FP + What we know and what we want to know

Thanks! I was planning on doing S&S tickets too. I will also email SOG to see if they can help get us info. I guess time will tell (but I'm not very good at waiting!)

Thanks for joining in the email. Maybe if they hear from enough of us, they will act. I posted in the SOG thread, but no one really took me up on it.

Then I hope they get rid of the charge to get them mailed to you, unless they automagically associate them to your account.

But what is the criteria? They haven't said for how many days ANYONE can book ahead. Only that it "may be limited".

Would a 2-day ticket associated with a 10-day stay be treated as 10 days, or 2?

Or like another poster just said, will they allow easy upgrades online?

Those questions are the first page. I would have to think, as soon as you put in a ticket and room and they match ... An offer will be forthcoming to upgrade that ticket or add room days.

A quick comment about those who pull FP's and then end up giving to another family later in the day...isn't that equivalent to "spreading the wealth" for those poor, unfortunate souls who may not know the system?

And for that matter, isn't that essentially what "surprise and delight" FP's will be in the new world?

So why do some people have such a beef with that practice? Because a piece of paper says "non-transferable"???

After this many pages I am sure I have lost out on some of the comments but I think possibly that giving them to others who did not have them at all, is not the same as gathering up say all the family's tickets and getting them and then only 2 people in say a family of 6 using them to ride the same ride over and over. That way the same 2 people are riding multiple times where in the situation you describe different people are actually getting to ride only once.

Does that make sense. :confused3

I have been updating the first page whenever something new pops up, changes, or somebody asks a new question. I will follow bigAWL's lead and add a date at the top each time I update - maybe that will help.

The thread may be a train wreck, but page one had been helpful for many! I have enjoyed much of the discussion. I appreciate the moderators leniency and open mindedness in allowing it to continue. Is there a limit on length? I thought I read that somewhere many moons ago.

IIRC, there is a 250-page limit.

ETA: I see MAGICFOR2 beat me to it.

I believe the limit is not a hard limit, but one the moderators enforce for performance reasons. Usually an active thread that reaches the limit is permitted to open a successor thread to continue.

Disney had a longstanding policy that FPs could be used any time after the beginning of the return window and that was changed. This could change as well.

That was NEVER the actual policy. Many employees also do not wash their hands before returning to work - that does not make it the official policy.

If FP+ is available for fireworks, shows and parades, what will happen if a large number of people who have reserved a spot don't turn up? Do you think they will open up the space to others at the last minute?

Two day ticket allows for a two days of booking FP+.

FP+ is tied to admission media. I've said this several times and even clarified less than a page ago. It is not based on resort stay. Resort stays merely guarantee a ticket purchase "on hold" so Disney is willing to grant FP+ access. Don't pay at 45 days out and you lose the reservation and thus the FP+ because the tickets are no longer spoken guaranteed.

Thanks again for keeping track of all the "page one" items. I missed a day and there were 30 pages! The limit is 250 pages, then you can start part 2 with a link back to part 1.

It's a good idea to start a new page before you hit 250. That way you can post a link to the new thread before this one is closed. :thumbsup2

Tried to register for My Disney Experience a couple of weeks ago, and ended up getting sent a Disney Vacation Planning CD, which I love - just wasn't trying to order that. Anyway, watching it right now. Big explanation on how to use the FP- It has been on there for years - again the word PLANNING comes into play! :rotfl2:

You know what I don't get? Why do you so often put cruel, personal jabs in what would otherwise be reasonable posts? What do you gain from that? :confused3 I mean, if you had just left out the word nonsense it would have been constructive.

Oh, forgot that you also had to throw in the word entitled at the end as well. I am really concerned if you are truly in management. I can't think of any company that speaks so openly about disdain for deeply loyal customers.

Which would you prefer I use to label something that was a bad example with no merit thrown around as if it was a factual piece of evidence to support an already absurd belief?

Barry, thanks for keeping track of this. I may have missed it, but could you add the non-activated AP issue. I - and many others- have ordered APs on a will call basis. We have no voucher number to attach to an account. Will they give us a number to use, or perhaps the ticket confirmation order #....

That makes sense to me -- and I would see it as abusing the system. The other 4 people in the family could be off doing other rides during that time. It's nothing like the family that decides to leave the park before their fastpass window and hands them off on their way to the gate.

And I just want to point out for the parking lot analogy nonsense..

Disney does not park anyone "upfront" based on arrival time to reward you for arriving early. They park the lots based on what works logistically for them. They have and will continue to park the rear lots or further away lots first on days when they need to modify the parking schedule to allow for adequate space.

The lots of Epcot are a perfect example of this. One of the furthest lots (Wonders) is parked early in the morning if they anticipate peak crowds.

Disney will do what is good for Disney and guests as a whole, not what is good for for "you" because you think you've met some criteria to be entitled to it.

I'm pretty sure I didn't say a Disney parking lot. Lets say it is the mall parking lot on black Friday. If I get there first it is wrong of me and all the others that get there before you to take ALL the front row parking spots? Should we be happy to be forced to save some of those prime parking spots for those that want to show up at the mall 2 hours after it opens? Of course you wouldn't, you would park in the closest spot you get. And you should. If you beat me there, you get a better place and get more done in the mall. I am okay with losing. I won't get my feelings hurt and say that it is unfair.

Very exciting reading, thanks. I do love synonyms but you still haven't answered my question. What do you gain from doling out these disparaging remarks? :confused3

You are welcome!

I added this under tickets. There are posts on DVC boards referring to owners who bought PAP - and they just got a confirmation number too and were told to bring that and an idea to pick their pass. That does seem like a problem.
