My State Food is Better Than Yours

New Hampshire here--
ROAD KILL!

If we hit it, we truck it & cut it & freeze it!
Oh, jerky's big, too :teeth:

We went to PA one year we noticed all the dead deer on the roads--wow! those suckers would never be hanging around for long up here! :rotfl:

Hey, I'm from Kansas too and without a doubt our Kansas Beef (STEAKS, big juicy ones) are the best. Of course I would be more than happy to take a trip and test all of the other state specialties. I kind of lean toward those in Louisiana too. But lets put your shrimp and jambalaya as a side to my steak! :teeth: And if anybody is from Maine and they would like to share a bit of Lobster I will share a bit of Steak and we can have the BEST surf and turf!

You're on we'll have your steak and my Gumbo, sounds awesome to me!! :cool1:

Totally agree, i live in Tonawanda too... I just remember last year, my dh, eating the pizza in disney and getting so upset that it doesn't taste like home. Or the fact the water tastes awful down in that area! LETS GO BUFFALO!!!!

I am originally from Buffalo, and would you believe that I get pizza shipped in from Bocce? :cool1: :thumbsup2 Pizza is super expensive here, so it costs about the same to have a few half baked party pizzas shipped and we freeze the leftovers. Thank God we have a decent wing place here; I was shocked, but it does compare favorably to real Buffalo wings.

Salmon from the Northwest anyone?

Hmm, I'm from Canada and I'm a little vague on traditional Canadian foods...

Let's see:

butter tarts
Nanaimo bars
Maple syrup in the snow

Bannock?

Tortiere!

Oh, I know! Poutine!!

Don't know why they don't serve poutine at Le Cellier.

Hey -- Colorado here!

Can't top a big 'ol basket of fresh, Rocky Mountain Oysters!

I love 'em with Ranch dressing and hot sauce (OK that's from Louisiana).

But they've gotta be fresh, not frozen!

Nebraska Beef....I'll bring the steaks. Kansas can provide the corn on the cob!

Whenever our 'big wigs' at work fly in on the corporate jet for the day, they always stop my the meat market and bring good ole' Nebraska steaks home to NJ.

And they bring us NY bagels :-)

this turned out to be a really fun thread...it inspires me to continuing traveling :)

What is poutine??

Texas here ... and you can't beat our TexMex food. Enchiladas, Puffy Taco and the best ... fajitas!!! :cool1:

Have to say our BBQ is outstanding too!! :thumbsup2

I'm from Jersey and I have to say that since it is the end of summer all I can think about is fresh Jersey corn and tomatoes. The crabs aren't too bad either but I am from the shore

BBQ, SWEET Tea (PLEEEASE WDW!), anything fried, Milk Gravy and biscuits. Don't forget the grits w/ sugar and lots of butter! :thumbsup2

Hello to a fellow tarheeler. You're absolutely right about all of the above. Except I don't like sugar in my grits.

Well, I'm from Minnesota. You can take any food you could possibly think of....and we'll put it on a stick. And, as if by magic, the food becomes the best damn food you'll ever eat on a stick!!!!

Got Disney food? Bring it to MN! Put it on a stick, it will be better!!!
:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:
Ya, yooo betcha. Us scandinavians can put it on a stick!

For us it's huge meatballs, deep fried in batter on a stick!
Best fried food you ever ate!

KANSAS CITY, BEST BBQ EVER!! Try the Burnt Ends!! Awesome!
I know this will be debated by folks from Carolina, Texas, Tennessee,
I could go on but you get the idea. Had them all, our is really the best!
:teeth:

I'd like to qualify this by saying... just because you've heard of Bryant's, and the last six Presidents have eaten there don't assume it's the best... IMHO, it's not. :duck:

No one from CT yet?

Lobster Rolls-Lenny & Joes is only about 10 min from me & the original is about 15.

Pez- :rotfl: well it is made here

Pizza-Pepe's in New Haven (actually the Food Network visited it's sister, Sally's).

Can I add one from Maine??? (I am not from there) but a Maine Baked Potato with everything but chives for me. And guess what I will be eating one on Tuesday at the Big E.

From Jersey here....nothing beats any eggs in a real diner or a porkroll, egg, and cheese on a hard roll from any deli. Make sure the porkroll is cut really thin and fried to a nice crisp. You can have a months worth of cholersterol by 9am!!!
