Happy 40th Anniversary Cheryl & John!!

The excursion my kids want to go on was booked before we even got to the reservation site. That's what happens when you book at the last minute.

I tried to call the excursion location - dolphins in Puerto Vallarta - and they told me Disney has ALL the spots reserved for that day. Does Disney pre-booked all spots or do they hold some for the ship. If they hold some do you knows how many. My kids are already disappointed that we are not doing the zip line [Long story -Don't ask] and I don't want them to be disappointed twice. :guilty: :guilty:

I have seen posts that basically conflict eachother. Some say that spots are held back, some claim they know that they are not and all spots are filled before you board the ship.

Only thing I could advise is to keep checking the website and if nothing becomes available, go to the shore excursion desk immediately upon boarding the ship.

Good Luck

G'evenin' pirate:s

I swear this is the first time I sat down today! Off ice training, stick and puck, laundry, took the kids to the pool, grocery shopping, dinner, prep for this week's day camp...oy!

The kids are doing Extreme In-Line Skating camp this week - anyone want to join the betting pool to wager on how much gear they will be missing by Friday??? Hmmm, skates, helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards + regular camp items like swimsuit, towel, lunch, water bottle, shoes, sunscreen - x 2 kids. All DS9 had to keep track of for football camp a few weeks ago was his cleats and he lost those twice!

Well our Booty showed up today , and I do want to say they turned out great .....Melissa's are actually big but were going to do a hot wash and dry , I know it says otherwise on the tag but we will give it a go and if it dont work will have the printer do a couple more for her ..

I was afraid that would happen, so I bought a black tank that I knew would fit and sent it in for DIY printing.

As I said in chat the other night, I had visions of attempting to tuck 3 extra feet of t-**** into my shorts. That would make for a rather lumpy pirate:

demon pork aka bacon - esteri had some prepackaged for her camping trip

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Ok, a 1 1/2 foot deep mud pit.....

Anyone else thinking M volunteered for bikini mud wrestling

No, Stace did!
Besides, I just checked with the plastic surgeon and he just can't get me in for a  job and a tummy tuck before TOAL - so mud wrestling is a no-go.

Those of us that have had bad things happen to us know what the 'catch him before we do' attitude is all about. I never thought I would have those feelings but when my young family member was kidnapped and murdered, those thoughts just pop into your head. Thank goodness for our sanity and keeping us from a long trial, he (the kidnapper & murderer) took care of himself when he could not escape the police! I hope to never have to go through that type of thing again. Hugs to you and your family for this difficult time.

BTW: this happened very, very close to you in Arizona back in 1989!

Oh June, how terrible for your family. I hope it helps to know that even though he evaded our justice system, that monster is paying the price somewhere.

We keep a bunch of these in our RV for possible emergencies (earthquake, fire etc.)

The jalapeno cheese spread is killer.

Andy

We have several under the seats of all of our cars. Whenever we see one of those stories on the news about the people who were standed and survived for 4 days on 6 M&M's and a cup of water - DH looks at me a says, "We'd be eatin' chili-mac."

The mud would be great for our skin!

Chrissie

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Sorry I have been missing for so long, but so much has been going on, just trying to keep up with the 10/24/09 thread is about all I can handle most days. :lmao:

Thanks for sharing Andy. You all look great! Congrats to Angelina!

MMMMMM.... That one in the middle looks like the dehydrated chocolate souffle :worship:

Yeah, but imagine the gratuity your gonna have to fork over to the guy who parachutes into the lifeboat to serve the vanilla sauce tableside.

So finally unpacking from June trip (dirty laundry was done aLONG time ago!:lmao: ) So I was taking stuff out of my carry on..and I found a ziploc bag with fudge in it! It was like a rock! I totally forgot I had it!:scared1:

Chrissie

Good fudge is a terrible thing to waste. :sad2:

I am similar. My troop was the 1st troop in the nation to get the Gold Award. We got letters from the President, our Legislators came to our ceremony etc. It was a big deal.
Having that landed me my 1st job out of Grad school/

That's interesting. My expereince is that Gold Award doesn't have nearly the effect of Eagle. Reaction I usually got was either "What's that?" or a sort of 'so what?' look.

Posted too quick! Thank's Paula. I think we have two days leftover on one of our WDW passes. I'll see if we can exchange those two days. That'd save us as we were only planning to do two days at DL.

Hmm, never thought about this before...bare with me...

Our APs expire in Nov., so we plan to get WDW 4-day hoppers for marathon 2009. We are only going to DL for 1 day. The price of adding one day to a WDW non-expiring park hopper is going to be less than gate price for a DL ticket. Hmmm, maybe I should buy our WDW park hoppers before we go to DL and use a day there.

Great, something else to decide!

Nothing like a free spa treatment, that's what I always say :thumbsup2

AND a work out at the same time!

