can use to get to the rooms. I may be wrong but I seem to recall that some of the stairs only went to the 2nd floor and then I had to find another set to take me to the 3rd or 4th floor.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Are you staying onsite at the Dark Side? We have had one stay at the Portofino and 3 at the Hard Rock.

:welcome:

Did you get Magic Bands or are you from overseas and need to pick them up when you check in?

I hope someone gets back to you to let you know what is going on.

Let us know if you can!

::yes::
Sorry for the delay in my reply! If you think it could be helpful sure you can include it. Thanks!

I had to drag my just-turned-4-year-old on to 7DMT in May. He was hysterical, despite the fast that he had ridden it several times last October (and loved it!). I'm surprised the CM actually let us put him on with the way he was carrying on!! But sorry, buddy, it was fast pass time - we'll deal with the emotional scars later :)
Exactly! Fast pass doesn't allow time for being ready lol. I was worried the haunted mansion would be too creepy, but he loved it and picked that to go on again later in the week!

I am happy to say I booked Beaches & Cream for my upcoming trip in April! We've never been able to walk in, so I made an ADR

We also have booked an ADR at B&C for our upcoming trip, in January. Our first time at B&C we just walked up and got counter seats, and we've gotten sundaes from the take out counter on a couple of trips, but for this next trip it was on my son's list as a must do, so I thought we better get a reservation.

We love that place, likely because our first experience there was so good. We just went for lunch so we had burgers and drinks and were too full for ice cream. They asked us three times if we wanted dessert and we kept declining. Then, they gave us a complimentary No Way Jose because they were training someone on how to make them. Although we were full, that sundae was so good!

My Epcot dinner suggest for you would be Italy. Never had a bad dinner there. France is nice but can be crowded and noisy at times. Mexico and Coral Reef in the Land for lunch. As far as something to do, maybe a round of putt-putt? Nothing brings you together more than trying to beat your better-half in a lazy round of golf.

Hi Everyone! :wave2: I am so excited we just booked our Honeymoon  and will be staying at the Beach Club July 26-Aug 4! I have been to WDW 3 times but have never stayed deluxe. This will be my fiancé's first time to WDW. We are so excited and have learned so much from this thread already. I guess my one concern with Beach Club is the lack of counter service choice. I have read multiple places that the marketplace is very small and not equipped well to serve 2 resorts. Can anyone calm my fears with what you do for a quick breakfast or lunch if you are around the resort? Thanks so much!!!
