Yep I saw that Hamburger "joint" on triple D. What was it 1/3 pound of hamburger and 1/3 pound cheese?

Diners, Drive-ins and Dives showcases some very good mom and pop type places. That reminds me I need to google one from last evening "Bert's Best Deli" in New York. They made what looked like a great stuffed cabbage--Hope they have that recipe on their web page.

I hope all have a nice 3 day weekend.

Jen, Forgot to add your friends husband must work at one of the most fun mom and pop shops. They sure look busy. Must make the day go fast for the employees. I must say you are very lucky he is making your hamburgers They look wonderful.

I've fallen behind on this thread......sorry!!

Life has been one thing after another lately & I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. Our lease is up at the end of July & we've been trying to figure out what we're going to do. We're not super happy in Salem, but love the medical/educational help we're getting for the twins. Both boys are moving out, one to Monmouth to continue college & the other was moving back to Coos Bay (hometown) but his girlfriend broke up with him so he's heartbroken (and nothing worse than watching your kid go thru that) & so now he's moving back to Medford. Will be really weird not having them around.

We're wanting to move into Cali....we're looking the Sacramento area. We are impatiently waiting for our adoption credit to come in from the IRS but have no clue when that will be. It could be middle of June up to the end of Sept. Really hard to make plans when you have no idea when to expect it. We would need to put in a 30 day notice but don't think the money will be here on time to do so. They will go a month to month but they up the rent $300 a month....not really something we can afford. So we're in limbo-land & that's really frustrating. Mike can't even look into transfering without having a "Start Date".

So between heartbreak, moving issues, behaviorial issues with the 10 & 5 yr old, getting a grip with the twins food allergies & generally feeling blah due to the crappy wet, cold weather......I'm at my wit's end.

Sorry to rag on.....just needed to get it out so I could move on with my day.......lol

Hope everyone else is doing good, planning fun summer stuff, healthy & looking forward to the next Diva trip!!!!

Happy Memorial Weekend Ladies!

Ugh. No fun, Laurie!

OK - I'm going INSANE trying to figure out HOW to get myself to DL *SOON*. What's hanging me up is ground transportation. I have a 1 way coupon for Southwest, so I only have to buy "half" the airfare, which is currently $119 each way. I can be on the first flight out/last flight back, which would have me in Anaheim from 8AM to 9PM. Now is where it gets tricky. Cab is too much - $40 each way, but affords me the most time at the park. Shuttle is cheapest, but the DL express leaves on the hour so I couldn't leave SNA until 9AM and I'd have to leave the DL Hotel at 7PM. Not great, but not terrible. Super Shuttle would leave SNA a little sooner, but they have an OUTRAGEOUS time window to take you back to the airport. Almost 3 hours before my 9:20 flight. Hm. Currently looking at Tuesday, June 21. Anyone else planning to be at the parks that day?

eta: Super shuttle pick up would be 6:45PM. $22 round trip. Meh. But a rental car is out of the question at $75 to $100 for the day.

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!
Hey Jazz! Good to see you! Try and get some rest, and have yourself a good weekend.

Oh my. Well, that makes more sense. I Googled Squeeze and came up with a smoothie/frozen yogurt place, and I thought, "wow, she really likes her smoothies". :confused3 :rotfl2:

They sure do! I love watching that show. Why can't a salad taste as good as a cheeseburger though???

Aw, I'm sorry Laurie. Life can sure drag you down sometimes. I know. Hang in there. Things always work out in the end. I know they will work out for you too.

Pixie dust for you! Hope you are able to get back to your happy place asap! :wizard: :)

Laurie - At least you have us to vent to! Hope things start to get a little better for you.

Beth - Thanksies! Working on a TR and watching some Giants baseball has been made today OK.

Speaking of, though ... here we are months later and I have yet to finish my DIS Diva '11 TR! That's like a whole new record for me on procrastination, lol. But it's kind of fun to try and think back to all the fun that was had. I would love to go back to that weekend right about not. September, my next Disney trip, is too far away! Although I will be seeing a few of you there ;)

We actually had a bunch of Tornadoes here in CA yesterday. They were actually up near where Jodi lives if you can believe that.

The weather we have had this last week has been crazy :scared1:. We've had 3 nights of thunder and lightning followed by tornados and hail. I'm not sure what is going on but for the 20 years I've lived in Chico it has never been like this.

