I am so upset.

I ordered three custom appliqued pillowcase dresses for Grace from :wizard: . I got them for our trip to Disney World. When I ordered them Jan. 9. I told the seller I was ordering them for our trip. I told her I wanted them for one week before we leave. She said that would be no problem at all. We leave tomorrow and I still don't have the dresses. I contacted her last week and she said she would mail them last Friday afternoon priority mail. She was mailing them from Georgia and I am in Louisiana. I am sitting here waiting on the mail, which will pass in about one hour. If they don't come today I will not have them for the trip. She has already charged me through paypal. I only ordered them for the trip. If they don't come in time I don't want them. What should I do. I sent her an email yesterday and got no response. In her defense one of her little yorkies was killed and the other badly injured in an attack. I know she has had to deal with all of that. I understand. I just can't even pack until I know if I will get the dresses. I made four custom dresses for Grace my self but I ordered those from :wizard: because I can't applique. I had a custom a day planned. If the three don't come in I will have to go shopping for three new outfits for Grace to wear. I am so stressed sorry to rant. Any advice would be appreciated. Maybe I will get some pixie dust and they will be in the mail today.

What size does Grace wear? How long will you be at Disney? I wonder if anyone has something in their child's closet that they wouldn't mind rushing to you?

I wouldn't want anyone to have to do that. I am still waiting for the mail. I might even make dh wait to leave until the mail comes tomorrow. It would put us leaving late but I am willing to do it. Keep your fingers crossed for me that they come in today. I am going to email the seller again today if they don't come in today. I want to know exactly when she mailed them.

First I would do a dispute. Did she send you a tracking number? If not it could be a scam. I also found out the hard way that weird things like dogs dying (people dying, hospitalizations) are common :wizard: scams. Not saying that her dog didn't die but it sounds a little suspicious.

What size is Grace? I don't know if I have anything that I could ship to your hotel????

I agree - I would open a dispute through paypal. That has always solved any issues I have had or gotten me my money refunded.

I hope they come today. How disappointing for you. She should give you your money back if she hasn't made the dresses for you. If they used paypal to create a shipping label you would have gotten notice of the item being shipped. Priority mail is trackable by code. The tracking is terrible and it will say it has been delivered to post office in XXX location when in fact it is not.

Have the woman give your the priority tracking number. If she says she doesn't have it, ask how she created the shipping label? If she still won't provide answers you know she didn't send the package. Open a dispute immediately with paypal. There is a time limit to open a dispute.

I only have boys clothes or mine and they are a womens small. If you want I will share them.

You have to get a tracking number if you are using paypal, it covers you as a seller, so if she doesn't give you one then it is a clear sign that you need to open a dispute ASAP. I hope they do arrive or that someone can get you some outfits to WDW! I don't have any kiddos yet, so I unfortunately cannot help in that department.
 
Wow...how fast you get behind after just a few days. It's going to take me awhile to catch up here, but can anyone recommend a pattern for an adult for a sheath dress?

Bonus points if it's CarlaC easy!

I've been pondering for awhile what I could do with some of the Micheal Miller Ironwork print and I think I'm going to make a black sheath with white print.
 
Oh, I understand your agony- I sure hope the dresses come in time.

IF they dont arrive- what about checking out Sears for Disney themed clothes? I know our first trip with my daughter (before I learned about this thread and sewing clothes) I loved all the sweet Pooh clothes they had there.

I know they arent the same as custom, but still Disney themed...

I also packed plenty of non-disney, comfortable clothes as extras- would you be okay with just dressing your kids in cute clothes, that dont have anything Disney? Heck if you were to go that route you could even try some iron ons, or buttons. Joann Fabrics has an applique section with lots of Disney themed characters- so a simple shirt can have Cinderella on it- all you do is apply with heat (iron) and then stitch around in a coordinating thread.

Just some ideas to consider.

It is good to hear that Pierre is improving. I was afraid that he was gonna find a new home.
We've had him for a year now and I really like him. Not quite love yet, but I really like him!

VERY CUTE! Yeah the saggy pony tails are great! Nikki's get like that right away because he hair is so smooth. Bows never stay in!

Sorry about you and Tessa getting bit by big dogs! Scary!
Nikki's hair must be very similar to Tessa's. Tessa's hair is so flyaway and fine that it's so hard to make it look nice! It just doesn't stay where it's put!

As for dogs, I'm really not afraid of any size dog, unless it's growling at me!

According to the website, Houston is supposed to have the Magical Journey show in both April and November. I hadn't heard anything about it coming back to town until I went on-line to buy tickets for the April show. Now we are going to wait for the November show. Maybe that will be a good introduction to Mickey and friends for her - we are taking DD to WDW in early December for her first trip.

We are going to the one in Houston in APril. I'll be sure to post a report after to let you know how it is.

I posted this dress the other night but when my DH came home from work he said it was cute but it looked like a pillowcase so I changed it ;) I like pillowcase dresses but this one wasn't supposed to actually look like one :lmao:

Having camera/computer issues this morning.

What do you guys use to get your photos from card to the computer. As in what program? I used to use kodak, came with the camera or can be downloaded for free. Well, they upgraded, which just made it horrible and slow and I can't stand it. So I went to HP but it is suddenly being wonky since I have been back. I can't edit the photos. This morning it won't even transfer them. It usually doesn't give me an option of which I want to transfer but it knows what it has already transferred and doesn't do those ones. Today, it was trying to do them all. It gets to the last picture every time and then something happens and it won't transfer any!

So, thoughts! Anyone? I am at a loss.


Jessica, I never use a program to transfer my pictures. Well, sometimes I use Picasa, but not usually. What I do is hook up your camera and turn it on (or if I'm on my desktop I put it in the cardreader slot) go to MyComputer, and you should see your camera there listed as a drive, click it, then keep clicking until you get to where your pictures are, I then select all, cut, and paste them into a folder wherever I keep my pictures.

Oh, Jessica. I don't know how much help I am going to be but I just save the pics to a file in my computer. It pops up as an option when I insert a memory card. I don't use a program. If I want to edit and crop them, I use infranview (a free download) or photobucket. I hope that helped a little. :confused3

Thanks for all the well wishes and advice. Here is the latest. When I emailed the lady last Friday she said she would send them to me Saturday. I told her that would not do because I would not get them in time. She said she would get them out Friday morning. Now she is saying that she mailed them Thursday and she doesn't have a tracking number. She said pay pal was acting up and that she has no tracking number. She just sent me an email that she will make some more and send them to me at the resort if I want. I don't know if I can trust her. What should I do??

I would file a dispute with paypal, if they arrive or are sent to the resort you can easily retract the dispute. I would let her know that is what you are doing to cover your own behind. It sounds sketchy to me.

Sounds fishy...dispute and ask for your money back.
