Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

We just booked at Pop again for November 2015! DH and I were very pleased with our stay this past Nov. and can't wait to get back!!

Joffrey's replaced Nescafe at all Disney food courts nearly 2 years ago.

Thank you, baby Jesus! The only thing the Nescafé coffee did was make me tinkle a lot! The last time we stayed at the Pop Century was for 10 nights in November of 2012. About 5 days into it, I gave up on the Nescafé stuff. Between that, and the double bed, I was one cranky chica!

Hopefully this time I will at least be a little better caffeinated! We check in to the Pop Century again for 7 nights on the 19th!

We bring our own mini one cup coffee pot with us and have never had trouble with it in the room. It has a built in filter so we just put a scoop of coffee and it is good to go. We also buy disposable coffee mugs so we can take a coffee to go with us each morning but then do not have worry about carrying our mug around in the park.

Does anyone know if they have the clothesline in the shower?

Yes there is a clothes line in the shower!

Hi! We want to switch from CSR to POP for our March trip (3/16-3/22) to save some $$. But I'm concerned that during this time, there will be a lot of school groups here. We've stayed at POP in the summer when school's out. Any info would be appreciated!!:)

I think you're going to find that nearly every Mod and every Val is pretty packed throughout the Spring Break weeks. CSR the most likely of the Mods since it's built for large groups/conferences/etc. If you've stayed at Pop during the summer, it really wont be much different.

Short answer: I say move down, save your money. I don't think you'll be noticing enough difference for the extra $ spent.

Thanks for the info! I feel better now!:)

I'm booked April 16th for 4 nights on the first part of a split stay (offsite the rest) and I need 2 connecting rooms since our reservation is for 8 children and 2 adults. I know it isn't guaranteed, but obviously I'll do whatever it takes to get it, even if that means paying more at check-in.

My other request is that we're close to a parking lot. We will be driving to the parks most/all of the time. When the discount came out, my TA moved us to a standard pool view room, which looking at the map looks to be farther from parking lots. I know these places are massive, but does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do before or at check-in to make sure that we are as close as possible to a parking lot? 8 kids and a double stroller, I don't want to have to hike just to get to the van, and I'm willing to pack them up and drive to the main parking lot if we want to go to the main building (if the walk is really far to get what we're asking for).

Thanks
Neil

Request bldg 1. It's close to parking, the food court and two pools.

All paid for a ten night stay in March, I kept going back and forth over which value vs Coronado springs (a $300 difference, and then it became $450 difference with a travelocity coupon!) so, Pop it is. I have CS booked later in the spring pirate:

Pop is always a fine choice, I've never been disappointed here. Last trip here was January 2014, 80's section (our favorite) but we're going to mix it up and request the 50's. I don't mind the sports resort either (the cheapest for this time period) but when I showed my daughter images of Sports vs Pop, she was instantly reminded of the great pop atmosphere, so it was pop all the way.

:crowded: <--- me at the laptop trying to show my kids pictures of the resort..

Can't wait!

I'm booked for part of 3rd and 4th week of April at Pop. This is our 1st time staying at Pop! We are celebrating our 20 yr wedding annv, travelling without our children, and requested a room with a king size bed (70's section) Can anyone tell me how good Pop is about granting requests and what's the likelihood of getting a room with the king size bed? TIA

Does POP still do nightly movies out by the pool in January? Any idea what's on the schedule for this month?

There are not many king bed rooms--we have never once had that request granted though we were once offered a king handicapped room but it had a roll in shower room which we weren't comfortable with. We always have gotten our request of floor level granted and usually the building area or at least close by.

Just watched a POP Century room video on youtube published last May, and I noticed that the bed spread look different. Did Disney get rid of the POP Century comforters? :scared1:

They now triple sheet the beds with white linens and there is now a piece of the old comforter fabric (don't know what they call it) across the bottom of the bed. It looks nice!

And it's a lot more comfortable to. At least I think so. :)

On our recent trip to POP, we got a room with king bed, but did not request it at all. We had preferred room and ended up in a room with pool-view, which was fine, no problem.

I think the only reason we got a king bed was because we arrived around 6:30 pm and all other rooms were already occupied.

Yes they did a couple of years ago. Luckily DH and I were able to buy a brand new one of the POP King size comforters when they started switching to the new look. :thumbsup2
