Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread Part II

I would personally love it if there was a "cake porn" thread. This thread and the one proceeding it have become unwieldy to say the least. The thread is constantly high jacked with questions of, "I need a cake for so and so, what is the number I call" or "I want a cake at POP will they deliver it to my room?". Having a stickey at the beginning with a FAQ and all the numbers and a strict only picture policy would be wonderful.

::yes::

I agree too! :thumbsup2 This thread has a lot of great info., but is very hard to get through. I'd love to see just pics with contact info. & questions somewhere else.

I've looked over most of the "cake threads" but can't find anything on Stitch. My step-daughter will be celebrating HS Graduation AND will celebrate a birthday (18) during our stay in May. She is a huge Stitch fan! :stitch: I would love to order a Stitch Cake. :stitch2:
We will be dinning at the Spirit of Aloha luau on her birthday...can I have a cake delivered that night?:confused3

Any info is MUCH appreciated!

Here is our original cake for comparison:

That is gorgeous!
Is the castle just a decoration, or is it edible - white chocolate? cake?
Do you have a close up photo of the castle?
OT, but were your bridesmaids dresses different colors, like the flowers? I'm sure it was a beautiful wedding! :goodvibes

Has anyone ordered a cake at Sci-Fi? Are there pics of cakes from there? I ordered a cake last year at The Plaza and it was the WORST cake we have ever tasted :scared1:. And that is about all we did was taste it. Are the cakes for Sci-Fi from the same bakery as The Plaza. I don't want the same horrible experience this year. My 10yo DS has put in his order(to me) and I really would like to have a nice cake for him.

These are from Disney's Celebration site. Thought they might help.:goodvibes

I won't be entering the great cake debate until December. But I'm celebrating my 20th Anniversary and I'll fight tooth and nail to get what I what. Linda or not. Good luck to everyone.:thumbsup2

Thanks for posting this! This is such a long long thread, it was a big help to find your post.

I'm also curios about the cakes from Sci Fi. My DD10th birthday and I'd like to do something special. Can you have a cake delivered to your room? Might be better because the kids might want milkshakes at Sci fi and not be able to even eat the cake there! I'd hate to waste the $$$. But by the time we would get back to the room they are always asking for something to snack on.

We just had a cake delivered to our room at the GF. We were celebrating both dh's and dd's birthdays, and my in-laws were able to join us. I ordered a 10 inch white cake with white butter cream icing and custard with strawberry filling. It was way too much cake, but I knew that going in. It was the only way I could get the strawberry custard filling that dd likes so much.

The cake was absolutely delicious. The only think I asked for was extra roses and there were tons of roses on and around the bottom of the cake.

It costs $77 (including the room service charge) and it was set up and waiting for us when we returned from dinner.

Needless to say we ate a lot of cake the rest of the week!

We are wanting to get a cake for my daughter's graduation. Is there any place that I can see all the cakes without having to go through every post.

Hey All!!!

I'm thinking I want to order the pirate treasure chest thing for CP breakfast Sunday morning. I'd have to get it ordered tomorrow so I would not stress about it. For those who have had them, how was the cake??? I'd need three of them (my DS4 and DS2 and our friend's DS4) but would put it all on our bill with the TIW card. Since it's breakfast prior to park opening, I'm thinking that's a good size right??? The mommys and daddys could "share" right?? :goodvibes My next question is how I would order the cake since the reservation is in my friend's name as she made the reservation??? Can I tell them when I call I want it all on my bill (they're on DDP and we're not, we want to pay for these cakes!!)??? Can I keep them from finding out when we check in????

As for a seperate thread - aren't the pictures and info put into the beginning of this thread so people could start there??? I seem to remember it that way but not sure if that's still the case. I agree there are lots of repeat questions (I've asked some myself!) and maybe an index would be helpful. I think one of the biggest problems is that there is no consistancy on Disney's end to help make this process any easier or more organized. Once Disney gets on board and organizes things, life would be easier! :goodvibes

I do not have my pictures downloaded to the computer yet but wanted to let everyone know that the cake we had at WCC was just as ordered and tasted great. I asked who does their cakes but forgot where they come from. I do know that WCC doesn't make them on site. It was all orange just like I asked. Even the Mickey head sprinkles were all orange.

I think I am going to give up on the cake idea. We are staying at CBR, and they do not deliver any cake to the rooms. Our next shot would be at Ohanna's, but then we are going back to MK after dinner, so have no where to put a cake. It is only the 2 of us, so no way do I want to have a 10in cake. We are going to DTD on our first night. Maybe I will look at Goofys Candy Co. and see if they have anything that I like, that I can just pick up and take back to the room.

Ok I tried to call on my lunch hour today to "pre order" the Pirate My Mini Celebartion cake. I spoke with Julie at MK Dining. She was less than excited to talk to me and told me just to order the cake when we got to the podium to check in. I explained that I really wanted this to be a surprise to the friends we were dining with. I asked for a supervisior or another number I could call and she directed me to the number to make ADRs....I tried but sat on hold forever and had too much to do on my lunch today. I might trying calling CP tonight specifically to see if I can just order them in advance or just do a Mickey Head cake since it would wind up being the same cost in the end....I want to do something really special and the cakes we've had have always been good so I think it's a good idea. I just don't want a yucky cake that's been in the freezer/fridge for three days because no one else ordered it first.

If it's going to be close to the same price anyway, I'd go with a Mickey head cake! (but I'm not a big collector of things - so to me the plastic box and trinket would just be clutter in the house after the trip...)

Hi all,

Two years ago we were able to order a birthday cake with a pic of the castle on it for our dinner at CRT. We had another b-day dinner at Ohana and could only get a personalized cake with Mickey balloons or confetti (no pix).

I tried to reserve a castle pic cake for our DD's b-day this year and was told they only do pix on cakes of at least 10" and they start at $75. I know we had a smaller cake with the pic previously.

Have the cake offerings changed that much or might I have been misinformed? I remember previously I had to call a different number for a CRT cake but this time I was given just one phone number.

Thanks for the help!

PJ

Can anyone tell me how much the Mickey Head cake is? This option was never mentioned when I called to reserve a cake yesterday.

Thanks!

Could anyone suggest a cute cake that isn't tooo expensive that I could get at dinner at Coral Reef for us on our honeymoon?!
