Well, it's about time. Even if it is only a commitment ceremony, it is a GREAT start. Someone said in NH they passed civil union, actually only the house passed it, the senate still needs to and then the Governor must sign it. The Republicans are complaining that this is a Democratic backlash as the Dems won a majority in the house and senate in NH this past election. There were some pretty damn stupid arguments and amendments being put forth before the bill was passed, including that everyone be able to have a civil union, including brothers, because if the unions were only for gays, they are discriminatory. Of course the person putting this forward was ant gay marriage, too. Thankfully, the bill passed as gay civil union and includes provisions for divorce. There is talk of going one step further, which is to recognize those unions between gays in all states where they are currently legal, which is an even bigger step. One person voting against the bill was an openly out Lesbian. She says marriage or nothing, that civil unions do not afford all the rights of marriage, even tho the bill was written that way.
Anyway, I am so happy that it seems ALL people can have a fairy tale experience at Disney. It will bring a lot of revenue into the company, which will make my stock look even better. I believe that in time Gay marriage will be the norm and no one will bat an eye at any couple wearing Just Married pins, wedding ears, etc at Disney.
