March 12, 2011 Eastern Caribbean, Let's rock the Magic!

This was posted yesterday from a cruiser who was on the most recent itinerary that we will be on:

"We just got off the 7 night Eastern that had to divert twice for medical emergencies and did not get to dock at CC. First, let me say I'm glad the people got the medical attention they needed, I'm a nurse and I get it. But that does not help with the disappointed feeling my family has because of the missed day at CC. I don't expect DCL to reimburse anything other than port fees and missed excursions. But, has anyone gotten a discount on a future cruise or something similiar because of the missed CC? Maybe we could try a double dip and get a better shot at docking on the island."

Wow! I'd be bummed to miss CC. I know it happens, but usually due to weather and usually in the Fall and sometimes Dec/Jan.
We went in December one time on an 4 nighter, our CC day was really rainy so we went out to sea for the night and went back the next day! :woohoo:

Marcy

We were on the Wonder last Sept for a 4 day cruise. We missed CC twice . We couldn't dock because of winds. It sucked.

The 1st Eastern we took last Feb. The cruise after us was stuck at CC for 2 days, on the ship.....

UGH!
I managed to get the family crud the boys had yesterday.:headache:
Fortunately, it seems to be just a one dayer. Should put us in good shape for cruising... Maybe have some antibodies to some stomach flu strains.:confused3

Unfortunately I feel postitivey awful right now and lost most of the day to laying around unable to move.

Yea - to the snow we got this morning melting away. Didn't have to shovel.
Yea to my kids for making their own dinner tonight. :goodvibes
Yea to my little dog keeping my feet warm. :dog:

Watched Beauty and the Beast from my roost on this couch. We've moved on to Twilight - Eclipse. Man... I can't wait to feel better! :upsidedow

Anyone else noticed that our tickers are offline? Guess I can count on one hand now anyway. :thumbsup2

:cheer2::cheer2: Can't believe it's almost here. :cool1:

Today was my last day at work. Tomorrow morning after I drop DDs off at school, I'm going for a pedicure. Then I'm coming home to pack the car. DH is picking up the girls at school and then we're planning to leave around 4 p.m. Unfortunately, the weatherman is predicting snow for us tomorrow so I hope the weather doesn't delay us too much. It's supposed to turn to rain later in the afternoon so...fingers crossed.

Marcy...I hope DH & DS are feeling better, and that you and DD avoid the bug. I've been so paranoid about getting sick. Several people at work were sick yesterday, including the lady who sits across from me. I was trying to figure out a way that I could go without breathing for 8 hours so I wouldn't catch anything! :rotfl2: I've washed my hands so many times and used so much hand sanitizer in the last few days. I'm turning into one of those germaphobes I usually make fun of! ;)

See you all on Saturday. We're staying in Cocoa Beach Friday night and planning to get to the cruise terminal fairly early on Saturday.

Only 3 more sleeps!!!!!!!!!!! :yay::yay:

Michelle

:cool1: Can't wait for cruise. This is our first time on DCL. We are counting down the days. We leave in 2 more days. I agree that I feel we have over packed, but it is fun. I have a son that is 5 and daughter 7 years old. they are so excited I know they are not paying attention in school this week.

Welcome to the group --- Hope to see you at the 3pm sat meeting == look at the previous notes for directions.

We leave in the morning. Soo excited!!!

We are on the plane right now headed for Orlando.... Using my dtrs netbook and the planes wifi --- so cool to be connected. Getting a little bit of work done too.
Hope we have everything....So afraid of someone in our group getting sick. Did not buy the tickets for parks yet just in case we had an issue. Planning on going to Animal park tommorrow -- should be fun. Though worried about my mother her sugar shot down just from walking in the airport. She thought it was such the workout.
We are all so excited!!
Pls all stay healthy and have a safe trip out to fl and port
See you all soon!!:cheer2:

azrealtor - I strongly suggest renting a wheel chair for your mom. We did that the last trip we took. You won't regret it.:dance3:

One more 1/2 day of school and a few errands to run and packing then it will be off to the airport on Friday:cool1: We are so close now I can hear them announcing our family name as we board:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Yes we are getting excited

Rob

Hope everyone gets/stays healthy for the crruise. *I* am not getting sick. >takes Cold FX<

Just had a message from our travel agent - there was a hiccup with our room and we got an upgrade! Woo hoo. We were originally in an 11A standard inside state and are now in a 10B deluxe inside state! :woohoo:

1 more day of work! Can't wait. It snowed/sleeted all day today. Yuck.

Well, last day of teaching...have to go to court for a student tomorrow, took the day off Friday to pack. So ready...2 more days til we leave...:)

We are in a hotel in Flint tonight. Our plane takes off for Florida at 7am! So up at 5am. Our Ds11 and DD7 are going to be zombies tomorrow!:scared1: they are not falling asleep!!

Tomorrow we will be at the Hardrock Hotel Universal, then Friday at Universal and Harry Potter then Saturday to the cruise!:)

We will be the tired and slightly burned Red Head family (except my wife who is the lucky brown haired one who actually tans). :rotfl2:

Just finished my magnets! Still have to decide what we are doing on St. Martin. We are winging it on our own, but I still want to have some loose plans. We will be at the port early too. See you all there!

Well, I had to go to 3 suitcases...the FE gifts literally take up an entire suitcase (and reach the weight limit)! My poor den has stuff scattered all over it as I try to re-pack the suitcases...

I still have to get a mani/pedi, buy some shoes (a pair of flip flops and a pair of dress shoes), drive across town to pick up my car from being fixed, make my magnets, work from 7:30-3, take my dd to gymnastics, and go to an awards ceremony for my ds...all of this on Thursday (which is now today). Oh, and try to get the house put back in order. I sure hope I have the energy and motivation to do all of this early so that I can actually go to sleep tomorrow night!
Any one else from the Dallas area catching the 6:20am flight on American Friday morning? It's gonna come early!
:)

NO, but we are on the 6:00PM out of Dallas tomorrow :) My school is terrible about letting teachers take off the day before Spring Break and my DH, sister and I all teach!
I set out all my clothes last night, now just have to figure out how to get them packed. I have heard duffle bags are best but would 1 suitcase fit somewhere in the room if the rest are duffles??? I am sure I am taking way too much stuff!!!!!
Can't wait!!

Lisa

We are on the AA 11 am flight:thumbsup2

I'm going to tell on myself early...when I made FE gifts I put the wrong date on it...:headache: I put March 12-18, instead of 19. Sorry...I don't know what I was thinking:confused:

Am a teacher but off today and tomorrow...today had to go to court on a student. Tomorrow took a "sick" day. WE fly out at6:50 tomorrow night. Tim and I will pack tomorrow morning while DD is at school. I'll do laundry tonight. :laundy:

Wow...I've been too busy for the computer in the past few weeks, and I missed so many pages!! You guys are a fun group!

Lisa...you can put suitcases under the beds...just pick up the mattress. :)

I know the Dis meet was in the Promenade Lounge last I heard...3pm? Anyone that has college age kids...I'll be bringing my girls and I'm sure they'd love to meet some friends!

I made it all the way to Vermont today in pouring rain to pick up my girls from school. Looked thru my bags...only thing I forgot was the magnets!!! I am so disappointed! :sad2: Ah, well, I'm sure Mickey will lift my spirits!

We fly out late tomorrow after classes...staying at the Radisson...can't wait for some sun and fun!! See you all Saturday!
