That's cool if you got an upgrade, hope I get one!
Can I ask about the cribs? Are they the wooden ones? And how old are your twins? Do they seem comfortable in them? Would I need to bring bedding?
My DD will have just turned 2 and i was not wanting a pack and play so was going to request a daybed but think she's still too young as she is still in her cot at home.
Thanks, have a great time and sorry for all the ?'s.
Nic

The cribs are not wooden but similar. The sides are tall. Long way to the 3 in or so pad. We got two sets of sheets with Mickey on them. Not sure our pack and play sheets will fit

The twins are 15 months adjusted to 11 months (preemies). They slept fine night one and doing fine so far night too although they just got put down. They have been sleeping in the stroller for the last 2 hours. Slept thru illuminations.

Been using MB everywhere without a problem. I like it

For California Grill? We got them for our November trip too! :yay:

When are you going?? I'm set for 11/2! I'm going 9/20 with DH... He is a picky eater, so I had him look at the menu and he seems ok with it... hope he likes it! If not oh well... :)

So are there both cribs and pack and plays at the resorts? We are staying at the YC.

Ok and if you live in Western PA buy Disney giftcards during giant eagle double fuel perks using your chase rewards card during 5% bonus at Getgo and earn 17% off your gift cards. YEP. I buy 4k over the year and feel like I get a 17% pin on food, rooms, tickets, tours etc. Makes me feel better!
Ok it's official-I'm green with envy of all the discounts you guys can get with Disney visa/gift cards! I should have been born an American :confused3
Thanks for letting us know and promising to report back. Good point about mixing drinks! Could also be an issue for someone who wants to combine regular and decaf coffee in one mug don't get the wrong idea- NOT ME!)(
As if THAT would ever happen!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:
Been to animal kingdom today the wait times were minimal, Kali river rapids was 5 minutes if that and we went on EE twice in a row and walks straight on, it's the first time I've been on it so got a shock when we started going backwards! Had dinner at Yak and Yeti which was nice. Just sat on the balcony before we go for a swim in SAB then hoping to go to MK for EMH if we can stay awake!
I've accessorised our elephant towel animal, today we got the animal on the left, I think its a sausage dog?

:rotfl:Love that you accessorised your towel animals :thumbsup2
The reserved section for the parade is right in front of the castle across the walkway/street.

The Rose Garden is just to the right from there. Both very easy to find even for me (directionally challenged). My DD was complaining that the grass was very "pointy" to sit on for that part. First world problems much? The grass in our preferred sitting area for Magic Kingdom fireworks is pointy. :rotfl:

Feckless I just wanted to say I've loved reading all your mini reports and I will definitely sign up to your full TR :) Your poor wee daughter -the pain of pointy grass can really be too much :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Thanks for the info. Sounds like we should be ok with the crib. My 2yo is tall so if she's not comfortable I can always switch to a rollaway.
It's amazing what babies can sleep through! My oldest DD screamed through illuminations when she was 2, then we got her to sleep when it was on, much easier.
Enjoy

This is the only picture I have of a crib at the resort. jbharr1- is this what yours looks like?

cribinroom-1.jpg

If you could take a picture of the crib and provide it to me when you return from your trip, I would appreciate it!

Here's a picture of a daybed set up with bed rails. I'm not sure if the resort provides these or if you need to bring your own. Anyone know?

What about the pack and plays? Anyone have a picture or info?

Heading back to BC in less than 3 weeks! :dance3: (Sept 13-21)
2 questions that we have never dealt with before though..

1) Does BC do drop off character signing? I am hoping to get some characters to sign a birthday card for my nephew, but I really dont want to have to carry it in the parks and potentially have it get damaged. Back in the day you could leave something at the front desk and pick it up a few days later full of signatures. Do they still do that? Or is that one of the perks lost to history?

2) We booked through a TA. Can we upgrade our room once we get there? Our TA has a special deal for villains weekend for regular rooms. But we have always had a garden view room, well specifically a certain garden view room. It was not our intention to stay in the exact same room, but we always get assigned to it. It will be sad to not be in it! So if it is empty, we want it! But if it is occupied, we are fine to stay in our regular room. (Yes we are weird!)

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

Unfortunately, I don't have the answers to your questions.

1) Never heard of that- sounds neat though! Anyone know?

We once received a birthday card signed "Happy Birthday, Mike" signed by Mickey, along with balloons and candy. But, there is nobody in my family named Mike! I alerted the desk (because I didn't want Mike miss his loot). We got to keep the candy.

2) Don't know, but it certainly doesn't hurt to ask.

:goodvibes

Thanks for the answer and thanks natebenma for reposting my question here. This board is great! :thumbsup2

GRRRR!!!! Just lost the post I have been working on for the last hour!

Ok finally my first time to post since we got in yesterday.

*snip*

I have to say I love it here. Love the area. Our rooms are clean, house keeping has been fine. We had turn down last night but not tonight most likely because we were in and out of our room tonight. Tomorrow off to AK

Thanks for the detailed post about your stay. Hope you continue to have a fantastic time!

