SHHH the surprise worked!! Our 7 day trip report

We returned from our fun filled trip from September 17-24th. As the title indicated it was a surprise for the kids. I will post the video as soon as I figure out how to!!
If you did not follow our pre trip report (likely not since not many did!!) I will do a breif intro.
We decided to do a surprise trip for our two boys age 10 and 4.
The plot:
Mommy is to fly to Las Vegas to visit a close friend (who happened to be pregnant and due around the trip time, good timing there! Boys will go to the airport to say goodbye.

How:
Our flight leaves at 2:50 pm, direct flight. Older son is in school and younger one gets out of preschool at 11:30 am. The boys think my husband has to work and will see them afterschool to pick them up at grandma's house.
Grandma and Grandpa pick me and the youngest up, we then pick up the older boy from school. In the meantime my husband gets out of work and catches a ride to the airport (we live close by).
I get dropped at the door with plans for them to meet me inside after I check my bags. (We did a walk through ahead of time so we all know where to meet)

So it went perfectly! My husband and I wait at the top of the escalator and when the boys come up he is holding a "Surprise we are going to Disney" sign.
The older one reads is and is in shock, little guy gets told from Grandma. My older son is a chatty guy, he was speachless!! It was priceless and earned us the title of the "Best Mom and Dad" in the whole world!

So after the reveal we headed through security and went to have lunch. My 10 year old was still so stunned that he could not even order his lunch a subway!
Flight was flawless and off we went.
We touched down in Flordia by 5:30 PM and to the buses and on to the resort by 6:00. We arrived at CBR by 6:30.
This were the little stress of our trip comes in. I did online check in, and we had dinner ADR for Hoop De Doo for 8:30. We have 2 hours to get there, which can be tricky if transportation gods are not in your favor.
To speed the process I send my husband to pick up the Hoop De Doo tickets while I complete the check in. He heads back and says "they said I need a confirmation number", so I hand him my phone with the Disney app with all my numbers on it.
He comes back again and says "She said she needs a print out of it" The lady who was checking me in says across the lobby "They should be all set, she already did online check in"
So now I head over to get the tickets. Now there is two windows open and someone at each window needing assistance. The one party close to me had 8 adults and their credit cards for their ADR's were all messed up. Someone from each adult pair had to go up and take time clearing up the matter.
The second window had a young couple and a CM that seems to enjoy chatting away with them I waited 20 minutes in line.
So when the chatting family was done the CM nearest me with the credit card family, tells me to go to the next window. I walk down and the guy says, "I am closed" and walks away. At this time the manager finally sees that I am still standing there and finds someone else to take care of me. She was able to pull my tickets, did not ask for my room key, just the confirmation number.

So we find our room in Barbados which is a short walk away and immediatly head to the bus stop to go to dinner. We ended up running to our ADR before they shut the doors, we were the LAST people in!! Just made it.

So great dinner and great show, we always enjoy it.
When we return to the hotel I head down to pick up my son's stroller I rented. As I am down there my DH calls me and says no luggage is in the room. It is now 11:30 at night and we landed at 5:30. I ask the bell hop, he summons the manager. She recognizes me from earlier, and promised to have it taken care of immediately.
The time it took me to walk back they were pulling up with the luggage.
I asked the man what happened and he said it was delievered to the wrong room, but no one was in the room.

All done with the day and now having our luggage we got ready for bed and all passed out!!
Next day we have ADR for Crystal Palace and day of fun in Magic Kingdom!
Will the transportation gods have forgiven us and be merciful??

Glad the surprise worked out! My son absolutely had NO reaction when we told him we were leaving for WDW. He was over tired from
Camping that weekend. He got more excited the closer we got to WDW. He kept saying "it's so nice to be back Mommy!"

So first full day at Disney! We all woke and got ready in a timely fashion and out the door for our ADR at Crystal Palace at 8:45. We got to the bus stop by 7:50 and waited a short time for a Magic Kingdom bus.
Quick bus ride and we arrived at Magic Kingdom by 8:15. We were able to wonder down Main Street for photopass pictures and to our ADR with no problems.
My little one who was timid of charcters prior to our trip had NO problem with the Pooh and friends!



My youngest ran to particpate in the parade with Piglet! So cute!
After breakfast we started our day in Adventure land! So what was the first thing we hit?? Anyone?

So we started the first stop in Adventure land with the Swiss Family tree house. Then on to Aladdin and my fav the Tiki room. This seems to have changed again as they are no longer under "new management".
Kids were bummed that jungle cruise was closed for refurb.
While I went on the flying carpets my DH ran for fast passes for splash.
We all went for Pirates. And we all got stuck for 20 mins on it! No they do not turn off the music when you sit that long!!
We heard announcements like "restarting pumps" momentarily. That did not sound promising!
So after that we all ha the POTC stuck in our heads all day!
We headed over to thunder and splash. My youngest was nervous about splash but handled it great! He didn't like the drop but loved the rest of the ride. Thunder was his favorite ride of the morning!
About this time we waited to see Woody and Jessie, it was the longest line yet!

***side rant, it seems that everywhere we went people refused to listen to CM about moving forward and filling in all space.

After this my youngest declared it was time to see Mickey. So off we went to the front to find the Mouse of the house

We waited a short time and all ushered into a room with Mickey. While in there a couple in front of us went up to have their picture taken and he drops to his knee and purposes!! It was pretty cool to see

Ok next post I have a picture if the hat my kids picked out, cutest pic of the trip!!

We told the boys that we would buy them each a hat, autograph book and a pin on the trip.
Every baseball hat we saw my DS 4 said no to. After seeing Mickey we walk through a gift shop and he falls in love with this:


This kid never asks for much (my older son asks for everything!)

Does not shade the face but had to buy it for him!

Now we went for some Sourcer Cards and then hit Bear Jamboree, Tom Saywers, and Haunted Mansion.

As a adult I laugh at how inapproprite Bear jamboree can be for little ones, still love it but it cracks me up
Momma don't beat little Beauford, Everyone that turns me on turns me down, and Blood on the saddle!! Oh too much!!

We are all hot and tired so we went down to secure a parade spot and relax with a cold drink.
While sitting there this is what we got entertained with:

My little guy fell asleep quickly waiting for the parade, he slept throught the whole thing!!

Next we hit Casey's and part of tomorrow land. Buzz light year, tomorrow land speedway, Carousel of Progress, People mover. We were spent and decided to head back to the hotel. We would catch fireworks later this week!

And, so neat to get to witness a proposal!! What a day you've had! (Love his choice of hat, too!)