Starting to have Disneyland withdrawal and wondering how I am going to make it until February. I have been thinking that I need to make it back to WDW one of these days since I have been designated the Disney specialist for my travel agency that I work for on the side (duh :rotfl:) I asked DH how interested he is in going back and he said sure he likes to go but not sure if it's worth it to spend the money. So I said well maybe I will plan a trip for us but will see if I can sneak in with one of my "Diva friends" who is already going so if someone wants a roommate for a trip they have planned let me know.

Me too Carol!!! My friend leaves for Disneyland tomorrow for a week. I'm definately jealous. I actually pulled out my calendar to see when I could go again and it looks like it won't be until November -. That's way to long to wait. But truthfully, I don't think I have it in me to go in the summer. I would love to get back to WDW too sometime soon.

Good morning all. So last night my dh and I went to see Pirates. I actually liked it more than I thought I would. Tomorrow I am going to see Bridesmaids with my mom and coworker. My friend who is getting married in 4 weeks went to see it with her mom a few weeks ago. Her mom thought it was very funny but my friend did not. I am interested to see what I will think. Anyway, the weather is actually much better than had been predicted so we are going to take the kids to a really amazing park a few towns away and try a new pizza restaurant there that we have been wanting to sample. Later today we will be heading to my mom's for a small bbq and hopefully will be doing some more WDW planning.

Have a great weekend all!

Yes it is!!! Yum! Every year they are voted the best burgers in the Sacramento area. I order mine without the skirt. I know some people wrap their fries in the cheese skirt, but I can do without the extra cheese. If any of you ever come up to Sac, you must join me for a burger there :goodvibes

Just popping in for a quick hello before I go to bed! :goodvibes I am hoping with summer approaching that life will slow down for me. Miss you guys and hope all is well!

Just checking in real quick. We had a nice time yesterday. It was Shane's bday so we took him to see Pirates which I enjoyed but those movies are always so LONG. I liked it better than the last two but I still don't think it was as good as the first one. But it was good. We went to Johnny Rockets for lunch and then back to mom's for bbq and birthday cake last night. Luckily the weather finally cleared up a bit and was sunny but still not super warm. But certainly a lot nicer than it was on Saturday that's for sure!

Today we are off to SF to take the girls to the zoo. We were going to take them to the Sac zoo but Shane suggested the SF zoo and I thought it would be fun since we haven't been to that one in several years and it is always fun to take a day in the city. Then for dinner we are going to attempt to go to the rain forrest down at the wharf. Hopefully it won't be too packed and we can actually get IN. Otherwise we may have to go somewhere else. We shall see.

Anyway hope everyone enjoys the holiday and rest of your weekend!

Hi January! Great to see you on here! I hope you are doing well and I miss you lots!

Kelly - have a great day at the zoo!

As for me, I am working on some disneyworld planning before I head to the movie with my mom this afternoon. I have a question for all of you WDW experts. How do the Extra Magic Hours affect park attendance? Is it better to do those parks those days or avoid them?

Thanks,
SarahMay

I usually avoid them. It does effect the crowds especially during busier times of the year. But if you have a park hopper and plan to hop, then I'd do EMH. I used to love doing EMH at night at AK, but then they discountinued it at night :sad1:. Expedition Everest was 100 times better in the dark!!!

It is usually advised that if you plan to use the EMH, do that first thing and then hop to another park. If not, then avoid that park that day. I seem to remember that it is usually good to do a park that had EMH the previous day.

We saw Pirates yesterday too! For me it seemed to lack chemistry and the story was not as exciting as the others. Still fun though!

Anyone still going? I seem to remember that Theresa and Angie have a room booked, but have not heard from anyone else recently. Less that 4 weeks away!

Good morning, January, Kelly, Sarah, Capri, Katie, Carol and everyone else!
Hope you are all enjoying your day so far. :)

Not to butt in here, but I'm pretty sure Theresa and Angie aren't going to make it after all. I think due to work issues. :confused3 I'm sure they'll pop in and post at some point though.
I was hoping that would be a fun little mini-meet for y'all! Maybe it still will be.... :wizard:

It's probably just me, but wow, Disney sure seems expensive now for a family of four. The prices for room/tickets/food - YIKES!

All those expensive trip expenses is making it tough for me to plan a trip - haha! :goodvibes

I think it would be cheaper to just move down there. ;) :rotfl:
