Lovebugs Have Arrived!

Yep, they're out and everywhere! They were particularly bad yesterday at Casey's Corner and today at the Beach Club. Sorry, for those who are going to be there the next few weeks.

ITA!!! It was 42 degrees this morning at 7! They are anticipating overnight lows in the 30s this weekend, with possible frost Saturday night. Ugh. I have the windows closed up already but I will NOT turn on the furnace and burn oil in September!!!

We will be there in 8 days too!!! But I am starting to get anxious about these bugs after planning and saving for a year - I'm a little freaked out by bugs to say the least

We have been to WDW before in October and didn't experience any love bugs? Should I expect them to be hanging out longer this year?

I went at the end of September a few years ago. The love bugs are gross, and they were pretty heavy that year, but unlike mosquitoes and such, they don't attack you, they're just...there. At least that was my experience.

I'll take love bugs over those AWFUL yellow flies that are there in late May/early June!

In fact, I'll take 1000 love bugs over 1 yellow fly. Those things are vicious. Like a PP said, the love bugs are annoying but they aren't harmful.

Same around here! I drove to work with seat warmers and heat on full blast! Inland from us actually had a freeze warning overnight!

well, the weather is beautiful... hot, but nice. Personnally i don't notice the bugs til i'm driving and they are thudding against my windshield. It gives me the heebie jeebies when they hit right in front of my face. Just out walking around, no problems! Every now and then if you are sitting down, they'll land in your hair and you feel kind of a tickle. Don't get in the habbit of smacking yourself when you feel them though because smooshed love bugs stink so badly! Can't wait to leave tomorrow!

I get totally freaked out over bugs. Bugs are the big part of the reason of why I don't live in Florida (and the lack of jobs there).

However, I thought the love bugs were kind of cute. They are black and red bugs that travel in pairs. They are harmless, and didn't really bother me last year. They are not big at all.

a poster on another page suggested the OP should tell her child that love bugs were related to lady bugs. I like lady bugs... i don't mind love bugs except for my car's bath at the end of September. Yuckie little things.
