Pregnancy Board!!

The reason I ask that is I had posted on another forum and somebody replied: " don't get too excited things can happen between now and then" and that rubbed me the wrong way. We are very excited for our trip together, we have been planning a trip before we had kids but now we have one (or more) on the way and we are even more excited now to take this trip! We just want to see experiences and take advise for other who have been to WDW or any other Disney park while being pregnant. Sorry for the rant : ) I just don't see why someone has to immediately take something negative out of a situation that life brings right off the bat.

Totally understand! Congrats!!!

I'll be 11 weeks when we go in a few weeks and that concerns me more than if I was 24 weeks-mainly because of morning sickness and exhaustion. I think 24 weeks is a great time to go! Second trimester, usually, is the easiest. There will be some rides you won't hit, but gosh, last time we went my DD was only 9 months old and SHE went on tons! So there is def plenty to do. I'd ask your doc what they think, but aside from the big coasters, maybe the safari at AK (even that I'm considering going on and just sitting in the front row), mission space, and a handful of others, you guys will have a blast!

Congrats again!

Hi everyone! I am currently 22 weeks pregnant with #3! We just got our airfare to Orlando for October 15th yesterday, so it looks like this little guy will have his first Disney trip at a little over a month old. I hope we aren't absolutely crazy taking a one month old to Disney, we got an amazing price on airfare so we just couldn't pass it up. My DD will be 10 and DS will be almost 3 at the time of our trip. I am so excited, I know the older kids will have a blast!

You couldn't pay me enough to take an infant under 6 months old to Disney World. I think it's foolish to bring a baby under 12 weeks, IMO.

Just because you yourself would not do it,does not mean in anyway that it is foolish!!
I took my 3 month old son for his 1st trip, it was one of our most magical experiences, so much so we did it again when we had our twins! And that was doing a 10 hour flight from the Uk both times.
Many people take their babies and do extremely well.

Thank you!!! I know some people will think we are crazy but oh well it's our trip not theirs, and I'm still really looking forward to it! I know my older kids will love it and that's what really matters, because this trip is for them. Between myself, DH, MIL, & FIL we will have plenty of hands to help out. We are also lucky because our flight is pretty short, just about 2 hours. I can not wait to get adorable pics of all 3 of my kiddos at Disney!

We traveled with my son (though not to Disney) when he was 4 weeks old. It was so much easier then than when he was older! At that age they still sleep so much that I'd think a Disney trip would be no problem, especially if you are nursing and can do so in a carrier. We will be going when our #2 is 4 months old and I'm a lot more nervous about that than I would be if she were 4 weeks!

I do plan on nursing (as long as everything goes as planned), I will be bringing an ergo and a sling and will be wearing him as much as possible. I'm not really big on rides so I'm ok knowing that I won't be going on a lot of them. Luckily my 10 year old DD is awesome with her little brother so I know she will be willing to take him on rides and stuff. I understand it won't be a relaxing vacation for me and I'm totally ok with that, this vacation isn't for me it's for my other 2 kiddos and I can't wait to see them have fun and make memories, they deserve it :) I also plan on taking my time, pacing myself, taking breaks when needed, etc. I am in no rush and know we don't have to do everything. I am very laid back and plan on just going with the flow.

If this is your third, you're already a pro, so you'll be fine! We took ours at 5 mo, but some friends took theirs at 1 mo! I was mostly in awe about how she was able to get around WDW commando-style four weeks after birth, but hey, everyone is different. The baby care centers are all so great....I think babies at the parks are pretty easy, really.

I just found out I'm 7 weeks pregnant with my 4th, our 5th!! We leave for Disney world in two weeks. It's our first trip. I was really looking forward to the thrill rides with my older kids. But I'm very excited about our little surprise nonetheless. I guess this is just more of a reason to go back!

I think it's great. You will have two, that get in free so it's a good deal. At 1 month old they sleep most of the time anyway. Provided the new little one is a happy and healthy baby you should have no problem. Just make sure you (mom) don't overdo, being only 4 wks postpartum. You're still healing at that point. Also check your airline bc some don't allow travel before 6 wks. Just plan on taking things very slowly and just enjoy your time. You might also try to stay very near whatever park you will be at most to cut down on commute time and encourage more rest. Also remember that you'll have little ones out of their routine and it might add some extra stress. If you are the type that can handle that then you should do great. Have fun.

Thank you so much for mentioning about the age to fly on the plane, I didn't even consider that! I just checked and our airline says they have to be at least 7 days old so we will be good. We ended up renting an off site house with a swimming pool and my mother in law and father in law have decided to come with us so we will have extra hands which will be great! We have also decided we will only do 3 or 4 days at the park, the other days we will just take it easy and relax (well relax as much as we can with a new born lol). I plan to take it slow, rest and just enjoy our time as a new family of five :)

We are kind of in the same boat! I'm due with baby #3 in September. Our girls are 6 (twins) and this will be our first trip! We are going in December, so baby boy will be about 3m old. I fort of feel like we are crazy :scared: but some very good friends (that we happen to travel well with) are going at the same time and they are totally Disney experts - so, we decided just to go for it! I figure my husband or I can always stay in the parks with our friends and daughters if one of us needs to go back to the hotel with the baby for awhile. I'm sure it will all work out!

Happy and healthy pregnancy to everyone! :goodvibes

Yay, another September mom! :) Congrats! I hope you have a happy healthy rest of your pregnancy and a great trip to Disney.

I certainly don't think you're crazy - we have a trip booked and depending on when our little guy arrives he should be around 8 weeks old when we go. I posted a thread a while back asking for tips for taking an infant to Disney and got some great ideas and support, as well as a group of people posting who seem to think that anyone travelling with an infant is nuts or hasn't thought it through. I'm neither! I've discussed it with my Dr and she, my hubby, and I are both comfortable with it so why not??!?

The way I look at it, even if the baby is cranky and cries all the time, I'd much rather be on my patio at Bay Lake Towers then here at home!!

Good luck and have a fantastic time!!

I'm so glad I found this board! Currently 25wk pregnant with #2 and happy to see we aren't the only ones planning a disney vacation with a little one! We plan on going late Oct when ds will be just 2 mo. We weren't sure about travel with a newborn but decided no matter what we can take things slow and try to relax and enjoy the warmer weather. Our other ds will just turn 3 and it will be his 5th or 6th trip. My only worry is that we will be staying in a value this time so it could be kind of cramped but we will make the best of it!

New here! just found out we're expecting our second! We're planning on taking our next trip sometime around Dec. 2015, with a will-be 2.5 year old DD and a 10 month old in tow. I'm worried about how we're going to manage the 2 of them... I'm also super glad I finally am using the DIS and that I also found this board!

Hi all! New here as well, congrats to everyone! :yay:

I'll be 36 weeks tomorrow with our first, so we are in the home stretch! We are hoping to take our little guy in November 2015 when he is 16 months... just not sure if Mommy & Daddy can wait that long! We love that time of year though, with the Christmas decorations, manageable crowds (during the week that we will go!), and pleasant weather! We're also hoping my parents and DHs mom will be able to join us. DHs Dad passed away recently, so the magic of a trip to WDW will be good for all of us.

Hope everyone is having a healthy pregnancy!

Welcome welcome!! You are almost there!!!

We had our 10 week u/s last week and got to see our little babe. They were just wiggling around. I hope that doesn't mean we have a wild child on our hands:eek:
