Disney Food Pictures...Part II

I agree with Goofysince71,,,,its vacation, never ever split anything, you'll really regret it
I used to think that way till I spent one Sept trip in the bathroom with stomach troubles.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I know what your saying, but for me, I prefer to eat really slowly, taste the food thoroughly, chew it 10 times longer than necessary, and leave the table full, but not stuffed. I used to be a glutton. I had real problems with it. I'll never forget the "glutton trip". It was a nightmare. I've never seen the bathrooms as full as they were on that September "free DDP" trip, so I don't think I was the only one in my shape. I felt like I was turning "green" and about to pop the whole trip. :crazy2: Despite all the walking (and we did a LOT of walking!!!) I still gained weight on that trip. I expanded my stomach from over-eating on every single meal (I came from one of those "clean your plate" families.) and it took weeks and weeks after that trip to get myself back where my appetite needed to be. When I got back, before the next trip, I posted a thread on how to NOT over eat. It was a good thread! it went really well and I got a lot of good advise that I have used ever since. Then I started doing the "I can make you thin" diet, and that helped even more.:thumbsup2
Now we may or may not split a dessert, but either way, I'm only going to eat so much. Your brain gets the same satisfaction whether you eat a little slowly or a lot quickly.:thumbsup2

BTW, the plan is AWESOME. Check it out on youtube! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQv1JBZ197Q
They had a series on Discovery channel for a while. I never paid a cent, though I do plan to buy the DVDs soon.:)

For what its worth, we usually split our desserts so we can both have a taste of 2 desserts!!! If the children get a good looking dessert, it may be a taste of FOUR desserts!!! :cool1: But even still, I try to keep the amount of the dessert to a reasonable amount. But I certainly savour every bite! Especially that Chocolate Wave at Coral Reef!!!!

Slightly OT but I really have all y'alls interest at heart.

I am planning to do a Dining Report and want to be totally accurate but we are on DxDP and I know there is no way I will remember all of the specifics.

How do y'all do it? Do you just take pics of your menus and food and match up later? I'd really like to do a trip journal and record this info there but I don't want to lug it to the parks with me.

Any suggestions?

Is this for your December trip? We'll be there at the same time! Anyway, how about you just make notes every night when you get back to your room? I'm planning on taking a laptop with me and hope I can do a live report. I love reading them when others do it that I want to at least give it a try.

We are also doing the Deluxe plan on our trip. I can't wait!

Hold onto your receipts from your meal; can jot notes on those. You can also take a picture of the menu so you can remember exactly what you ordered and the price.

While I'm not a poster on this thread (just an avid viewer! :) ), what we do to remember our meals is to take pics at the restaurants, then at the end of each day we write down our thoughts and impressions. Sounds kind of obessive-compulsive, I know, but we don't want to forget the details of any of our trips. :goodvibes

It's sort of fun to go back over the day too when it is time to crawl in bed.

We will be there the same time too....i plan on making a binder with the menus to bring with us...it has all the trip info in it...then when we get back to the room that night i usually mark off the things we had there and if they are not on there i make a note. i plan on taking a whole lot more pictures this trip as i was new the the reporting on the last trip. so if i see people taking pictures of food at dinner i will give you all a ;)

I called 2 weeks ago and the CM at 1-407-WDW-DINE said that it WAS included on the DDP.
We were contemplating getting it as well.:thumbsup2 We decided it wasn't worth the waste of good park time. Besides with 2 kids; and one being autistic, theres only so much resort touring we can do. We already have Ohana planned.

in 06 it was..the Maine lobster was good but all broken down (cracked) for you. being from the northeast and a 15 min drive to the ocean we like ours messy :) the other option we had was surf and turf and that was another type of lobster that just tasted like a gian shrimp to me.

I'm getting scared, only 11 pages to go until closure and no food pics on this page yet! Gasp!

I posted these a few months ago, but just to get some food pix out there, I'll post again.................

The much-talked about ice cream cookie sandwich from Main St. Bakery

I'm not that organized!!! I just take pictures before we eat, then when we get back we copy/paste the description of each meal from off Allears.
They are usually in the order we ate them in the camera's memory. We usually remember what was good, bad, or amazing! (We are discussing how it it the whole time we are eating!!!;) )
I plan to get them (the pictures) more organized, and list them SLOWLY, one meal at a time over the duration of the thread, rather than dumping them all at once. Too much food porn at a time is a bad thing!:scratchin

We don't take any notes. But thats a great idea if you have the time.
We will be going there in a month on the DDP, so we will bring back a LOT of photos!!! We will more than likely be on the "food porn 3" thread by then, and I'll delete the old pictures from the photobucket and add the new ones for an all new round 3 of my second favorite thread.
My favorite thread is still my swimming pool thread.:thumbsup2

Boston is supposed to be Lobster capitol of the world!:thumbsup2 i had it there as a child. I lost it on the trip home.:scared:
We were really poor. My mother raised us as a single parent working in a furniture factory. We had never eaten anything like that. The official story was my mother's family (live in Wilmington MA) brought us all Chinese food that evening. We ate till we were stuffed, because Chinese food back then, from where I came from, was like what a Filet Minion is to me now. Anyways, my Mom's stepdad asked me what I thought of Massachusetts. I said that I loved it but I was sad that I really wanted to try Lobster in the lobster capitol of the world. (see... even back then at 10 years old I knew to eat what the locals eat!!!). He appeared an hour or two later with about 6 HUGE live lobsters!!! They cooked them all up MA style, and I chewed and chewed and chewed and chewed....:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Then I lost all of it on the trip home. I guess the moral of this pointless story is never pig out on chinese food then pig out on lobster a few hours later!!!

I take pictures of everything, as well as keep a journal, which I write in nightly. Also, most resaurants will let you keep copies of their menus, and that is a big help, as well as a nice souvinear.

Yes, it's for our Dec. 7-14 trip. And I see that y'all will be on your Disneymoon. We'll be celebrating our 10th anniversary. As much as I think I'd like to do a live report, I know DH doesn't want to pay for access every day when we'll be barely using the computer.

That's a good idea! I'm a scrapbooker and was really hoping to capture exact names of dishes, our server, etc. I am also hoping to do a cost comparison of the DxDP vs. menu cost for our items.

I'm thinking I'll do the combo of making notes on the receipts and then transferring it to my journal at night. That, plus my pics should help me keep track.

Thanks for all of the excellent suggestions!!!

Shauna we might have to run into each other while we are there. Congrats on 10 years!

I'm already so excited. What will I be like when December gets here?
