Bibbidi-Bobbidi-DEUX our own kind of marathon ~ A Nov '14 TR ~ Updated 11/2 ~ THE END

Glad you had an amazing getaway and the race was so fun! Hope you share that trip with us :)

The kids look SO cute with their pirate makeovers!

Your room at BLT looks awesome.

The pirates and pals outfits are adorable. And such great pics with Hook & Smee! Those snacks, omg you certainly get some fun goodies!

What a fantasic view of the fireworks, great pics. And meeting Peter Pan at the end is icing on the cake! That looks like such a fun experience :)

To The Pirates League.

Funnily enough, I imagine most people probably thought you just came from there.

WOW, everyone looks fantastic!! Curious Rachel. How long roughly does it take beginning to end?

WOW!!!! I love the look of the pool all lit up, especially the Mickey head.

It's so surprising to see a room like that in Disney. Given the generally puny sizes of most of the guest rooms in Disney hotels. Very very cool.

YAY, I did the Pirate's Cruise back in February and loved it!!! But you certainly got an extra special treat with Merry ChristWishes and all the perimeter fireworks. That must have been incredible.

Your kids are way too cute!!! I love all of those different coordinating outfits...where did you get all of the cute outfits..
Also where did you get those autograph books done? My son is going to Disney in October with my parents i'd LOVE to get him one for his trip!!

I just sat here completely & totally engrossed in your pictures! Your children are absolutely adorable & those CLOTHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I LOVE LOVE LOVE their outfit changes!

What a busy but AWESOME day!!! Holiday Wishes from the lagoon !

Your pictures are adorable. I need to do the Pirate's Cruise one day!

We had such an amazing trip that I'd love to share it with all of you. I've been tossing around the idea of starting a second TR but the idea of having two going at once is a bit overwhelming .....but at the same time, if I wait until I'm finished with this one before I start that one, I feel like it may be too far out from the trip. Ahhh! So not sure yet what I'm going to do, haha. o_O

The Pirates League makeovers were quite quick. I want to say that we were in and out of there in about 30 minutes.

I was definitely impressed (and thankful!) by the sizes of both of the 1-bedroom villas that we stayed in during this trip.

I'd like to say that I planned it that way but it was pure luck that we got to see "Merry ChristWishes" on our Pirate's cruise, whoo hoo! .... and getting to see those perimeter fireworks from the lagoon was amazing! :sail:

That's a packed day for any adult...so amazed your kids held up so well.

I can honestly say that my kids really held up really, REALLY WELL that day and for the whole trip. It was pretty amazing actually! It must have been the Disney magic pixiedust:because they are definitely not that way at home... believe me, there's plenty of whining and fighting and pouting and tantrums.... and thankfully we had none of that on the trip.

Your kids are way too cute!!! I love all of those different coordinating outfits...where did you get all of the cute outfits..
Also where did you get those autograph books done? My son is going to Disney in October with my parents i'd LOVE to get him one for his trip!!

There's a whole Disney-"Customs" community that I found and have become a part of through Facebook. There are some amazingly talented designers (who are Disney addicts like us!) that make some incredible outfits. And I was lucky enough to be able to borrow a couple outfits from some of my Disney-customs-loving friends too. :goodvibes

I made our autograph book with some help from DISboards. There's a whole autograph book thread under the Creative DISigns section that has a ton of great info. I used some of the 8x8 images and printed the book through Shutterfly. So easy and it turned out really cute.

I just sat here completely & totally engrossed in your pictures! Your children are absolutely adorable & those CLOTHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I LOVE LOVE LOVE their outfit changes!

Aww, that is so sweet. Thank you, thank you for such kind words!

Love the pictures with Peter pan in their outfits. So darn cute.

Our meet with Peter was a ton of fun! It was fun to see his reaction to the Captain Hook & Tick Toc Croc on Donovan's shirt and Jorie's dress. :tinker:

What a busy but AWESOME day!!! Holiday Wishes from the lagoon !

Your pictures are adorable. I need to do the Pirate's Cruise one day!

Yes! You should definitely try the Pirate's Fireworks cruise. I'm pretty sure that the adults had just as much (if not more!) fun than the kids on the boat. Our captain, Patch was a riot! pirate:

I forgot to mention at the end of my last post that after our Pirate Voyage and before heading back up to our room, we had stopped at the BLT desk to ask about a package that was sent to me. I was told that it would be at the Contemporary's business center, and of course at that late hour of the night it was closed. I was crossing my fingers that it would be open early enough for me to pick it up before heading out for our breakfast ADR (which was for 8am) since I had planned on using what was in it that day! Eeeek!

Day 6
Tuesday, November 11th

So we were up, ready, and out the door bright & early (surprise, surprise!)

Good Morning Cinderella Castle!

On the way to the Contemporary a nice CM struck up a conversation with us after noticing the outfits that the kids were wearing. He asked us where we were from and all about our plans for the day… and well it took us a minute before we realized that we were talking with a DVC rep. When he started on his DVC spiel, I almost felt like walking away….but when he assured us that they’d make it worth our while (with a gift card and extra fastpasses) if we attended an information session, I stayed and listened and actually considered it. We (well probably just me) had the thought of DVC in the back of my mind, especially since we were renting DVC points on this trip and had a little taste of the amazingness of the 1-bedroom villas. We agreed to take the tour early the next morning before we would head out to the park.

Our first stop was to see if I could pick up my package…. and luckily it was open so I was able to pick it up. Yay! (Don’t worry, I’ll reveal later what was in this mystery package)

Our legs were feeling nice and fresh, so we then took the walking path and made our way to the Magic Kingdom. It’s such a nice feeling being able to walk right over to the park and to not have to rely on Disney transportation to get us there.

And it’s an even nicer feeling to go into the park pre-rope-drop!

Good Morning MK!

I guess I was so excited that I couldn't hold the camera straight.

Ever since one of the Hollywood Studios PP photographers had told us all to put our arms out…. Bronwyn wanted to do this in EVERY pic! Lol

After our PP pics, we headed to Crystal Palace to check in for our breakfast reservation. It was our first time eating here and we were really looking forward to it.

We were seated quickly and had some time to fill up our plates at the buffet before the characters would be around.

Our first visitor!
pooh:

Bronwyn was stuck in her booster seat and she wanted out! Haha, what a face!

It was our first time meeting all of these characters and they were so darn cute!

The food was really good too. I made sure to go back up for seconds of my two favorites.

The Pooh’s Puffed French Toast and the Breakfast Lasagna! Oh my goodness, SOOOOO YUMMMY!!!!!

Crystal Palace breakfast gets two thumbs up from me. The character interaction was absolutely fabulous and the food tasted great which definitely made up for the fact that I usually hate getting up and down from my seat to go get food from buffet. We’ll definitely be back. I’m already adding it to our list for our next trip… and crossing my fingers that we’ll get another pre-park-opening ADR because entering an empty park was so awesome!

And what better place to head after Crystal Palace, then.....?

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh…. another first for us.

And yes, we waited for at least the 35 minutes that was posted for the stand-by line. Thankfully the queue kept the kids entertained because the line seemed to move very slooooow. The ride was cute…but I’m not sure that I’d ever wait that long for it again.

Where to next? Well there was still a princess in MK, that we had yet to meet. So our third stop of the day was yet another new adventure. So exciting! Before this one though, we had to make a quick pit stop for an outfit change. We arrived to Fairytale Garden and found ourselves a very long line. Ugh! But we stuck with our plan and got in line. At least it was in the shade. While we waited, Joe made a run back to the locker to exchange the kids' Hundred Acre Woods outfits, for our next sets. It was at this point when Jorie started complaining of being itchy. When I looked, her arms were completely covered in a rash. I immediately thought of the bushes that she wouldn't keep her hands off of at the Peter Pan meet the night before... was it from that, who knows? But anyway, I texted Joe to see if he could find some Benadryl on his way back to us. He was able to stop and pick some up at at First Aid. When he got back to us, it was almost our turn for the kids to meet Merida!!

This may be one of my favorite meet & greet areas. Such great theming. It is a shame that the three brother bears are no longer a part of it though. They would have been fun to see.

After meeting Merida, the kids were able to show off their archery skills.

It was almost noon, so that meant that it was time to head right next door for our lunch FP at Be Our Guest Restaurant.

I had picked our time that we wanted to arrive, but had not preordered our food, so we were put into a rather long line on the bridge. (boy did that seem to be the theme of the day)

Gargoyle faces ….or maybe grumpy faces from standing in a line that did not seem to be moving

Finally we were inside and we were able to order our food using a touch-screen kiosk and find a table.

We chose to eat in the Rose Gallery because we sat in the main dining room for dinner on our last trip. I could not stop looking at the music box centerpiece of the room. It was so beautiful.

Jorie’s Benedryl had definitely kicked in. Poor girl fell asleep while we waited for our food to arrive.… at least it had worked to clear up her rash a bit.

This dining area was just beautiful and I walked around taking some photos of the artwork.

I ordered the French Onion Soup (to share)

and the Braised Pork (Coq Au Vin Style)

- Eight Hour Slow-cooked Pork with Mushrooms, Onions, Carrots and Bacon served with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans Jardiniere.
…which I really enjoyed.

Joe had ordered the Croque Monsieur
(- Grilled Sandwich of Carved Ham and Gruyere Cheese and Bechamel with Pommes Frites.) which he didn't think was anything spectacular. We had ordered kids meals too but I didn’t photograph them so I’m not sure what they were. But I do know what we had for dessert…. Cupcakes!

It must be so nice to be able to walk to MK!

Pre-park opening ADRs are the BEST! I'm glad you all enjoyed Crystal Palace.

Great pictures with Merida and Belle!

I LOVE your purse, glad you were able to get it in time for this day :)

Once again, the outfits. Amazing.
Looks like a really fun morning.
I LOVE Be Our Guest so much. And that is great you got your bag in time. I love it!

Being able to walk to MK is hands down the best perk of staying at BLT/Contemporary!

Oh my goodness, walking into an almost empty MK is just AMAZING! I'm totally going to try for another pre-park opening ADR when we go back to CP in February. :tigger:

Thanks! I was so happy with how the bag turned out. I've always really loved Mrs Potts & Chip, so I thought they would be the perfect theme for it.

Thank you!! We had such a wonderful morning and the rest of the day continues to be great with some more fun character meet & greets.

I love Be Our Guest too! I was a little worried there that I might not be able to get the bag in time.... thank goodness it all worked out! :flower1:

I have to applaud all those dress changes for the girls, and all before lunch! lol How in the world do you not have a million suitcases to fit all those adorable outfits?!

As you know, we are HUGE fans of the pre-park opening Crystal Palace breakfasts. I'm glad your first experience with it was just as great! That Pooh's puffed French toast is just heavenly. I think it's worth the price of the breakfast alone. So delicious!! I don't think I have ever tried the breakfast lasagna. I'll have to try it in October.

Cute meet with Merida!

I love that all the girls got parts in Enchanted Tales. Paxton wouldn't do it last time, and I'm thinking he might be like Donovan and not want to do it next time either. Hopefully I will be wrong. It's such a cute show with all the kids' participation!

Bronwyn's airplane pose is just the cutest! lol That will be a funny story to tell when she is looking back on the pictures later in life and wondering why she is doing that in every photo.

Oh, yeah, your purse is ADORABLE!! I really love the Mickey head on the coinpurse too with the teapot pattern.

I feel so behind!! I loved your first trip report, in fact it helped solidify the fact that I needed custom outfits for my daughter for sure! We returned from 'home' in early December and are planning on returning (not soon enough) with our dance group in June 2016. Super excited to get more inspiration from your report.
Also, trying to convince my DH to look into DVC point rentals so I am glad to hear that with research, you can find great deals.
