I don’t know where we’re staying, but I know where we’re eating! May 2011 *NEW 5/10!

I've been away on vacation so I'm a bit behind so here's a whirlwind of random comments: Yay for adding extra days on to your trip! :) The next time we go to WDW, I want to go to Cali Grill but I also want to go to Narcossee's. Maybe the DxDP will be in our future. :confused3 I love the ambiance of AKL and I'm sure you'll love AKL! I've been to BB but I wasn't impressed, I want to go to Typhoon Lagoon! I'm not sure I could compromise on that so props to you! :)

I will say this, we spent one full day in Orlando on our recent vacation and that ONE day was enough for us to realize why it is we love vacationing to WDW so much! :) It's hard to visit other places when you know that you will have a great time in WDW. Ya know???

Didjya have a good vacation? I hope so!

Typhoon Lagoon is WAY WAY better than Blizzard Beach! But the way I see it- until Ben experiences both, he wont be able to agree with me on that one! :rotfl:

Yep, we had great weather, ate A LOT, and got lots of rest! :)

:lmao: I love your logic!!!

Little life update to share, here:
I am pooped! We had a crazy weekend. Our 7 year old niece spent the night so her parents could enjoy a nice dinner in the North End of Boston. She's a great kid (she even cleaned the house this morning: the guest room, the bathroom, and she lint rolled the couch! All without me even knowing she was doing it! :rotfl: )
But we also watched her family's GINORMOUS doberman and he was up all night pacing back and forth on the hardwood floors. I was so worried about him waking our niece up, that I didn't get much sleep myself!

But this morning was cozy- hot chocolate and Mary Poppins: very nice!

Earlier yesterday, I got to go dress shopping with my best friend. It was her first time trying on wedding dresses and so so fun! I blocked out her face cause I didn't ask her if I could post them (and she left for Cancun this morning so I can't very well ask her now!)
But look at how pretty she is:

The last one was my favorite....

No decisions, yet... and she is planning a trip to NYC to visit Kleinfeld's anyway (I am excited for that- I've only been to the city once to see a show, and didn't get to enjoy much!)

I'll have a trip related update soon...

Ooo, I love the first one. Have fun going to the city/Kleinfeld's! Do you think you guys will make a weekend out of it?

All of the dresses look beautiful on her! :cloud9:

Every dress she tried just looked perfect! I am proud to say I was only a leetle bit jealous ;)

Subbing in :)

Sorry to hear about your kitty :(

Thank you, and thanks for joining!

Gorgeous dresses, love the 3rd and 4th ones :)

I really hope she ends up with something like #3... though those dresses were all a bit on the pricey side!

Very pretty dresses. I like them all but I think I like Dress 2 the best.

That was my 2nd favorite!

That's the plan- spend the night and have some fun. One of the bridesmaids is in California, and she might be able to meet us in NYC as part of a work trip, which would be nice!

Oh, pretty dresses. I like #3 with the straps :goodvibes

I like the straps, too! They are optional, and the dress is pretty without them, but I preferred with :goodvibes

finally caught up!! yay for the extra days!

and i love SAI lunch!! i havent made an ADR there for this trip i figured i should try something new. :( but you should enjoy! i always said its probably one of my favorite mexican restaurants!

Glad you're still reading! I've been taking longer to post an update than I intended, so thanks for sticking around!

I am sooooo happy to hear good things about SAI. I really don't know too much about it (except seeing it when we're in Mexico, of course), and am starting to be very exciting for it. :goodvibes

The straps on dress #3 are optional, but I like it best with them (and like you, not usually into straps) Can't wait to visit Kleinfeld's- almost wish I was dress shopping again!

Before I got all distracted with posts of my friend's dresses, I meant to finally finish sharing my itinerary plans. There really isn't much left of it...

Day 8, Sunday 5/8 is our last day.
When we changed our dates, we got cheaper flights and a later flight out! So this is an actual day of our trip, with fun and everything!

I haven't planned the day out, because I want room to fit in things that we want to do more of, depending on how the week goes. I had thought that Typhoon Lagoon could happen here, but the logistics of changing and packing wet bathing suits for the flight home have forced me to be practical for once.

We may need this day for last minute gift shopping, and head to DtD.

Our flight leaves MCO at 7:40pm, so I figure ME will pick us up at about 4:30. So we really do have plenty of time to revisit any park we want!

And that's the plan! We are at 69 days today and I swear that number feels like a longer wait than ever! What is wrong with the way time goes by when there's a WDW trip planned? It doesn't help that Ben gets to go to New Orleans in a few weeks for a bachelor party and I don't get to go anywhere! Can I really make it 2.5 more months??

I am trying to resist the urge to rearrange our itinerary, so I needed something trip related to occupy my brain. What better thing would that be than fodd? popcorn::

As I've been reading trip reports, I've kept a list of snack-type things that look/sound not to be missed... here's what I have so far:

School bread
- Norway. I meant to try this last time but I guess I forgot! Probably too busy with Kim Possible missions and drinking too much at the time...

Caramel cupcake- Germany. The pictures from the new caramel store make my mouth water! The cupcake is what specifically caught my eye, but I have a feeling I may over indulge here just a bit...

Zebra domes- AKL. These won't be a first for me, but it's been a while. And since we are staying at Kidani, well... gotta eat some domes, right?

Butterfinger cupcake- Starring Rolls, DHS. This is one I've been reading about for a while! Some love it, some hate it. But I think I just hafta try it for myself!

That's the list so far- it's all sweet stuff. I am open to non sweet snacks, but I haven't come across any that made it to my list.
So what am I missing? What are the must-have-don't-feel-like-you're-in-WDW-without snacks that you all recommend?

These are all on my must do snack list too! Although, instead of the caramel cupcake I was eyeing a cookie with caramel in the middle on someone's TR. And I'm going to be a little realistic about the butterfinger cupcake--I want to try it ssssoooo bad, but if DD and DH aren't willing to share it with me, then I'm gonna pass. No way could I even eat half of that by myself and I'd feel bad wasting part of it! Have you seen pics of the cupcakes at that little bakery in AK? They look really good too.

As far as not sweet snacks goes, I saw someone mentioning a jalapeno cheese stuffed pretzel at AK. That one made my list!

ohhh yum on the snacks! i'm def going to try to do the same! can you only find the zebra domes at AKL??

and that jalapeno stuffed pretzel sounds delish!!!

Some of the snacks I enjoyed....

American Dream in Epcot's WS. This is vanilla soft serve with a blue (I think it is raspberry) slushy and a (I think cherry) red slushy. Layered like the colors of the flag. Sweet and cold.

White Chocolate Elephant cupcake in AK. This is pretty yummy. It has like a german chocolate (coconut type) filling in the center. It is topped with a white chocolate elephant lollipop.

Jalapeno Cheese Pretzel in AK. I think these could be in other places, but I always end up getting it at a cart just down from where I get the elephant cupcake. I think I enjoy this more when it is cold. When it was super hot in September, the hot gooey cheese was not all that appealing.

Those cupcakes at Starring Rolls are amazing!! We also love going to the Writer's Stop in DHS-- I love the carrot cake cookie and DBF likes the chocolate chip muffin-- pretty basic, but it's usually served cold and sooo good on a hot day! I also think that dole whips (basic, non-float for me!) are one of the hyped things on the Dis that totally deserve the hype! Love it!

The school bread is really good! I was surprised at how much I liked it because I don't like coconut. It's a lot bigger than I imagined, too!

The butterfinger cupcake is really good too! It's huge though - definitely get a box to go or share it with Ben. :thumbsup2

Another thing that's a surprisingly good snack is an order of egg rolls at the Yak & Yeti CS place in AK. You get two to an order and they are really tasty. Of course, my most favorite snack will always be the Napoleon from the bakery in France! :cloud9:

I am not a huge fan of coconut, but OMG the schoolhouse bread....one of the best dessert items I have eaten @ WDW, love it. Fiance had the sweet pretzel (its layered with all different chocolates I think) that was to die for too! The lady at the bakery actually said the 2 things that we got were the most ordered items. But everything in that bakery looks good!