:goodvibes

What a great day yesterday. *snip*

Sounds like an incredible day!!! Thanks for checking in with us. Hope the rest of your trip is magical.

:)

We are back from our first stay at the BC...this vacation went too fast for me. So sad that it is over, Disney depression has pretty much set in.

We had a nice time and I thought I would report back some of the pros and cons from our first stay at this resort.

*snip*

They discountinued the BC mugs with mickey on the beach!! Were there when I checked in and a few days later GONE!! I asked CM and she said they were discountinued.

All in all, a good stay, I am sure I will do it again, the convenience to Epcot (the park we usually end up at the most) was just perfect for us.

Were there when rapid refill mugs rolled out, but we didn't get one bc we checked in 2 days prior, BC had various colors of the RR mugs (orange, purple, blue, etc etc.)

Thanks for sharing your positive and negative comments about your trip. May I link your post to the trip report and review section on Page 2 of this thread?

Quick ?- the design on the rapid refill mugs is the same as before, just different colors, right? And with an electronic chip, of course.

:thumbsup2

I found a first hand report of the rapid refill mugs. It looks like it's smart enough to know how much is in the cup, so you can mix different drinks until you reach the cup's capacity. That's pretty cool!

http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2013/...ugs-for-walt-disney-world-resorts-now-in-use/

Thanks for posting this! I'll check it out and add the link to the Breaking News section on Page 1 about refillable mugs.

:thumbsup2

Just to let people now, SAB hours are back to 10am to 10pm (Not 11pm).

Thanks for the info!

FWIW, I truly love the Poly and love BC/YC almost as much.

So much depends on the individual.

The pool at the Poly is quite often crazy (and in my experience just as or more crazy than SAB at BC/YC). I found the walk to Epcot and boat to the studios just as (and even moreso) convenient than the monorail at the Poly (given the monorail repair issues). I love the Poly long houses but dislike walking in the rain to get food/coffee and appreciate that the BC/YC resorts have everything under one roof (even if its a hike depending on room location).

Different strokes for different folks. I suppose I want to say that not everyone who loves the Poly loves it for the same reasons...my advice to the OP is to look at what you like about the Poly, think about what you *don't like* about it...and look really closely at the YC with those things in mind.

Thanks for your input! Can't remember if I have seen you posting before, but just in case...

:welcome:

Ours is in 94 days and they just changed so we leave early and arrive late with a 7 hour layover in Houston. I was able to switch to a direct out of SFO for no charge. Hopefully you have other options. Flying home out of Boston today.

Hope you enjoyed your stay. Please don't take this gorgeous weather away with you!

Folks - Those of you with Magic Bands and FP+ locked in, I was wondering if you would share your strategy for how you picked your FP rides, when you scheduled it for and how you picked your one park.

Seems to me like a whole new world of uber-planning just opened up and I was just curious what your thought process was.

FWIW. My analysis paralysis is here.

We are not really planners. The only thing we plan is our dinner reservations. So what we did was plan the fast passes around our dinner. We knew we would be at that park for part of the day. That way we still have the morning to do whatever we want.

Kinda same as previous PP, I do plan ADR's and have an idea of parks ahead of time. I planned FP for afternoons when the lines are longer anyways. Remember though you can change them up, which I have done once or twice. It seems as long as there still is regular FP available for the ride then you can switch up the Plus.

Well... I am an uber planner. BEFORE we go. I like to just enjoy being there. I don't use a touring plan but I am the fast pass runner (of the past). All I did was pick our top 3 and try to work them around meals. Our downfall is that for this trip my MIL is along and doesn't do thrill rides so I tried to include some for her(with all of us together) therefore at times sacrificing a "mountain". Our MNSSHP nite is one of our MK times and no FP+ are available for the parties. Other than that, I will just do what the kids want to do. We go every year or so and they know their way around. We just plan to incorporate the FP+ into our normal days there. We don't "hop" with my inlaws so it's easy. I Also hear that for testing there will be old FPs as well so I plan to use them;). I am excited to try them and my DH is tired of me asking about times and preferences so looks like they are ALL my choice!!
I would love to hear other strategies!!

I actually found booking the FP+ pretty easy. All the planning around where we would be each day needed to happen so I could book a few ADRs. I used www.easywdw.com to decide which park was recommended for the day. Then, I made an ADR for 5 of the 7 days we'd be there and also booked MNSSHP. Then, when we learned we'd be doing FP+, I chose the rides that Josh says are top priorities - basically, I reserved those with the potential for the longest wait times. And, as for selecting times, Disney first makes recommendations and shows you on a map where each ride is so you can take into account distance. They give you 3 or 4 options. You can then alter them afterwards if you want to move around the times some more. We haven't used them yet, but I'm already seeing the benefit - on Day 1 we land at 10am and want to go to MK after arriving. Because of the late arrival and it being a party night, I'm not sure what we would have gotten to ride. But, I now have FP+ for Space Mountain, Peter Pan, and Enchanted Tales with Belle in the afternoon.

On the 2 days we left up in the air, we booked morning FP+ for Soarin and TT in case we wanted to ride them again, since it will be easy to pop into EPCOT and the other day we didn't book anything. HTH
