I know there are a few posts about Let The Memories Begin, and to be honest I haven't read through all the details, but am wondering about what people's opinion on this following scenario is.

Note: I am not trying to start a moral argument, or conterversory although I am sure the popcorn eaters will come out. popcorn::

What if you don't want your picture on the castle?

And why you ask (here's the moral dilemma - that I am not looking ot start debates about).

- What if you are vacationing with someone you shouldn't be ?
- What if you called in sick for work for the day, and don't want your boss to find out ?
etc...

Again, my simple question is has Disney taken into account that you still want Photopass pics taken, but not publicly displayed?

I personally find the scenarios hilarious. Everyone should take into account anything they do or are being seen in public can be discovered, as my boss always says if you aren't comfortable having it on the front page of the paper, don't do it in public.

I'm sure at some point in thier admission media rules of photopass they will add an authorization to use your image or likenss in thier advertising, if it's not there already. I'm sure the Disney law teams have been consulted and taken the appropriate precautions.

I'm also concerned about the photos on the Castle, but for different reasons. WHAT will this look like? (Anyone remember the hideous "Cake Castle"? Noooo!) Will they be projected or are they attaching flatscreens all over it? Are these photos & the new song (that I thus far have no love for) expected to replace Wishes?! (If so, let the picketting & riots begin - & I'll lead!)

The pictures will be projected only during a nighttime "memories" show. Not constantly and not all night long.

As for the scenarios posed, I was under the impression that the photos from photopass would be "day-of" pics so how would anyone know you were there with someone you shouldn't be unless they were there the same day with you?

As for showing submitted photos...don't submit anything you don't want seen.

I think that it's a neat theory but I'm not sure that it will work out so well on the execution. I wish they would do something like the Year of a Million Dreams or something again...giving out "dreams" or making "memories" for people would be the same thing. Oh well...maybe they'll do something cool in 2012

My 2 scenario's with a "day of" example.

1) You are married. Your spouse is at home. You told them you are on a business trip, when in fact you were at WDW with your friend you found at ashleymadison.com. Your pic is posted on the castle, when a friend you hadn't seen in years happens to be at WDW the same day on a happy (non adultery) family vacation. You return home, they call the house, your spouse answers and says "I didn't know Bob was in Disney World" to which she replies... "Me either" Uh oh...

2) You live in the surrounding Orlando area, call in sick. Head to MK. Pic on castle. Mary (the office gossip) happens to have a day off and is there with the guy from scenario 1 :rotfl2: - and approaches the boss the next day at work, and says "I know Frank called in sick, but I really think he was just - Sick of working".

Hmmm?? I was under the impression they are ONLY using photos submitted and not day of photo pass pictures. I'll have to go back and check that.

Apparently, you have to read and agree to a release that gives you NO rights to the use of your photos, before they are submitted. This release apparently also allows Disney to use your photos for eternity, as they see fit, AND allows Disney to make your photos accessible to a third party without your consent, to be used however THEY see fit.

NO. THANK. YOU.

Hmmm... Yep, your right. But I still don't see it as an issue. You need to pose for the pictures so... If you're doing something you shouldn't... don't be stupid enough to leave evidence behind, lol.:confused3

ok, then how 'bout this.

Your spouse passed away.

You found a new person, and are in a competely legit relationship, but haven't told your teenage children yet, because you don't know how they will react so soon after the death.

You take a trip to WDW, and your neighbor see's your image on the castle; and tells the kids before you were able to.

You still want those memories - from Photopass - don't you? :confused3

Who cares, by the time they start the projections, the castle will be covered by tarps like the rest of main street.

Obviously I'm joking! I don't want anyone starting a new thread about construction on the castle.

You're grasping at straws.

The solution is obvious. Make the photopass photographer use your own camera.

If you're using Disney's cameras to take pictures, the pictures belong to Disney. They always have. If you don't want Disney to have a picture of you, don't let Disney take your picture.

Wow, you've got quite an imagination.

Be the responsible grown up and tell your children. It sets a bad example to sneak around and lie to them regardless of the excuse or situation. Problem solved.

ROFL :rotfl2: Too funny!

Frank should fill Bob in that Mary can't keep her mouth shut. Why, I'm surprised Mary didn't have have a photo "accidentally" mailed to Bob's wife at home just to stir up trouble.

I think Frank and Bob's wife should get together and plan a Disney trip but they should lie to the kids and tell them its a business trip for work. Bob should have to stay home and take care of the kids and Mary just plain needs therapy. She probably cuts in line too. "Oh, I'm just catching up to my "special friend" from work. I just had to go to the bathroom."

Unless, of course Mary gets mixed up with a Brazilian tour group and runs off with a hotter, younger, sexier guy, Paulo, leaving Bob stranded in the TSM line for four hours! And to make it worse, SHE had Bob's fast pass!

Mrs. Bob and Frank might see a photo of Mary and hot Paulo on the castle and snap their own picture of that image and it would make the rounds via office Email. As it turns out, that little tramp, Mary, has been banging every guy in the office in exchange for free trips to Disney, so it serves her right.