All's he needs is a pair of lime green crocs - they go with everything :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

ESPECIALLY pirate t-****s!

Help!! Any California Pirates!

We're were flying into LAX. Is it as bad as the PassPorter makes it out to be:scared1: ?

We could change to John Wayne (gotta tell you, that it'd be cool) but costs more time and money.

Any input would be welcome.

Thanks,

Jack

My door signs are just designs printed on cardstock, with magnets from a magnet roll. The magnet is cut into pieces and attached to the back of the cardstock. Very simple and easy.
Simple and easy... except for dummies like me. LOL
Where do you get cardstock to print on and what type of printer do you need to print on cardstock? And how do you attach the magnets on the back? Just glue it on?

I am so glad I am not the only one with this disablility..lol I just dug out my bag of magnets from the last cruise. Some are laminated, magneted paper, reg paper with magnets on the back.. I can get a picture on paper but I dont know how to add words on the picture without having a box around the words and then it shows white on the pictures...I need classes..:confused3
LOL
I'm glad I"m not the only one with this disability too!
I do know how to put text in without the white box though- just choose "text is transparent". Took me awhile to realize that the box "background color" was checked with white chosen- once I checked "text is transparent" -voila, no more white box. LOL Hope that helps!
(that might only be on irfanview though- which is all I've really used. see how helpless I am?)

As far as the paper goes, there are a number of options. You could pay to have them done at most picture places, but that can be costly. You can use magnetic photo frames (pouches):

j-mp_2.jpg
which I found on-line but have seen at K-Mart recently (last few months).

Last is the true magnetic paper which can get costly also.

As far as making the images, I think there are a bunch of programs being used, Photoshop, Publisher, etc. You could do them in any program you feel comfortable. If you knew what you wanted, you might even find someone on the thread who could put it together for you??

The font needs to be in the "fonts" directory on your computer to work. Depending on the type of font, it may need to be installed vs. just copied. You may also need to restart (or dog out :lmao: :lmao: ) to get it to work.

yes, picture places doing them is expensive.
I imagine the picture pouches are expensive also. I want LEAST expensive way to do it.... but also for the door magnet challenge -as I apparently am. LOL

Hmm, how do I get the downloaded disney font to be in my fonts directory on my computer?

(LOL @ dog out..... love it!)

I have been told that Palo, spa and excursion reservations are held back. I have to believe this because not everyone has or uses their internet access to make the online reservations.

It's been a couple of years for me. In my experience it's worse flying out than arriving. But I overall find it no worse than any of the major airports (JFK, ORD, MCO, SFO, etc.).

Of course, I still remember the pre-Olympics LAX airport, when it was all one level and you'd have to allow an hour or two just to deal with the airport traffic - it's infinitely better than it was back then.

The smaller airports (John Wayne, Long Beach) are easier I think, but I'll tend to take the one with the lower overall cost.

Hmm... Does anyone know where DCL flies into? They are doing our flights - I hope the bring us into John Wayne.....

LAX is a busy place, but no different to any other major hub. We're flying in to LAX, but we're only a 50 min flight away up the coast.

John Wayne is way more civilized and an order of magnitude more easy on the soul.

PS. I resisted the urge to Google a Speedo pic for you Cheryl.;)

Do you have to do the dolphins in PV? I saw that there are still spots available in Cabo for the swim. It is for a late afternoon time I believe.

I was soooooo excited when I saw your message. I went straight to the DCL site to see if I had been assigned a room as well.

<sigh>

I'm still in the lifeboat . . .

But at least I found a couple of cool t's to wear for Pirate Night #1 and Pirate Night #2:

"Walk the plank" and "Barnacle Bill"

This is how I did all of ours. I took them to my local mom and pop printer and had them laminated (cost less than $5.00 for 12 of them),brought them home and cut them myself, stuck the magnet tape to the back(it has a Peel Off backing). I was able to have them all designed, right here on the boards for Free. I have an inexpensive HP printer, uses regular size printer paper, got a package of Card Stock paper at Walmart(8 1/2 x 11).
Just go here and have a look around.: http://disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=105

Here's one of many I had done:

Cardstock is just a heavier paper. You could probably even use regular printer paper. Cardstock is sold at Walmart, Target, Office supply stores, etc. You should be able to run it through a regular ink jet printer and most laser printers. Although it might be to heavy for some printers.

Magnetic adhesive rolls are sold at Walmart, Target, art and craft stores like Michael's, AC Moore and look like this. You should be able to find it with the adhesive on the back, so all you should have to do is cut it with scissors to the desired size and peel the backing off and then stick the adhesive side onto the back of the sign. I typically put 4 to 5 small pieces scattered across the back of the sign.

I hope this helps.

I'm trying to do my own t**** and the graphic is too big for the transfer paper. :headache:

Are you doing DCL transfers? If so, you'll fly into LAX. We were told that is the only airport they are transfering from.
