****Official December 2011 Thread****

Hey holiday disers! I am so excited! I looove Disney during the holidays; it makes them even more magical!. This will be our 4th Disney Christmas, but this time we are doing something new; we are surprising the kids with a pre-Disney cruise on the dream! We are doing 4 nights on the dream and 5 nights at Disney. This will be our 1st cruise and of course it had to be Disney. The kids know we are going to Disney during Christmas break, but they don't know about the cruise. They have asked about going on a Disney cruise and they have ooohed and ahhed over pictures of the Dream, but we have told them it's to expensive. They are going to freak out!

How excellent!!! :yay: Your kids will be so excited I'm sure!

trying to talk DW into going to WDW from Dec 17-22...it would be our first Christmas trip to WDW...

Woohoo!! Just booked Dec. 4-9 at Coronado Springs!!! So excited! I love Disney at Christmas time! When I log in on the WDW website now it says that there are 227 days until my trip with my best friends from college!

If any of you are Touring Plans subscribers, they have "projected" park hours on their website. They're based on last year's hours but I've used that method before and then tend to be pretty close if not correct (at least until Disney decides to change them :lmao: ) It at least gives you something to play with until you can get official park hours and make ADRs. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! I'm new to disboards and am thrilled that I just bought our plane tickets for December 25-January 1! The plan is to keep this a secret and suprise my 9 year old twin girls on Christmas Day!!!!!!!! Hope I can keep a secret this long.

We are doing the same thing - our kids have no idea. We are going on the 16th and will basically pull them from school and head straight to the airport. The surprise will be well worth it so good luck 'holding it all in!' :thumbsup2

I have never been to MVMCP. Im trying to decide if we should go? what do you all think?

I'm trying to decide myself. Advance sale tix for 2 adults and 1 child are $165 all together and you don't have to have park admission for that day, but if you don't you can't enter until 4pm.

:confused:
Is MVMCP just a parade with coaco and cookies? If so, I'm thinking we'll skip it. Can anyone explain what it's all about?

We love MVMCP and have gone every year for the past 4 years! Yes, they have a parade and free cocoa and cookies (which, for me, those three things are what I love about it!). But, really, it's a great time to see Magic Kingdom with low crowds and short lines. Plus, they have dance parties where Goofy and Pluto and other characters will come out and dance with the kids. They also have snow on Main Street and Christmas-themed shows and firework displays. For us, the whole night is a blast and is such a great way to experience the Christmas season at WDW. To offset the cost of the party, we don't use a park ticket for that day. We just hang out at the resort or Downtown Disney during the day and then arrive for the party around 4pm. I really think it's something everyone should try once. Chances are, once you try it, you'll be hooked!

We are officially booked!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

One week in a Grand Villa in Saratoga Springs in December, doesn't get much better then that!

Only thing left to do for trip is book dining and Keys to Kingdom Tour! Aren't considering doing too much dining out this trip actually, probably just Shula's and Crystal Palace.

Just pulled the trigger and booked my first solo trip! JetBlue, ME and Pop Century for Sunday 12/11-Wednesday 12/14. Planning on doing MVMCP on Tuesday the 13th. A little nervous to be without a rental car (first time in a long time) and going solo but, dang it, I deserve this trip! it's been a rough couple months, with a couple mroe on the horizon, and I need my Disney Fix!

Those dates match up with anyone else?

I'm curious, what kind of bounce back offers have any of you recieved after a December trip? We're looking to possibly bounce back in February 2012.
