Geriatric MM Warriors!

Cindy: My son got horribly sick - he lives in Portland, OR - so I made him go to the emergency room. They did that swab to him and he said it hurt, but your description really brought it home for me! Yikes! Thankfully, he didn't have swine flu and began to recover the next day but his dad and I were just about to pack the car. It's no fun when they are away from you and sick. I can handle most of the separation anxiety until he gets sick - then no way!

I'm glad he's better now. You must have been worried.

I am definitely not going to catch swine flu. And not because of the flu, it's because they aren't coming anywhere near me with that q-tip!

When my son was little, he called them 'two-tips'. Makes sense, right??!!:rotfl:

That is so cute. Makes more sense than Q-tips! Remember when kids are little and you'd point to something and ask "What's this?" I remember pointing to my daughters eyebrow when she was really little and asking "What's this?" She said "hashbrowns" :rotfl2: I guess she knew there was a brow in there somewhere :rotfl:

Cute!:rotfl:I still think of words the way he said them wrong. Fun.

My baby brother used to pronounce TV and On into the same word pronounced: Tev-anon. It was adorable. That's also how I got the nickname Nell. My youngest brother and sister were twins, and I was twelve when they were born, so I took care of them more than my mom because she was always working. They started pronouncing my name as El, and eventually I became Nell. My brother calls me Daniele now but my youngest sister still calls me Nell.

Precious! Do you get to see them much? I like both of your names!

I just took a leap of faith and ordered jeans in a size smaller from Lee. My favorite jeans don't fit yet and my current ones are finally gapping at the top. Yippee! I did my treadmill today, Tutu! And I drank a whole sports bottle at the same time and one after.

My youngest brother is accompanying my parents down here for Thanksgiving! I haven't see him in a year or two. :) My baby is actually 6'7" now so I'm trying to figure out where I'm going to fit him so he can sleep! :rotfl:

Actually two-tips makes much more sense than Q-tips. Just like Flutterby makes more sense than Butterfly.

I knew a lady that had a puppet show locally when my son was little and she called it Flutterby Forest. She was so much fun! My sister and I will always say 'two-tips' and a few other precious words from the kids.

I think your new jeans will fit great Lisa! I'm sure of it!

Holy smokes! You have to put him on a diagonal! How tall are you? I always pictured you petite. My husband is 6'6". I love it, but all of our furniture is big!

Hi There, checking in quickly...another busy monday!

Barb - wondered where you had gotten off to, sounds like your crockpot chicken was more interesting than mine!

Tutu - I would rather birth a set of triplets than go to the dentist OR have something stuck up my nose!!:thumbsup2

Nell - thanks for the link and for the HUG too!!:flower3:

Lisa - good job on getting your treadmilling in! I think Im going to be Laura's assistant exercise police now! LOL, you are so brave to order those new jeans! I WISH I could too, but no way I can fit into 14's yet! DRAT!

off to have my turkey tacos for supper!

OK - so I got distracted this a.m. and forgot to post a new thread.

Sorry to hear about the illnesses that are floating around. I need to get a shot for DS15 (he suffers from reactionary asthma), but I haven't found out if his Dr. has it yet. His allergist doesn't do flu shots.

Nell - thanks for finishing the Christmas list. I guess it's almost time to start thinking about printing cards. :scared1::santa:

Lisa - your drive yesterday sounded wonderful. We are in the middle of yet another drizzly dreary day. I am beginning to think I'm living in Seattle.

Gena - sorry things are still tough with your dad.

Barb - nice to see you.

Laura - too funny about the nasal swab.

Stwill - I'm glad you found us.

I hope I didn't miss anyone. Sorry if I did.:guilty:

Well, I'm off to Zumba. Talk to you later.

Natalie and Nell: Dr. Teitelbaum was on Dr. Oz on Friday. I DVR'd it and watched some at lunch time. Dr. Oz recommended using D-Ribose as an aritificial sweetener for people that are exhausted and he said what Nell said about it's calories not being absorbed by the body - I'm paraphrasing. I think I'll still count mine as a 5 x 5, just to be safe. He talked about a liquid tincture for exhaustion which I will go back and write down for us. It was for adrenal function. I bet he has transcripts on his website like Oprah does. The show aired on Friday, Oct. 23.

I seems that it's Natalie's birthday. I read it on FB.

Happy Birthday, Natalie!!:cake::cake::cake:Oh, wait, you can't have that!:wizard::dogdance::mickeyjum:ccat:
