i did it i watched your tutorial alot of times (the song is very groovy..hubby says its very partridge family like) and i uploaded my pictures . wooohoooo:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :hippie: :hippie:
can you tell i am proud of myself?

Hi Disers!!! I'm new to this thread, but very familiar with the disboard. DH and I got married at Disney almost 2 years ago and I was obsessed with weddings board. I'm on the hunt for a sewing/ embroidery machine to unleash my craftyness. :rotfl:

I am so tired! I subbed for PE today at the kids' school and played a lot of four square (which has a lot more rules than I remember). Then a PTA meeting, a soccer game, dinner and finally everyone is in bed. Except me!

1. I would love to do costumes like these for the orphans. They seem like a simple dress with an apron over the top, and some bloomers underneath.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yb8P58Ep_oY
Does anyone have an idea of simple patterns we could use? I know that Carla C is great (and other pattern on YCMT) but we may have some elderly people or others without computer access sewing for us (I hope!) and I think a regular store pattern would be easier for them. Any specific, easy patterns you know of?

2. Are there any websites where I can get large amounts of cheap fabric? Or where would you suggest I shop? I know that Joann's does 20% off for teachers...any other better ideas out there?

1) I really think Carla's peasant dress and easy fit pants would be the fastest way to go. Those commercial patterns seem to take me a lot longer.
2) I would check wal mart too. I found some really cute fabric in the sale bin that was cheap.

A story for you: my daughter was telling me the PE teachers were excited about the game (one was a UF alum) and was telling the kids to shout, "Go Gators!" She stubbornly refused and told them, "Boo Gators!" I was so proud!

Ok, this stupid scary commercial for a stupid scary movie is on and now I have to go into the basement! I don't think they should be able to show scary commercials on TV! :scared1:

Jacob hides his eyes when that comes on. It doesn't seem fair that I can't watch tv with my kid without him being scared by a movie preview!

Anyway, I have a question. We are headed to WDW in March and am planning a dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge. Anyone have any ideas on a custom for that? I only think I could think of were Mickey/Minnie tees with Mouse Ears and maybe a cowboy hat? Anyone have a template like that? Thanks in advance.

I hate to show this again, but this is what I made for our lunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe. It is cotton that looks like denim and bandana. I thought they looked cute together but a cow print would look cute too!

IMG_0460.jpg

I had to leave your presentation of the Stinky jammies in. You're too funny! I love Stinky! Those turned out so cute!! That fabric is adorable, too.
The Valentine's outfit is very cute! It looks fine with a shirt under it. I'm liking Scrappy's preppy sweater!

Well since you are so interested, I bought the sweater off a nice lady on :wizard: who knits them all year round in different sizes and then sells them in the winter. It is the perfect length for a miniature dachshund so I e-mailed her and told her I was so impressed with it. He gets lots of compliments when he wears it, except from Tom who thinks it is silly. :snooty:

Here's a link to my blog of craft stuff I make. I can't wait to go back and read more of this thread but with over 200 pages it's gonna take me awhile!:rotfl:

www.allthingscrafty.blogspot.com

Thanks for posting! Your quilts are just gorgeous and I loved checking them out with the other stuff.

Love the hippo, Belle dress and Snow White. Your grumpy snow white cracked me up!

I think i may have sold my 1st item with out even trying or planning:scared1: Nik's last yr teacher whom I adore told her yesterday that she would love to buy the hat i made nik. Well a hat just like it. I just laughed it off and didn't think too much about it. Well i saw her at the school today and she told me she was serious! she would love to buy one and how much would it be.:scared1: If it was any other teacher i probably would charge but I adore her and I really pray Kyle gets her next yr. Should I charge her if so how much?
i was thinking of just making it and giving it to her and tell her if it was for any one else I would charge but if she knows any one else that wants one they are X amount.
I am very flattered because I love to sew and even if i could earn fun sewing money that would be cool. Either way i am very flattered.

If it was a teacher I loved I would not charge and if she insisted just the price of the fabric.

Man, that child has gorgeous eyes! What a great picture!

So pretty! You did a fantastic job on it!

Megan said, "Heather could make me a dress like that if she wanted." I reminded her Heather offered to put Snow White on her dress and she refused. That trim you used is so pretty with it. I feel so honored that I got to see it in pieces and now it is finished and gorgeous!

That Sawyer! The kids had a good laugh at his glitter hair. I am so glad he is feeling better!

I think you did a great job on both of them Emily. I think we are our own worst critics. No one ever sees the mistakes that I think are so obvious.

Hi all, I was wanting to make some LONG sleeved pj's for a couple kiddos and i am DESPERATE for a pattern. Any suggestions? I thought about the bowling shirt but its short sleeved and i have NO clue how long to make the sleeves for the various sizes.

I used simplicity 3577 to make pjs for my son and the pattern was pretty easy. These are short sleeved but the pattern comes with long sleeved options as well.

Hi everyone, I am new to this thread and I am wondering where I can buy a pattern for a twirl skirt. My grand daughters love these skirts, I do not sew so I would like to get a pattern so I could have a seamstress make a few for me . Thanks for any help in my search.

I really like this one by Carla because it is three different skirts, gathered, flouncy and pleated, along with the option to make them skorts as well if you have a girl who is not so modest.

Megan asked why she was squishing the baby princesses. I told her Tessa was probably hugging them. This one is my favorite, poor Josie thinks she is going to get fed but she is pouting, lol!

I looked in the photobucket account but I could not find very many Jack outfits. I know I just saw some really cute ones in a TR. She had 4 kids and the youngest was named Lily. Sound familiar?

Any cute jack outfit pictures please. :thumbsup2

Hi Disers!!! I'm new to this thread, but very familiar with the disboard. DH and I got married at Disney almost 2 years ago and I was obsessed with weddings board. I'm on the hunt for a sewing/ embroidery machine to unleash my craftyness. :rotfl:

I have a Babylock Ellageo sewing/embroidery machine and I love it. I don't think they are making the Ellageo any more but a lot of people are trading them in on newer machines. I bought mine used, it had been traded in, about 4 years ago and it still works great. Check with you local Babylock dealer and see if they have any trade ins. My embroidery machine has 3 different size hoops, 4x4, 5x7, 6x10. Some of the less expensive Brother machines only come with a 4x4 hoop so that limits what you can do.

Thanks ilovewdw4ever :cool1:

Love the pictures. The hot pink is so cute. The boys look great to. As I only have girls I tend to just look at the girls clothes.

So cute!

I made a few things for my kids for our Thanksgiving trip.
Here's one - Mickey head with skirt to match. I didn't have time to do squares, so I did stripes.

guess none of the pics are very good. I'll take some better ones to get some feed back.

Teresa, you reminded me of my favorite Wii fit story.
I lost weight, and our wii fit asked my husband if he'd noticed. He said 'not really.'

The wii fit said "Well, maybe you aren't paying enough attention!"
That is so funny!!! I love it!

No, we're not eating with the princesses. I don't want to pay for it! But, we're going to hit the world showcase the day she wears it (the dismeet day) in search of princesses.

That is great! I want a Wii fit!!!!!!

The princesses will love it! And Tessa won't have to take her shoes off this time!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I was going to say "You need a Wii Fit" But, I thought that might not sound right! So, I'll say, You will love a Wii Fit when you get it, they are fun!

What a beautiful outfit!! Your little girl is adorable!
Where have you been hiding!?! It's nice to see you posting!

Do you have a regular sewing machine already?

Someone's Auntie would be happy to CASE Lily's dress if someone's Auntie had the pattern for the Vida ;)
Any idea where she might get one of those patterns? :confused3

What was the website to order the Vida patterns again. Do we (and by we i mean you) want the Olivia pattern to, or was that just because of the name of it?

Fabric Hound has the Farbenmix patterns and it looks like they are marked down.

Also yes we have a very cute girl on our team her name is Britney and she also got a pin tonight we were so excited, her momma and I were hugging it out :rotfl2: :rotfl: I'm sure we looked like a bunch of nuts :lmao:
Ofcourse you can't always tell which team I am cheering on,
Wrestling013.jpg

I must get back onto my diet! Alittle makeup would have helped:wizard: I have an awful headcold and, Just my luck for the past 3 night's we had Wrestling meets. We are trying to get ready for the Championship tournament next weekend.

Love the outfits! My daughter loves Miss Spider, what a cute idea for a bag. And it is so cool your daughter got picked to come up front and dance. I am sure it made her day! Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I like that Jacob! I do the same thing when that stupid commercial comes on! It's SOOOO FREAKY!

Good job knowing what dog that was! :thumbsup2 !

Jacob told me Pierre has footballs on his collar. ;)

I don't think they should play those commercials on the food network or bravo or tlc unless it is later at night. I mean honestly!

Good job! That's what I think of too when she said singlet. I love your team spirit: you look so pretty!

My Dad had a previous injury when he "did something" to his back while taking out his docks (my childhood home is right on a lake) Then he really did himself in when he was skiing in November and he hit a huge swell that almost knocked him off his skis, rather than just falling, he was parallel to the ground and pulled his entire body back up, while skiing- thats what really did it. He is 69, has cancer and thinks he should still be able to do everything he could at 55.
Feliz- yes! thats it, I think I own that....
heres how to post a photo

note the little backslash right in front of the IMG part- thats what you were missing I think.

Oh no- DH just came home and said check the weather- 8-12" of snow due this weekend. I NEED SUN!!!! NOT SNOW!!!
I hope your dad is feeling better. I remember when my dad had his back surgeries MANY yrs ago ) he always said he was fine to go water skiing and every time it was a huge fight between my parents. Though my da was very young when he had his surgeries since he passed away when he was only 45.
O ray he feels better soon and that the cancer goes into remission!

LOVE the baby names!

thanks for the picture info but I used to be able to just copy and past the picture and for some reason now it isn't working. I may try later today because I finished the outfit I was working on with the applique.

Oh I am so with you on the snow thing! I hate the winter!

poohnpigletCA...here are some pictures for you...

YEAH! That is so cool! I can't wait until Kyle can do wrestling! When they do grappling in Karate he is so into it and actually is good and pays attention rather than goofing off! He will love the wrestling ! His karate teachers are big on working together but Kyle refuses to fall into a move he likes to wrestle back! LOL
You look great!
I love that there is a girl on the team! good for her!

I see that everyone else has answered the question...but the trip report is Jeanne's, she posts here as JHAM but I think she went to Vegas yesterday so she might miss you asking to see it. She did a great Vida with Jack on the front and I think Zero on the back.

I think Lori did a cute Vida too with Sally on the front. She posts as Taylor Tots on here. Maybe if you ask nicely she'll show it again! It is also really cute.

I think I might have to CASE one of these next year myself. My girls had never seen TNBC until we bought it this year when it came out again on DVD and now they LOVE IT! They are still watching it and constantly requesting "Jack the Pumpkin King".
