I just love the butterick pattern that I used for dragon shirt and then these shorts. It was too easy, and comes from me.

Here he is with his fish outfit. I believe the problem is that the fabric is dark blue and the shirt is mostly light blue?
Hunterinfishoutfit.jpg

I like the fish fabric and I think that as Clinton and Stacy (from What not to Wear) "it doesn't match, it GOES". I have the same butterick pattern and it's what I used to make the boys' valentines shirts, a couple other shirts, and roughly a million pairs of shorts. It's what I'll most likely use to make the boys' WDW shirts. I really like it!

BTW: I love that you make outfits to match your DS, what a great idea!

Here are a few pictures of some customs I don't think I posted before our trip. The 7 Dwarfs skirt took FOREVER to make! :rotfl: Let's just say as she grows, it will be getting ruffles.

I love all the outfits, but this is stunning!!

I leave at 3:30 Friday morning and NOT ONE THING IS PACKED!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

My house looks like a tornado went throught it, and I have one custom missing!:confused3

Looks like an all nighter for me!:sad2:

I saw it and grabbed the rest of the bolt!!:rotfl:

Hey Wendy! Did you see the Minnie dresses/tops? and there is a little pic (I don't know what happened) of my first flouncy too. They all came out so cute. I know you wanted to see them. I am a couple of posts earlier! I hope all is well and your little package was mailed yesterday. Thanks again!

Oh, and which pattern did you get?

billwendy, I hope you dont get mad at me, Madi and I were looking for pictures from the barber shop in the MK and she loves your hair!
Hi - This is such a fun thing to do!!!

Okay -we were there on new years eve. I was turning the big 40 and got my hair geled with a rainbow of color, pixied and the castles and coaches too!!! It was soooo incredibly fun and when my mom came in to take my picture, the barber told her to close her eyes and she quickly spritzed and pixied my mom as she stood there!!

We got to see 2 babies get their first haircut there - the barber was amazing - very loving, kind, patient and cautious. played with them, gave them stickers, even asked the parent if they wanted to keep some hair - then he made up a gift certificate, gave them mickey ears and took a picture - sooooo cute!!

lots of kids - boys and girls got their hair done as well - one mom purchased a crown thing right from the store next to the emporium and they put it in. I was asked several times that day where I had gotten my hair done cause people loved it!!! it was soooo fun!!!! so worth the $7 bucks!!

I love it too! We have to go there on our next trip. Do you have to make an appointment? The last trip we looked in the window and they seemed very busy so we left. Is there a good time to go? Looks like so much fun!!

Smocking is soooo popular here! We do have Orient Expressed and Strasburg in town though. Those are both very high end, but I enjoy copying things I see there! LOL
I found a really pretty smocked dress on ebay. I won it for 6 dollars. I was so shocked. I got it in yesterday and it is beautiful too.. I was so surprised!

Did you find the pieces of the needle that broke?? Usually it would be something stuck in your bobbin case that would do that. Trust me... I know! LOL I've done that too many times. The guy at the sewing shop told me that I'm not supposed to break needles that often. I told him he should be happy because I am spending a fortune on needles!

That is so great! I had been praying for you. I can't imagine how stressed out you must have been.

*hugs* I understand what you mean.

I think it would look good. It is kinda loud, but I think prints look great for pants or shorts or skirts. It would just be overkill if you made a matching shirt/pants/skirt set!

I use to have home show parties for Orient Expressed. It wasn't too much work and I always made a few hundred dollars and got a ton of clothes!

Here are a few pictures of some customs I don't think I posted before our trip. The 7 Dwarfs skirt took FOREVER to make! :rotfl: Let's just say as she grows, it will be getting ruffles.

I think that's it. I will get a TR going when I get photopass photos back.

Wow, you did an amazing job! Can't wait to read the TR and see more photos. I noticed you have a pic of DCL in your tag. Have you been on a cruise and if so do people wear customs? We are sailing on the Magic over this Thanksgiving and I haven't seen any posts about customs for cruises. Hope my kids won't be the only ones.

It was really really fun to get my hair done there!!! it was new years eve and every one was just having a blast!!!! you should go do it!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

Haganfam - LOVE the minnie dresses and the flouncy!!! Looks AWESOME!!!!!!

which show is it in November? I like to stay on top of these things because I like to sit in the front! We are going to the Magical Journey one. I'd probably take her to any other one that comes too. I love that kind of stuff and we don't plan on going to DW anytime soon. :rolleyes1

According to the website, Houston is supposed to have the Magical Journey show in both April and November. I hadn't heard anything about it coming back to town until I went on-line to buy tickets for the April show. Now we are going to wait for the November show. Maybe that will be a good introduction to Mickey and friends for her - we are taking DD to WDW in early December for her first trip.

