Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

The coffe in the resort food court was recently changed from Nescafé to Joffrey's. I'm hearing this is a pretty positive change from guests who've already tried it considering Nescafé was pretty awful. You can also do the Starbucks Via packets, but you have to get hot water from the food court. We plan to stash an emergency Starbucks budget just in case!
Joffrey's replaced Nescafe at all Disney food courts nearly 2 years ago.

Well since most people go 2 years or more between WDW trips, it's likely that many people had Nescafé the last time they were there. So it could be considered a "recent" change for some.

We are leaving in 10 days for a week at POP (our first time there) and I am really starting to get excited now that the holidays are over and done with. We have an early flight, gets in to MCO at around 9 am. I am fully expecting our room to not be ready, but I have two little girls who will be desperate to swim (especially coming from the deep winter here). Any chance we will be able to get our hands on some towels before our room is ready?

You can ask at the front desk and they should give you some.

Hello all :wave2:

We recently switched to Pop from AoA due to the spring deals, and will be staying May 19-27th. It will be me(29), DH (32) and DD(4) for our first time staying on property (DH and I came 5 years ago but stayed off property) and DD's first Disney World trip.

Looking forward to going back through and seeing all the great info.

I just got off of the phone with Disney finishing up TWO bookings at Pop Century this year!! We had booked a bounce back for July at CBR, but the dates conflicted with my husband's work commitments. I had already planned one stay in late March, and now we will be there right before Christmas, too!! I told the CM that it is too bad that they don't sell DVC for Pop, because we would buy it for sure!! It is our "home' resort. This will be our 10th & 11th stay at Pop:)

Wow! How exciting! So jealous haha!

23 more days until our first time at Pop! (DH & DS's first time at WDW!)

We booked a preferred room, what can we expect with that? DS is only 2.5 so the logic behind the preferred room was that it might be closer to transportation???

Also, I've heard I can call Mousekeeping and ask for bed rails, is that still something they do?

Just paid in full for our trip to Pop in 56 days! Can't wait to get out of the PA cold for a week!

Just booked our first Disney trip for October!! Staying at POP and celebrating our son's 8th birthday! Super excited!!

Woo hoo, Pop's the best!

There is a link in one of the first posts of this thread to a map that shows locations of all room types. Check it out, it's really helpful!

Housekeeping will bring bed rails. Definitely make sure to call housekeeping (with the button on the phone), not the front desk.

We too will be staying in Pop from March 17th.

Does anyone know if the "coffee pot swap" is still going?

Or does Pop now have a coffee pot in the rooms?

Rope drop is in jeopardy if I haven't had my early morning caffeine fix.

Wishing everyone a great stay.

Does any one know if I could get a few balloons blown up at POP? I would bring them from home. It's my DD's 16th birthday and I want to sneak something special into the room for her but I'm not going to spend $60+ to get something from Disney floral/Gift.

DD and I arrive tomorrow for our mother/daughter celebration of her 18th birthday and Christmas. It will be great to get out of frozen - and not the animation magic kind - upstate NY. :cold:
It's our first stay at Pop, first time to use Magic Express, first time with Magic Bands and FP+, first time to eat at Be Our Guest (lunch FP). Without dad and teen brother along I'm sure there will be lots more stopping to smell the roses, or whatever is in bloom in January, and definitely more stopping for coffee and a pastry.
It's gonna be great! :goodvibes

For those who have stayed at Pop recently, do they provide shampoo and conditioner, or is there an all-purpose shower-gel dispenser? Thanks. Apparently my DD now has long hair concerns. :hippie:

Pop has the small bottles of shampoo and conditioner combined. They are really cute bottles with Mickey ears on top.

I didn't see an all-purpose dispenser (unless I missed it).

They also provide bar soap.

I didn't use either though, as I take my own shampoo and shower gel.

You can ask for them at the front desk when you check in or you can call housekeeping directly from the phone in your room. The times I needed them I usually asked for them when we checked in. The CM would immediately notify housekeeping and the bed rails were usually in our room before we manage to get our luggage out of the car and get to the room. The one time I forgot to ask for them at check-in, I called housekeeping when I got to the room and they delivered the rails within 10 minutes.
