Glorydaz Halloween Wedding PJ - Honeymoon Photos Added - 1/14/2008

so before I show a couple more of my eBay goodies :goodvibes , I thought I'd share a little background about our theme. before I met JJ, Halloween was my least favorite holiday-seriously! my ex didn't care for it at all and even though I dressed the little ones up and took them trick or treating, as they (and I) got older, the fizz went out. so then I meet this guy and he LOVES ( did I mention LOVES??) Nightmare Before Christmas. me, I'd never even seen it! so like a 5 year old ( come on girls, you know EXACTLY what I mean :lmao: ) he insists we watch it. ok, so it was good - well, really, really good!

then it comes time for him to formally ask me to be his girlfriend. he does it on - you guessed it - Halloween! to celebrate, every year on our anniversary, we went someplace Halloween oriented. now mind you, this is from me - who really doesn't like costumes or being scared or any of that stuff. so the first year we went to Busch Gardens in Virginia. yep, we had loads of fun! then we went to Universal in Orlando - oh my gosh - absolutely fantastic!!! then last year, we decided to see how the "mouse" throws a party  and this year, creme de la creme - let's get married!! at least he'll never forget our anniversary :goodvibes we've already decided to spend our first wedding anniversary at Universal. of course, we'll hang with Mickey first for a few days and then head on over. If you've never stayed at the Portofino in Universal - treat yourself - it is truly truly romantic!

so anyway, 5000 words later - yes, I LOVE Halloween now and especially Sally and Jack. speaking of, here are a couple of photos of another amazing eBay find. these are etched glass and I didn't post it - but the skeleton reindeer are etched around the whole base of each flute.

Michelle, you have such a touching story. I totally understand what you mean about hard times bringing you together. My heart goes out to you and you DF, you are both so courageous:hug: If anyone deserves to be a princess on her wedding day it's you!
As for your planning journal, I love it, the NBC theme is great. The candles are brilliant and the toasting flutes are amazing! I was gonna suggest shoe 1 also, so glad you chose it.
Have you decided what your doing to incorporate the blue into your wedding? You were undecided about a sash/necklace/brooch etc?
Ooohh, I LOVE Calla Lillies, they have been my favourite flower since 'Quantum Leap':rotfl: I always knew I wanted them at my wedding, they are so elegant:love:
Everything's looking fab:thumbsup2

Summer, thank you so much for your touching words. it means alot to me, to us.

as for the touch of blue, I just won a bid on a beautiful blue Swarovski pin ( did I mention eBay??!! ). JJ and I both agree it looks like a little figure waving his arms around ( something his son always did goofing around)
as soon as I receive it, I will post photos..

yes,it is coming together rather well! and how are your plans going?? if memory serves me right, your wedding is right around the corner!!

Michelle :cloud9:

Yup, it sure is around the corner, I'm so excited I am driving DF crazy with all my Disney talk:rotfl: At the moment I am trying to move from AKL (due to all this construction lark) as if I don't have enough to worry about:sad2: Other than that, I am loving planning, I'm a born planner so I love evry moment:cloud9:
I'm so glad you went with a Swarovski pin, it will look beautiful, it sounds perfect:thumbsup2 I can't wait to see your dress, you will look terrific:hug:

hi ladies (and gents!) first off, just want to say I hope everyone is having a safe and fun 4th of July. Here in New York, it's been grey and cloudy with spots of rain on and off. not exactly prime BBQ weather but we made the best of it!

just left my MIL's house - JJ gets up at 4am for work so we scooted out early. speaking of my MIL - I know some people have issues with theirs but JJ's Mom has just opened her arms & heart to me. Having lost my own Mom when I was 21 , it is a wonderful feeling :goodvibes

besides all the welcome baskets, I wanted to get her a couple of small personal welcome gifts. these are personalized and the poem has yet to be framed but they are really sweet. JJ thinks his Mom will be very touched - I hope so!

aren't they pretty?? also, for the luncheon we are doing silk calla's as centerpieces. to make it a litle original, I went to my favorite place (eBay) and purchased 5 different vases for the tables. I am planning on giving them as gifts to my daughter, my sister, my sister-in-law and of course , my MIL. she LOVES Mickey & Minnie AND her 79th birthday is the day before our wedding luncheon so here's the gem I found on eBay for her :goodvibes

IMG_4692.jpg

do you think she'll love it??! I really hope so! my silk calla's should be arriving in the next few days so I will do a centerpiece set-up and post some more! thanks for tuning in :cheer2:

Your flowers are so pretty and OMG those etched glasses are just AMAZING!!!!! I think it's so fun that you're having a Halloween wedding. I actually thought of you yesterday when I was browsing on oriental trading browsing for fans and stumbled upon some jack-o-lantern ones:

jack-o-lantern folding fans

and your MIL will for sure love that gift :goodvibes

I love your theme! I was getting excited for your wedding just reading about it. Your guests are going to have a blast :goodvibes. I must say I like shoe #1. My mom wore the bronze colored ones for my wedding a couple weeks ago and she said they were very comfortable which is always a plus on your wedding day. Good luck with the rest of your planning, I can't wait to hear more :).

wow - this is so much fun!!

Oh Michelle, those words are so touching on the hanky and the poem. I bet you she will love it. Makes me wish I was closer to my FMIL, just so I could give her that! Maybe I can see if Steven will give my mom that, she would love it:banana: Do they have another version for men to give to FMIL? If not could you let me see all the words and I'll just adjust it? I used to write some poetry so it shouldn't be too difficult. I so love the mickey and minnie glasses, they are so cute:cutie:

and the Minnie & Mickey is actually etched on a Lenox vase - thank you eBay!!! :thumbsup2