Wendy if it is still available I would like it for trade.:thumbsup2

I posted this dress the other night but when my DH came home from work he said it was cute but it looked like a pillowcase so I changed it ;) I like pillowcase dresses but this one wasn't supposed to actually look like one :lmao:

After:

And her Tinkerbell outfit I made today:

I didn't realize until I had already serged it all together that in two places the same squares were too close together. :headache: I didn't feel like re-doing it so I'm leaving it :rolleyes1

Everyone here does fabulous work and I love looking at everyone's stuff. I only go to Disney once a year and I don't sell my stuff so that's why I don't post in this section very often. I think I posted a few times last spring. I love sewing even though I'm not an expert:banana:

Omgosh! I lost one of the dressed I smocked when we evacuated from the hurricane and I still haven't found it. I hope you can find your custom!

Ah okay. I was wondering if it was a different show. I don't know much about all the different on ice productions. I hope it is a good one. :)
I took Hannah to Playhouse Disney Live before her trip to DW because I figured she would "get it" a little more. We went to Backyardigans Live in Houston too. If anyone thinks about going to that one please do.. it was soooo good!

these are super cute.

Cute!!

:sad2: This morning it was pouring, I drove the kids to the bus stop and was met by a Ambulance, Fire truck, and 3 police cars, The headed down to the Circle in our Subdivision. Tyler came home today and told us a 13 year old boy was hit by a car. We have been fighting with the Bus dept and superintendent since the beggininng of the year about this, The Kids walk down the middle of the road and dont move out of the way.
Here is the Newspaper article.

The kids that are picked up from our apt complex do the same thing. They walk down the middle of the driveway and then play in the middle of the driveway while waiting for the bus. I have reported this to the principal of the school and she won't do anything. One day one of these kids is going to end up getting hit by someone not paying attention.

Wow!! Again, everything looks great. I have really enjoyed seeing all the boy outfits lately. I don't have any boys of my own, but I always wanted them. I also just love when they are able to get in on the fun, too.

We will probably be moving again today or tomorrow, huh? Ya'll are the chattiest group.

About ironing.... not debating, just sharing the fact that in our house very little gets ironed. I really only iron when I'm sewing because I do press my seams. In fact, my youngest is wearing her groovy Valentine's Day outfit to school and it is a wrinkled mess. Oh well.... I also was born and raised in the South by a mother who did not iron. I have several friends though that iron everything including her dh's boxers.

Thanks for the comments on my stuff. It is so nice to hear what you all think. I am glad you like the simplicity of the Minnie dresses. That is exactly what I was going for. I want them to stand next to minnie and look like her. Although, I will get to work on some more complex ones soon. I have lots of different color polka dots waiting to come together! :rotfl:

simply prefect! Ok we want close ups of the skirts! Love them all!
OK I skimmed and love all of the cute outfits...some of you just keep sewing and sewing.....you're all amazing!

I hope you are feeling better Steph

Someone asked about a cute New Look pattern for her little girl. I have the same one but never got around to using it before my girls outgrew it.
I would maybe suggest you try Carla's A-line dress. It does require about 3-4 inches of hand stitching right at the end but it is really cute and full! I hope that helps!

I love you all so I hope no one leaves the group!!! :flower3:

My poor DD was getting better from bronchitus and pneumonia. When I picked her up from school today she was one  big red rash....poor child can't catch a break. So back to Urgent Care for more steroids. Yeesh....it was either an allergic reaction to meds or a rash due to virus.

And....now I am sick. Not that bad...just an aching, cold, sorethroat and fever. I am going to hit the hay early and try to sleep this off.
I hope you and your little one feel better soon

Look how handsome your boys are!!!!

Hello everyone! I thought I would stay out of the talk this afternoon once it got out of the ironing and on to the clothing. :rotfl: I respect everyones opinions and I completely understand and can relate to what everyone was saying.

jham- I LOVE the outfits!! Too cute!! The Snow White one was totally worth all of the time you spent on it!

Oh, and the Hungy Caterpiller and fairy tale outfits were just great!! and there was sooooo much more!!! I guess we have all been sewing like crazy. I know in New York you get tired of the winter and look for things to do to get your mind off of it!

Here is what I have been working on. I was starting The Minnie dresses and my machine took a poop :lmao: . So, I ordered a new one and three days later my machine is working again!!! It never fails....anyway, I finally got the Minnie's done! I just wanted to do them simple, so they look like Minnie. I have to make some capris to go with them next.

(My dog had to be in the picture ) I apologize for the horrible pic, I just can't get this camera right:

So sad! Some one need to come up with a solution ! I drive my kids but I know there are a lot of bus stops in my town that are probably not very safe! I know my girlfriends little girl is actually picked up on a main road!
I leave at 3:30 Friday morning and NOT ONE THING IS PACKED!!!!!!!!!!!!

My house looks like a tornado went throught it, and I have one custom missing!

Looks like an all nighter for me!
